You won't be disappointed. ;-)

This is the same like asking for samsung galaxy s2 in galaxy s2 forum. Dude, you should be some objective research to get an idea of the desire.
All I can say is: It's awesome!!!
Big step up from wilfire

I'm kinda looking for the end-users feel on the phone cause HTC doesn't put that kinda stuff on their website.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
I haven't had a single problem with it
And as it is a very popular phone, there is a lot of support in the way of custom ROMs so you're never short of choice (Although CyanogenMod is definitely the best)!
A little cautious note though...
There are well spread report of the Desire's mainboard failing because of overheat...
There's a thread here in XDA about that...
At the moment the desire is a pretty good phone. Most custom roms for this phone. But if you want something worth buying check out the Samsung galaxy s2. Just look around for a good deal!
My friend got the s2 and I don't like it at all. Too light.

Desire has been great for me for the last year or so.
But that's the point. It's old now, why would you get a phone that's so old ?
I still have mine because I don't see a clear upgrade path, yet. I'm waiting for a decent multi core handset to come along, hopefully with some fancy bells and whistles attached and perhaps hard qwerty.
As soon as these requirements are made I'm off !
I do hope you're able to buy for super rock bottom discount prices or you're being done.
I think that a Desire S is more recommended.
Sense 2.1, 768 Ram, 1Gb rom, aluminium unibody, gorilla glass, etc.
But a multi core phone is the best upgrade...
I would say a Desire S is certainly a better choice... All the good features of the Desire, with a little more processing power, more RAM and more internal storage...
Desire has the limited internal storage problem!!
Desire
Hi I would definitely not buy desire now.
Don`t get me wrong I own a desire and it is a great phone, but it is simply outdated (mainly because of the lack of memory).
Update to 2.3.3 helped a little bit with the memory issue, but when buying now, look for something which has more memory in it.
yes if you get one cheap the go for it - don't get tied into stupid contract from carrier or similar.
Phones really need mobile data rates to improve in speed and consistency before I seriously invest any more money. Everything seems to be about games and video that drain batteries too fast.
Okay guys thanks for your help! Gonna get a sensation instead!
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
Very nice choice that one, but I have to say someone in work has got the SGS2 and Oh my god that thing is fast and also will not suffer like all the HTC phones that have rubbish memory built in, but saying that I have had my desire for over a year and love it to bits with the custom roms and partion on my sd card for more memory.
But going from the wildfire to the sensation should be huge !!! hope you enjoy it
I have mine a year now and I can honestly say It is by far the best phone Ive ever had
However as someone else mentioned it is getting on a bit now
I will be changing up soon , probably around xmas
Liking the look of the MIUI phone if I can get my hands on one
Depends on what you want to do with the phone. The Desire is still a good phone, and depending on your needs, may fit the bill. If it is much cheaper than then the Desire S, for example, then it may be a good choice.
If you're into gaming then you'll probably want to go dual-core. Maybe wait for the Nexus 3 (or prime, or whatever it's called) annd hope for a discount on other phones.
Do it. But it has limited storage internal. So think about that first

So here is the deal, I had a Sensation before my One X, and since this phone has Tegra 3 I would assume it run a lot smoother! And overall it does, actually every single app is much more fluid, and switching apps are fast and smooth, but the Facebook app is horrible! I know, it's always been, but compared to my old Sensation, the One X isn't doing well here..
Yes I know FriendCaster is available, but I actually prefer the official app on a phone.. So is anybody experiencing this? And is this really where we can see the power of custom kernels? Or am I completely stupid and alone on this..?
Edit: And sorry if this has been discussed.. Haven't been on here that much lately..
Sendt fra min HTC One X med Tapatalk2
I havnt noticed it as being any worse then my S2 but the official app, being the pile of gash it is, I wasnt expecting any improvement
not really sluggish at all for me
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
It really depends what you call 'sluggish'. Coming from the Facebook app on an iPhone for example, the official Facebook app on the one x takes longer to start and also does not provide a smooth scrolling experience as on the iPhone.
Compared to other Android devices, it feels pretty much the same on most of them. Looking at LG 2x and SGS II they all feel quite the same.
The facebook app is just crap at the best of times, it was naff on my HTC Desire and its still crap on the One X, its nothing to do with the phone, just the app was made by monkeys... My mum could code a better app! Heh.

+1 - I HATE the facebook app. They really need to sort it out!
The worst recent change they made was to wait until you get a gps position BEFORE???? loading the news feed. so you could sometimes end up waiting a loooong time before you see anything. Its shocking coding by them.
I heard a while ago that they only have one dev working on the android one, but a team who do the iphone one. Maybe this has changed now, but if not, they need to consider some changes!
The FaceBook app could really do with GPU Acceleration.
Theres no reason to why clicking out the sidebar should be choppy, and the fact that the loading spinner is sluggish
I actually like how the official FB app is, EXCEPT how delayed and laggy scrolling can become!

Yeh that's real crap you can however stop it, if your rooted get lbe security it allows you to controll the permissions of everything system apps included.
I want to know why it need my location on the news feed? I could understand on the status updates screen.

Just switched to android after years of being an iphone user.
Got a HTC One X (in New Zealand) which as ICS 4.0.3 and 1.26.781.2
After installing ARHD 5.2 a bunch of games that did work on stock are either crashing to desktop or rebooting the device itself.
Anyone else getting this issue?
Pretty sure it installed correctly, sais the ARHD version in settings.
Using clockwork to revert back to stock until ****s fixed :/
...
And You Chose The One X?
...Why?
Crashing on stock ROM?? Don't know....
Try contacting the CC of the game or app or contact where you bought your device from, HTC.
should of waited for the s3 cos samsung phones never crash htc do alot
andd the iphone........well its **** don't use a fruit phone
Sounds like they weren't purchased from the market or the fact you're running something custom.

Correct, they weren't purchased from the market.
Seems that apps designed for Tegra are working fine, guess more will come online the longer this device has been around.
Don't know what you HTC haters are *****ing on, these phones are badass, so powerful.
Samsung user just **** out of these forums and don't say s3 rocks. It will sucks soon as soon it gets out. Let me count on you *****es.

If you stick with the apps from the market, you won't have to worry about this. Only compatible apps show in the market.

Example 1 : Phone easily to get heat up when calling or playing games in about 1 mins .
Example 2 : Phone easily to get lag or hang when opening contact, dialer , facebook and many more apps...
How am i going to keep use it when it was like holding a hot chocolate bar and stick with my ear for listening ...
A phone that i want is whenever i touch the dial or contact logo , it will come out quickly and won't lag . The most important is not getting heat easily or over heat....
So , should i buy htc one x or not? because i'm worry after i bought it , it is also gv a the same feeling and experince like xperia arc , then i will feel more regret and wasted money...

Yeah if you don't like it heating up.
Buy nexus 4 or sgs3 instead...
Don't buy it if you don't like it hot

I think you should get the Htc one x, s3 or nexus 4.
These are all good phones i think.
I own a htc one x and i love it, its does not lag at all and its quad core! fastest thing i have ever owned but sometimes it can over heat a little when playing on it for a long time (1hr) It does not heat up loads or very hot i don't think.
Overall i would get it if your like watching movies and games because its quad core and has a perfect size screen.
Or get the nexus 4 or s3
Hope this helps
First , Thanks for all of your reply

Actually i seldom use phone for play games or watch Video , if got are just a few mins in a half and hours. ....
The function i used the phone on android phone are just calling , i don want the phone get heat up easily in at least half and hours, and open the contact book or dial without lag and hang.
At the beginning ,I decide to buy a iPhone 5 coz it gv us without any worrys of lag and hang plus stable and smooth. IPhone got everything good , except it is not customizable(sharing using Bluetooth, nfc , free apps ) ,unless we jailbreak it.
Last , if htc one x not easily to get heat up in a half-hour when calling , i would buy it. .....

DO NOT buy it.
I thought a lot before going for the HOX and now I regret it. I didn't have the infamous wifi problem but I had a broken speaker about a month later. And now I"m having screen not truning on problem. I cannot answer calls or anything until it takes it merry time to turn on whenever it feels like. I had a Desire before and it had no problem. I took a leap of faith with this one. Not anymore.
There is no reason to go for a HOX when you have phones like N4. Do not get this.
Don't buy it. This is my 5th HTC device. And I regret it. It's a nice handset and I've had no problems, but I am annoyed at the way the firmware updates for JB are being managed/locked down, as I have a branded device.
I am very disappointed. This will be my last HTC device.
then what should i buy ? i really hate to keep using this **** xperia arc , everytime use it to calling , the feeling is like burning my ears ,somemore like get radiation. ....fcuk......

Erm, i have the same question but for different uses...
i will be gaming alot, watching movies and loads of other multimedia stuff... heating of phone wont matter...
but ofcourse, il be running a AOSP ROM like CM or something...
what i need is something that will keep getting the latest versions of Android (Unofficially will do)...
since the One X shares its chipset with the nexus 7, i feel it wont have any issues running latest Android versions?
had considered the Nexus 4 but it seems to have way too many issues with its hardware... buzzing speakers, cracking glass, battery draining...
dont wanna buy something that defective and delicate...
what do you suggest? should i buy this device?
Samsung galaxy s3 is the perfect choice. My htc one x is usually getting hot after 15 minutes playing game or browsing. S 3 is the number 1 of selling smartphone nowdays

Hi Guys,
As per my signitaure yes I am using an international version of the Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300
Now I have been down with samsung since the first galaxy so I am a bit tired already of the same features..
, I know its a violation to mention other devices in this section
But coming friday, I will be swapping my phone with an quad core HTC One X but I have read this one dreadful article,
Wifi-Bug!!
Now, I was viewing a lot of reviews and now is more confused but I really wan't to have the first hand ideas from HOX users themselves..
So how does it compare to the S3 in terms of;
-Gaming,(I play Gameloft games like MC3,MC4, Wild Blood, NOVA 3, interested in Tegrazone games hence the interest to switch)
-Camera
-CM 10.1 Stability? (it sucks on the S3 btw)
-Staying on stock ROM 4.1.1+root is worthwhile for the timebeing? I am now becoming lazy of flashing roms LOL
-Build quality? Does the white one stain easily?
-Wifi Stability? (read that article regarding wifi issues with this particular handset)
Please please help me out guys with such dilemma before friday, thanks in advance!!
anyone could help a bretheren in thy dilemma?

Gaming is awesome! Even my Nexus 7 can't play as good as One X.
Camera is very good, but on CM it's worse than on Sense.
CM 10.1 is stable, working fine if you've got 1.12 H-BOOT or lower.
I'm stuck at ViperX, best ROM for this phone.
Build quality is way better than samsung, though I have the grey one. The screen scratches pretty easy if you've got sand in your pockets.
Wi-fi is fixed in newer models, if you'll get one from the store, then you'll be safe I think. Wi-Fi is much better on Sense.

Whoah thanks much!
I pretty much game only in my smartphones, I thought Nexus 7 was the same tegra 3 platform? oh well.
I read somewehre thath lowlight pictures are good with the HOX
CM10.1 needs parts like different kernels, etc? not a one time flash?
ViperX rom is based on 4.2.2?
Yeah that's one factor that attracted me to the one x its the build, would it get stained with jeans? Yeah I am in the Mid East, we have lotsa sand here.
Oh this phone was like used for about 6 months, still has wifi issues? signal drops or cuts off? in stock Rom you mean?
1. Quite good. Gets a little warm though and battery life will definitely be a problem.
2. Nice quality on Sense ROMs, but on AOSP, not so good.
3. Beta-3. Extremely stable whatsoever.
4. If you like stock. Most people don't.
5. Solid, if you get a device from a newer batch. Some of the earlier models had weird gaps, wifi problems etc.
6. Never had any issues.
Keep in mind, we don't have S-OFF so you need to flash kernels and recoveries using fastboot commands which is a pain in the ass.
If I was you, I would never exchange SIII to a hox though.
Guys anymore points I need to consider?

Nexus 7 has 1300 MHz, One X got 1500 MHz.
You don't need any special kernels with CM10.
ViperX is based on latest Sense build, Android 4.1.1 and Sense 4.5/4+.
I don't have any Wi-Fi issues after 8 months of usage, but the screen on my Desire Z looks better than the one on One X.
Also, there's a *thanks* button, so you don't need to write the whole word

1. that wouldn't be much of a problem, do you have gameloft games installed? I read somewhere it is laggy for HOX, true?
2. that's nice to know
3. Beta 3 you mean CM10.1 based on 4.2,2? wow if very stable!
4. Lazy to flash but yeah I am capable of doing so.
5. I wish this will be part of the newer batch.
6. Issues on? How about that 3 button menu icon that appears in apps, can it be disabled?
7. How are the headsets which is supplied? is it symmetrically wired of maybe the right earbud has shorter wiring than the left (that kind of headsets I don't like)
I thought there was already an S-off released for the HOX, I'm sure I have read it somehere here.

hox scales the cpu depending on how many cores its using, 1.5 = 1 core, 1.3 = 2 cores, 1.2 = 4 cores anyway
hox has better camera, faster in benchmarks and looks better outside and n screen
s3 has removable battery, sd slot, 50 GB dropbox and that nice eye tracking app.

1. Nope not at the moment.
3. Yes, it is 4.2.2 and haven't found any problems or bugs.
6. WiFi issues. The on screen menu button menu can be disabled if you have a stock ROM higher or equal to android 4.0.4. All of the custom ROMs have the button disabled by default.
7. It's symmetrical.
S-OFF was released for the North American variant of One X, not our phone unfortunately.
Wanna swap phones with me?
I have this 2 devices. One x white and gs3 white.....
I prefer the gs3 over one x..
Why?
Better GPS, camera is really better than hox. Video Call over 3g, better runing games without lag. The wifi connection is better and sound have a big diference, makes hox looks soo poor
