Hey Guys!
I got problem with creating partition on SD card. I was following this instruction:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20397925&postcount=4
Everything was OK, but when creating operation started my computer went into hibernation mode (because of my battery, I got notebook). When I plugged in my charger and turn on computer, error message has shown. Operation was aborted. And then, when I started operation once more, I got this:
{

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Still and still.
Could I do something without formatting my SD?
Sorry I'm bothering you, guys, but Uncle Google can't help me
And sorry for my English,
thanks in advice
If you want to use a2sd, link2sd, s2e or any other method, you need to partition your SD card. Luckily, there is an easy method that worked for me.
Make sure you have clockworks recovery installed and boot your Gio into recovery. Go to Advanced> partition SD card> Choose partition size and thats it.
DONT use clockword mod to do the partition. I used it at first, and it created a ext3 partition instead, so simple to ext (same as a2sd) would not work. I so i had to repartition to ext4 using the same tutorial you did. As for the error, backup the SD contents to your computer, Format it, then partition it, then put the contents back. Thats what i did
Nevermind guys, I have broken my card. Had to format it. This topic can be closed

Those errors are likely caused by a hardware error (bad internal memory chip): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1039504
Hey rickyiswhite, I've experienced the same problem with my htc hd2. I am not hundred percent sure how and why this happened, but I managed to get my phone back to life. Here are two methods which I think might help you.
1. You might be missing 'initrid' and 'zImage' files in your sd card. You need these two files to flash new rom from your sd card otherwise the phone cant 'recognize' your sd card. You can find these two files from any rom you have downloaded, just copy and paste them into your sd card's root folder.
2. If this is not the case, I would recommend you to format your sd card (fat 32, i tried once to format my sd card to ntfs, and kind of destroyed it), and clear everything inside your phone using 'task29', which means you will lose everything stored inside your phone and sd card. Then you can uninstall and reinstall the HSPL (this might not be necessary, but I did that, just to make sure everything is cleared). Afterwards you just have to flash the radio and the magldr back. What's left now is to copy your rom into your sd card, remember to copy the 'initrd' and 'zImage' as well, and flash the rom, done!
However, I can't guarantee this would work because you know, different devices, so you have to take your own risk and responsibility to do this. FYI, you can also flash a new rom through computer, using the DFT.exe inside the rom. But currently most of the roms are flashed through magldr or clk, so it would take you some time to find the rom that can be flashed directly via computer.
Anyway, good luck to you, and hope these tips might help

When i format the sdcard and delete partition and create a new pertition and flashed apps2sd enable rom. Then in /system/sd , there is no file like that. So then i can install any apps. But again when i install another rom like repencics, corbits or etc. Those files autometically comes on /system/sd and i unable to install apps. Getting restart.. Very important thinks that using root explorer with w/r and in cwm , it is not deleted and plz see this pic

Unless you know what those are for and what exactly they do, I'd recommend leaving system files alone.
Anyway, to delete make sure you mount as r/w.
and if u delete them without knowing what r they use for ....
then ur whole os might get crash
and will result in some probs !
its better to leave them as it is
You'll have to mount it as Read/Write and then you'll be able to del them ..
U are using Root explorer .. so there is a toggle button to switch between [Read and Write] and [Read Only] .. at the top with labels Mount R/W and Mount R/O respectively..
So make sure you have mounted it as Read And Write and then you can delete or rename or whatever you want..
But why do you want to del those files?
Those are system files so its better not to touch them unless you know what you are doing!

Hi, I'm new here.
I can't post my question at the Bionic Cow ROM thread so I hope I can get help here.
Here's the problem:
I followed all the instructions from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1525387
until the flashing part, I can't proceed further from there..
I booted into recovery utility and selected
1. wipe data/ factory reset
2. wipe cache partition
3. apply update from sdcard.. (This is where the problem occurs)
It says:
-- Install /sdcard ...
E: Short write of /tmp/ sideload/ package.zip (No space left on device)
Installation aborted.
My sd card / external sd card is freshly formatted before i copy the roms into it.
How isit possible there is no space in it?
(Samsung Galaxy W i8150)
Please help..

Formatted on PC or using phone? If PC, what os are you using?
Edit: you have to delete something on the internal sdcard, not the microsd.

ClockworkMod Recovery Tutorial......click it!!!!
Not exactly our recovery, but very similar!!!
Dev wants you to format the system, data and cache partitions in ClockworkMod Recovery......
just be careful, and be sure you have ROM to flash, cos everything will be wiped
does it same like wipe data?
I love link2sd and would like to take it with me after I upgraded my Desire from CM7.2 to a CM10mod.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1945441
But even after erasing the A2SD Scripts, I get a message telling me ext3 is not orking with this rom, giving Fat32 a try is recommended.

You think it's worth the try to format the 2nd partition in FAT32? Or do you have another clue what could be the matter?
It says that sd-ext2 isn't working, because you probably don't have a second ext partition, and you won't need it.
Try going through settings and stop the app from searching for a second ext partition.
Hey - thx for your reply!
I was running link2SD ith CM7.2 before. So my SD should be still parted into a main partition for all my mess and a 2nd ext3 partition for link2SD to store the apps.
That's why I wonder why link2sd it is not finding it...

So, you have a fat32 main partition with all your stuff, and an ext partition for apps. Link2sd is looking for a second ext partition, as if you had 3 partitions on your sd-card. As yoy don't have a third partition, it gives that error.
Ummm - a second as if there were 3? That's confusing me. Why can't it find the ext as before?
And how could I point it towards that one?
anyone left who'sgot an idea?
Is the ext3 not found?
Is an ext3 not working with this ROM?
thx!
Ext3 work in this rom, in the developer thread an user use it.
First ics based rom i installed give me some trouble due to wrong partition alignment, previous working on gb. Can you check partition in your recovery?

Hi Folks,
Tried a few search with different word but my problem doesn't create any issues with the phone "itself".
My T989d is equipped with a microSD of 8Gb. Since I've started to root, ( stock rom ) my external storage was in the 50-60% full maximum... Now, I'm barely able to keep 347Mb of free space !! The only .zip file I kept on the card are the rom zip file I'm enjoying as a DD ( in case I don't like a new rom I'm testing once and then ), darkside superwipe and super cache. I can't even restore my apps that are back'd up...
Should I use less storage by backing up online via My Backup Pro and delete the other backup files ?
How / where can I find a list of files/folders I can delete to gain extra space ? Because since I'm testing roms, can't restore any apps since my external storage is always full !
I'm enjoying the Infamous 3.1 rom ( beside that I miss the swipe keyboard )
Thans for any advice or help, it is really appreciated !
Take a snap shot of ur storage in settings.

Ok so ur sd is full and ur internal has room. This is what i would do. Pop out sd card and put it an adapter and plug it i. To ur computer not using ur phone. Then see what u have that u want or buy a new 64/32gb card and transfer everything over and u will have plenty of room. Last time i had to do this it took a while to clear it out
