[Q] App Folders + Cool Homescreens - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

I really want to organize my apps into folders since I want have my phone a bit organized, but I'm really having trouble organizing my apps, so I'm just wondering what everyone else is using so I can bounce ideas off of you guys.
What I'm thinking about:
Games- Self Explanatory
Social Networks- FB, Twitter, Tumblr, Blogger (maybe), G+, etc
Google Apps- G+, YT, G Maps, etc
Media- G Music, YT, Blogger, G Talk
Tools- Where's My Droid, AlarmDroid Myxer
The idea is for apps to overlap, because even though I may go to one folder for one thing, I might want another an it might be in that folder.
Also, I've been looking in that "post your homescreen" topic, and I've been trying to figure out the best way to do those cool homescreens with the text only icons and cool widgets, and I want to know what do you guys use?

I use folders setup like this:
Camera - Camera, Gallery, Instagram (if it worked), etc
Commerce - Paypal, Chase, Craigslist, Autotrader, Square, etc
Communications - Facebook, Gmail, XDA, Nasioc, Twicca, etc
Entertainment - ESPN, Pandora, Moviefone, Yelp, TWC TV, etc
Games - Games
Games 2 - More games
News/Tech - Pulse, NPR, Minus, Benchmarks, etc
Utilities - Titanium Backup, Rom Toolbox, SU, Alarm Clock, Batter Calibration, etc
I don't like for them to overlap, if I need to search for one I'd rather just go into the app drawer

in my dock using apex launcher i have:
camera: camera and barcode scanner
phone: phone and contacts
messaging: voice and messaging
browsers: chrome and stock browser
on my main home screen i have:
tools: gps test, speed test, linpack, quadrant, titanium
google: maps, gmail, play music, play movies, play store, gtalk

Dream Tabs

If you could get HTC to design any tab for you, what would you make it?
I'd like:
A Google/Bing Maps tab, which when selected goes full-screen into a map of your current location.
The same with the Reader tab - it if opened fullscreen to your current page, and allowed easy adding of txt files etc (I know there's the indexer program which does this).
A video browser which would just index the contents of e.g. My Videos, perhaps with ability to download DVD cover/details etc, and then launch whatever video player you wanted, (e.g. left softkey Coreplayer, right sofkey Album/WMP).
And of course, FaceBook tab!
Anyone else?
A real Tasks{Todos) List tab.
My dream tabs are:
1.) Facebook tab
2.) Widgets tab
3.) RSS tab
Facebook tab would be OK...
I definitely would welcome Tasks tab...that is something I use a lot and it is annoying to open the tasks app..
Facebook,
RSS,
Radio
That'll be top.
I wonder if someone will read this and eventually do something about it
it would be cool though if someone really did

Second that!

What apps do you use most?

What apps do you use most? The facebook/twitter widget is number one on my list for most used, but it has a lot of room from improvement. In the home skype gets used the most due to poor cell coverage. And outside I would say google nav is my most used. Even in areas I am familiar with I still use it for reference and incase I have a craving for that unknown restaurant the epic can show me the way.
I made a short video covering the homepage apps on youtube. I am too new to post a link...strange as I have post links before. Anyways go to youtube and look for kraisydave.

[Q] Homescreens? How do you rock them on your G2?

This is assuming you have stock android, launcher pro, ADW, Go launcher, how many home screens do you have?
i used to have 7, but started to condense them down to 5. now i think im dropping to 3.
my homescreen (middle one of the 5) is pretty much just an open screen with 2 circle launcher widgets with most commonly used apps.
go one to the right, and its a calendar widget, GV inbox widget, and 3 gmail shortcuts, direct to the inbox of each email address
one more to the right and its all settings shortcuts and commonly used utilities such as root explorer, hot reboot, ATK, rom manager, and mobile signal widget pro widget.
from middle, one to the left is bookmark shortcuts in a folder, a internet traffic app, and an MLB.com app widget.
one more left and its media related stuff like music widget, dsp manager, volume ace widget, voice recorder gallery and directv app.
im thinking i can really just downgrade it to 3 and use folders.
how do you rock your G2 hoescreens?
I only use 3 homescreens. It's quite simple, although I wasn't going for the minimalistic look.
My middle screen has a make your own clock widget, minimalistic text widget with battery percentage and a shortcut to astrid.
Left screen just has an elixir widget with my signal percentages, ram, cpu usage and SD card, etc and a springpad folder of shopping lists.
Right screen is just one big pure agenda widget. I use launcherpro to limit my screens, I've two docks. Main one is just market, gmail (swipe to email), contacts, handcent (swipe to text a certain person) and dolphin browser. Second dock, however, is folders from folder organizer. I have a games folder, internet folder, misc folder (swipe to app list), multimedia folder and tools folder
I use 3 home screens, 2 mostly filled with my most frequently used apps. On the 3rd one I have the power control, starred contacts folder, and the widget for taskiller.
2 screens
i have 2, main screen on image below, other screen is full screen launcher pro facebook, don't need anything else, with CM7 stable and running at 1Ghz the phone is lightning fast
This could be done in the "Post your Home Screen!" thread.

They could do nothing without your explicit launch, while still have full functionality when running in foreground, like what iOS apps act!
I have a good portion of some of these apps myself:
SuperSU, AirDroid, Tasker, Dropbox, Rom Manager, TeamViewer, Titanium Backup, Unified Remote, Pocket, Beautiful Widgets.
I love using AirDroid to text from my computer.
Tasker is amazing at automating everything!
Rom Manager isn't much use until CWM Recovery is fixed though.
Titanium Backup is great for restoring all of your apps if you're coming from another Android phone.
I find AirDroid useless when Google gives you Google Voice.
I prefer Root Explorer for management. Light Flow I imagine will be compatible with the N4

AirDroid can be used for so much more than typing stuff...
Adding music, deleting music.
Removing apps, adding apps.
Its really easy compared to hooking up a USB cord and going from there.
Photoshop Touch is incompatible, you need to sideload it. But do agree with a lot of them. Lightflow is a definite must, morequicklypanel is a good one but does take up a notification, and also for me Battery Widget Reborn is a quality app. great battery statistics

Lightflow works great!
What about games. What do you recommend for showing off its power
What note apps have you tried on your new Nexus 4? Any one using handwritten notes on your new Nexus 4? If so which ones?
I'm about to test out NFS Most Wanted & Shadowgun Dead Zone

Hi,
What are your must have apps and favorites for your Moto G. Post here and let us know what is nice, great, silly or just COOL!
Here are a few of my personal favs enjoy
------------------------------------------------------
NEWS APP - Flipboard Gorgeous flip and slide animations, excellent at compiling searched info into your very own personalized magazine
FILE MANAGER - File Manager (Explorer)
MUSIC - Poweramp (The king of the hill)
BATTERY WIDGET - Battery Widget Reborn (Includes proper battery % in the notification bar)
CLOCK - 3D Flip Clock (multi-touch programmable, weather, great look)
LAUNCHER - Nova (Not as flash as some launchers, but still great)
TEXT APP - 8SMS (Simple, crisp and clean, with nice clear pop up notification)
BARCODE SCANNER - ShopSavvy Barcode Scanner (Very quick at capturing scans and showing comparison prices on amazon etc.)
KEYBOARD - Google Keyboard (the swipe is gorgeous, it's quick and very very smart)
WALLPAPER APP - Zedge (includes ringtones and notification tones)
POWER CONTROL WIDGET - Power Toggles (Very customizable and quick)
SCREEN OFF - Screen Off and Lock (a great wee app I put on all my devices, touch and screen off) comes with various off animations but I always use retro tv
BEST COOL APP - Gravity Screen (automation at its coolest)
2nd BEST COOL APP - Light Flow Lite - LED Control (Set up different colours and flash rate and vibration for all your notifications)
LIVE TV (UK) - TVCatchup (Basically live UK tv channels BBC, ITV, C4 etc.. turns your phone into a portable tv)
PIE CONTROL - LMT (not verified for Moto G yet but I use it on my Nexus 5 and Note)
------------------------------------------------------
If I find any fabulous, new, must have apps I will post 'em here

Google Newstand is pretty cool too.But it consumes too much data.

Live Score Addicts and The Football App are pretty great for football freaks.
I also love Feedly (news content) and Swiftkey (probably the best keyboard). I also like Greenify very much, but it's unuseful now because we have no root on the phone.. (unless unlocking the bootloader which I don't want to do now).
What's the battery life like with all of these apps installed? Also, anyone try the Google Experience Launcher over Nova for their launcher?
I like the Google Now feature, especially with the feature to be able to say "Ok Google" at any time on your home screen. Gravity Screen also seems like it'd waste a lot of battery.
Lightflow has low utility as our devices only has the white led...

Sofascore<<< I'm convinced that this is THE best football/score app there is with a modern android design.
I use a sound through wifi a lot and definitely the best pair are: AirBubble for receiving (paid, or otherwise a lot of noise after half an hour of use) and Aoa for transmitting the signal from my Android TV stick.
Sent from my Moto G using xda app-developers app
I have used
Mobi to slow the power drain, fantastic app
Kasperski for security Free with my bank
Mobiledit to edit
Skype
Ebay
Dropbox
NavFree as an bril sat nav.
One issue i do have is the lack of Flash player for this phone, i have tried all links to do with it, but no joy, any ideas?
Install Dolphin Browser, that has flash on it.

It did not work for me,
However,
Doing this worked like a charm.
Save the Flash player.apk to Google drive (this has filters and converters)
Once saved open from your device and hey presto it installs Flash player to your phone.
Apparently it will work this way on other apk files that don't install normally
i will try to find the link where i got the tip from.
