Request to ALL ROM chefs. (CustomRUU)

Hey people, just a suggestion, could all ROM chefs please package the ROMs using CustomRUU 4.3.
This will allow for autodetection of HardSPL v7 and also safeguards against any crap that might happen??
I forsee MANY MANY questions being asked as people update thier versions of HardSPL then find the autodetect feature doesnt work, and also that selecting manually anything apart from SSPL will not work.

That would REALLY help with making the latest guides as i would need to repackage ALL the roms urgh!!!

New wildfire user needs help!!

Hey everyone...
My friend recently bought this wildfire. Now he wants update to gingerbread. But he doesn't want to root. So can anyone please help me finding a guide to update. An official update would be better...

Not possible, because there isn't any official update out, and, in all probability, there never will be one.

No there isn't... The latest official update for Wildfire is 2.2 froyo...
However, he can sell the Wildfire and get a Wildfire S

Check your friend's phone, since he has recently bought it, I am pretty certain it must have Froyo.
But, in any case, it is available here: (Check the one's with the word 'Froyo' in them. The 1 RUU available is WWE 2.22.405.1)

Did you check his phone? Please do that before you flash this, because, if he is already on 2.2.1, then there is absolutely no point in flashing this ROM. (Android version can be checked in Settings > About Phone > Software)
But, to flash an RUU (EXE File), connect the Wildfire to the PC, and simply run the EXE file. It will do the rest. The only prerequisite is that the Sync drivers are installed. This can be found on the SDCard which came bundled with the phone.
Re-iterating it to you again - Check your friends phone. Don't perform this if his phone is already on 2.2.1

No, as I stated in my first post in this thread, there is no official version of Gingerbread available. The ones starting with 2.x in the filename is a Froyo ROM, and the ones starting with 1.x in the filename is an Eclair ROM.
It's not necessary to flash Asian version. You can get a WWE version as well. (Like 2.22.405.1).
Just one last thing - Has your friend checked for any OTA (Over-The-Air) updates? It can be found in Settings –> About phone –> System software update . In that way, if available, your friends Wildfire will be flashed with an India specific Froyo ROM. If there doesn't exist one, you can go ahead with flashing an RUU

Hi, why do you want that particular version? 3.06.405.1 was a leaked test ROM, the most recent official update is 3.12.405.1.
If you want the stock, un-rooted version of 3.12.405.1, go to the Development section, look at the "Roll Up Thread" sticky, and find the link to "Shipped ROMs".

I didn't know it was a test rom , and I thought it is the official arabic one
I need the official sense 3.0 with GB2.3.5 with arabic support (3.12 doesn't support arabic)
because I can't risk my business I only trust official roms
if you have any idea where I can find it please give the link

Some of the ROMs based on 3.06.405.1 were very stable, although it was a test ROM. I don't know if that's because it was mostly bug-free or just that the ROM devs are so good.

It was't the official arabic rom
the official arabic rom is 3.13.415

1. flash any official rom (sense 3.0 with GB2.3.5) that you can use.
2. install the "morelocal2" app from the market, and then choose the arabic .

@nustafa76:::there's a user (bigsoul) at ce4arab trying to port the official arabic rom and it needs 2 days or three from today I guess,but It will be (zip) not RUU

Is HTC planning to issue RUU for the M8 or not !?

I have been waiting for so long for the RUU . Anyone has an idea when is it going to be available ?
I just want be confident if i missed the phone up i could bring it back to default with a single file without the hassle of recoveries and flashing stock

HTC have never really officially released RUUs for their phones, they've leaked from service centres/HTC staff in the past. Some US carriers do release them but the unbranded ones are like rocking horse sh*t!

I have it for the US unlocked version but the forum doesn't let me post links.

A nandroid and firmware can give you almost everything an ruu can do.

Just find a "Show us your home screen" or "Pics taken with your phone" type of thread. One of the reasons those are there is to provide ways to help newer members reach their 10 posts. Pretty sure you're still able to add pics as an attachment when <10 posts.
