Are you using the stock HTC messaging app? If not, that could be the source. Also, have you installed any apps that have ads? That could also cause your popups.

I am using stock messaging app. I have a bunch of apps installed, but how can I know which one is the culprit.

It's not something to do with your carrier is it? For example, with Vodafone you can get stuff text daily from them. In the app draw there's a Vodafone one that I can select news, weather, jokes, horoscopes etc.
Thats an alert message. I stumbled across how to make that happen on any phone a while ago.
When you send a text message put !! As the first two characters. It then by passes all app settings and pops up.
Never posted as it would be abused.......

Hi guys
so as the title says how do I do it
Click the specific text message in the sms app and click lock message.

That only prevents user from accidently deleting the message.......
is there a way to lock the entire message inbox folder
I don't understand what you mean

he means password protection I think...
What I mean is that I want to be the only one who is able to view the sms that people have sent to me and only one who can view the messages that I have sent to people I guess some sort of password protection would do the trick

I know the way to lock entire message option. Just use app lock application, this will do the trick.

if using handcent sms, there is a lockable privacy box. i haven't used it so far, but it's an option. i don't see a similar option in the native sms app.
Hi,
This is my first post here
I noted that when I set the SMS settings to 1 line of preview, after some in the SMS list, I will see two lines of preview.
Has anyone had the same problem?
Yes, that is a bug. There will probably be an update for.

I have the Dot View Case which is supposed to display email notifications. I use Gmail and everytime I get a new email, I don't get the on-screen notification on the case. Does anyone have this problem or know the fix for it?
I think the case only works on the HTC system apps

The "fix" is to use HTC's stock email app.
The down side to that is you can't get Gmail push notification.
Sadly, the Dot View Case only works with HTC stock apps i.e. email, messenger, calendar etc.
I'm hoping that they update it to work with third party apps in the future.

This is only when sending a text message, otherwise they don't show up at all.

They are contacts stored in sim card, go to People and tap Phoebook, then tick SIM.
