Hi,
For battery tips try this thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1599025
For the best kernel...There is already a few threads about this question in General/Q&A sections+the feedbacks in the different kernel's thread in Development section...
It's depend of your usage,settings,etc...With these kinds of questions you will probably have 10 different opinions which may not be useful for you...
The best is to read for yourself and test...Just my opinion...

Most people will tell you to that there is no solid answer, you just have to flash kernel's and test because no two phones are alike.
A kernel that saves battery for me might not save battery for you. Also, give it about a week for your ROM to get used to your kernel. If it drains fast, re-flash another kernel and repeat until you find what fits.
^agrees^
me personaly i tried a couple of different ones and the one that works great with me is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10772235&postcount=101 this one was tweak with a battery saver script ..... give that one a go if you want to but give it a couple of days to settle in
I have always used baked kernels, there are plenty of options. Baked speed, baked battery, and the one used In 1.9, Hero laptop kernel, works great as well.
i am beyond surprised this thread hasn't gone up in flames yet..
please, from now on, post questions in the Q&A section. you'll most likely find better answers there.

Either Tuesday or Wednesday i will be receiving two brand new new Verizon nexus's (32G's in the box with acces...) as a result of the popping and squealing issue i was having with my Samsung charge's. I am just looking for some input on the most stable custom ROM/Kernel out there. I've seen gummy and im definitely digging that but, this is a new adventure for me and all the insight from the nexus community would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. - I already have my galaxy nexus toolkit dl'd and im ready to use this amazing stuffs!!!!! hahaha.. awesome guys!! lol

The advice I will give is to NOT use the toolkits. The Galaxy Nexus is very "hacker" friendly.
Read up on the sticky about unlocking your bootloader and flashing roms instead. It's an easy and great learning experience and will help you get out of trouble later if problems arise.

OP Forum rules specifically ask you to search before posting
Asking what's the best ROM is the same as asking what ROM are you using.
ALL ROMS are the best
Read and try them out.
If you don't have time to read you should not be flashing custom ROMs on your $700 device.
Thanks

Ok, I hate closing these threads as I hold dear the "best roms" threads close to my heart. (My first post on XDA)
Here is a quote from another MOD who sums it up already (graffixnyc)
"Guys,
There has been so many "Which is the best ROM?" and "Which is the best kernel?" threads lately.
This is a reminder.. these kind of threads are NOT allowed.
Why are they not allowed? Well because that the best rom and kernel for me might be the worst for someone else. It's subjective. It's like asking who the hottest girl in the world is. Or which sports car is the best. If you ask 100 people you will get 100 different answers.
The best advice is to try them all and figure out which one is best for YOU and YOUR needs. Not based on what's best for someone else."
Sorry, but thread closed
I'm just curious and want to hear answers from you guys, what do you believe is the best TouchWiz ROM on the Note II? If you could list your pro's and con's I would greatly appreciate it.
Also, if you're running AOSP Roms, I'd like to hear your reason why you got away from TouchWiz?
Thanks in advance!
The best one is the one that suits your needs best! Why else would there be so many good ones to chose from? Try them and or read about them and find the one that you like. This will be closed soon I'm sure.

Clearly, you didn't read. I am just trying to start a conversation on what ROM you are running and why you like it the most. I'm not asking for myself so that I can flash a ROM.
I happen to like threads like these. I just hate when a bunch are opened. The whole idea that all roms are created equal is the silliest thing I've seen since youth sports that don't keep score. That said some roms are better than others depending on what your looking for.
My favorite thus far has been Wanamlite over in the 7105 forum. Works great on my ATT note. I've been testing out Jedi for the last day or so and it's been good, but I think I'm going back. Things like per app dpi and pie don't interest me at all and that's the only reason why. I lower the dpi all together and use a different launcher, phone, messaging and so on apps. Just like TW for multi-window and S-Pen.

Still doesn't belong here. Your using the word "best" will surely cause a lot of drama and arguing over which is better.

I use stock ...
It works the best for me. ..
Root is okay but no CPU changes, only a GPU overclock....g
I also use the stock kernel. ..g

Exactly . Threads like this are not allowed and im pretty sure all the stickies in each sub forum say so.
There is no best rom other than what suits you.
Thread reported
All,
"Best Rom" threads are not condoned, they may serve a purpose for the immediate short term, but almost all the time they spiral into arguments about one over another - "Best" is a subjective term.
No more! All users are expected to read and study and flash the ones they are interested in and have discussion in the specific thread(s).

No, try them and find out for yourself. Spoon feeding on XDA is not allowed just like "best rom" topics are not either.
Mod Edit
"Best" or "Recommend" ROM / Kernel threads are not allowed on XDA.
Please test these things for yourself. That is the only way you will get an unbiased opinion, and then, you can decide for yourself if it meets YOUR needs.
