anybody interested in a black/deep blue theme for UCLD2? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Yep, I'm baaaacckkkk lmao
Basicly I gut this theme I reworked (mixed it up on old leak, and ported it to new sources)
I'm using for my ROM, unfortunately I can't let the ROM out because of a stupid USB mount
Bug, the themes built from a majority of sources including some themes from here (clear glass and a few others), and a good number with my own touch xD, don't say I kanged em, I never said I made all of em, just simply made a few and packaged for the ROM.
I'd have to rework the contacts apk to release, I stripped AAB (Address bull) from stock and kinda made it more of a dependant..
The phone apk turned out flawlessly, similar to GB, or stock i9100..
My basis on total black was simply the screen on the sIIx and how darker themes can actually
Improve consumption
Didn't remove hardly anything code wise out of systemUI so that's easy porting xD my framework on the other hand would be best case scenario, bloated on stock UCLD2 trimmed right down xD (using it on stock norm would b stupid )
Here's some screens of the basic stuff (status bar (mostly came from a stock theme for first leak)), dialer (came themes from Clear glass port for t989 for GB I believe, in call I'm not even sure where it came from but its siiick ), total theme is about 90% done just gutta finish status bar icons and remove carrier and crap, and theme volume bar again xD (XML wouldn't work without decompile.. lmao) basicly just makes the entire phone dark blue/black with a "clean" feel

UPDATED: Manup Blue for Amon_RA 1.1.0H (23rdJuly)

Here is a ported theme that was originally done by Manup for Dude's G1 rom.
This is for those with a 32A phone and is the Amon_RA 1.0.1H rom.
I hope i have done it justice porting it. I have added a couple of my own preferences and will be adding more. It is a VERY works in progress.... a very quick port. Statusbar is now black. havent updated other shots.
This is template size so you can easily update it.
Theme includes latest launcher from Cyanogen with 5 home screens and extra apps in drawer.
I have also attached a matching dxtop theme if anyone is interested.
If you like it donate to manup456. He worked hard on this and deserves the full praise for it.
Grab it from here:
manupblack Template-RAv1.1.0H-signed.zip
####things to do:
- add the new modified launcher with customisable apps drawer ++
- black status bar with white writing (white clock not possible at this time)- FIXED
- fix status bar icons to match theme better - FIXED

that's nice but i am talking about Amon_RA's build.
To be absolutely honest with you; I think it looks horrific.
hehe... your opinion... but thanks for that.. i'll be sure to tell Manup you thing its crap.
dont like it, dont use it.
Don't worry, I won't use it. Disliking this theme doesn't mean I dislike everything he did. One should be able to recieve both positive and negative feedback. A solution to make this look more attractive would be disabling jpeg compression in your preview screenshots. Jpeg makes everything look horrible and blurred, especially hard reds, blues and greens. I'd start with enhancing that. Furthermode I'd not downsize the previews because that blurs the whole thing as well.
To state I didn't just suck the feedback out of my thumb:
You can barely read the battery status (looks like he modified the battery I did for my own theme).
The color for the background behind the time doesn't fit the other colors.
On the first screenshot you/he used 4-5 teints of blue... it's overly blue.
yeah i see your point.... didnt even look at the pics myself.... sorry about that... just stuck them straight in from what screenshot app took....
as for the blues- i see what you mean- never really looked at it that closely.....i did do the clock bgd colour though- with the same blue it was too dark to read clock properly and i was unable to edit services.jar to make it any other colour....tbh i think i prefer the different blues....is that an issue having too many blues? I am in medical field, not graphics....
i changed the battery on the black one so i could see it properly....good point.... i must have noticed that too.... or maybe it was coincidence i changed it.....
i prefer hero myself but occasionally i will try this- a bit dark for my likings though.....
thx for the feedback though- when i make one myself from scratch maybe i will get you to look over it- seems you have better eyes than me..... i really dont look that closely at it....
I'm an experienced theme designer I made dozens of Sony Ericsson themes in both THM+sysgfx and Flash Lite 2.1 Check "Photographer" profile at http://www.se-nse.net .
Maybe my critique was a little harsh, sorry about that
Too many teints of the same color can cause disharmony and the black and blue combination isn't the best there is... I mean, there is no variation in this theme. It's all black with a bit of blue...
To get you started: The blue you applied behind the clock is more purple than blue, try changing it to a more contrastive color like an almost white, and definately don't use harsh rectangles in a round shaped UI like Android Instead use rounder shapes, try Photoshop's rounded rectangle tool with a nice r. One of the things I do like about the theme is the "Android" text on drawn down statusbar in the 4st screenshot but it seems not to be entirely centered.
how to install Template-RAv1.1.0H-signed.zip ??
thanks
if you have Amon_RA's new recovery- 1.2.0H then you just stick the zip file on sd card, then go to recovery and select "Apply sdcard:choose zip". Select the one you want and off it goes.
if you don't have it, get it. In the mean time rename to update.zip and install via recovery as per normal rom flash.

[Q] Possible to Theme Samsung Apps (SMS/File Manager/Contacts)?

Guys, all these custom ROMs and themes are fabulous, but the Samsung apps apparently can't be themed easily or replaced -- notably contacts. They stand out all blue like eyesores -- no way to match them to Gingerbread, even the blue version of gingerbread which are a slightly different shade of blue.
Is there any possibility of theming them at all? I'd love to take a crack at it if anyone has an inkling of how it could be done.
Update: Just after I post this I noticed that everyones started theming the default apps as of their last releases (R64, Blue Steel etc.). Can a mod delete this thread then? I'll PM them quietly.

[THEME][JVB] Yet another AOSP stock-like theme

I've built this theme from pieces found in other mods. I'm not a designer nor a developer but I like to personalise what I'm using.
Also, I truly like the stock gingerbread look so, I've tried over the last few weeks various combinations of colours and images in the framework and applications. Because I really like how everything came out and maybe I'm not the only one liking stock stuff, I thought to share it.
The main credits are going to Ock and Darkyy because I've used mainly elements from their work.
This theme will NOT be maintained over time and I welcome anyone who think that certain things can be improved, to modify it accordingly. Of course, the obvious bugs will be corrected as it will be found or indicated.
The theme is tested on a deodexed JVB rom so I wouldn't recommend trying it on any other rom.
This theme has:
- AOSP lock screen only
- CRT screen off animation
- Green glowing overscroll
- lockscreen, phone and clock are sharing the same style for the interactive buttons (for unlocking, answering phone and turning off alarms)
- clean battery stats (no percentage)
- gingerbread launcher included
The theme is CWM3 flashable .. but please mount in advance the /system partition (from the mounts and storage cwm menu).
I personally use ADW launcher with gingerbread look and I've used the icons from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=870691
Enjoy (or not ) ...
http://www.multiupload.com/S0F8AY5VKJ
If someone wants I can provide the framework with the percentage over the battery (but will no longer look stock-like).
Nice theme, I love it!
Hi ro_explorer,
can you tell me where can I find (and how to install) only the AOSP lock screen...
I kinda like the stock TouchWiz (or I just got used to it) but the clock at the bottom of the locked screen is driving me nutz
thanks in advance!

[Q] How to find/apply compatible themes? (Desire, MIUI-au Froyo)

I know this probably seems like a stupid question, but how can I find themes that are compatible with my current set-up?
I spent a couple of nights trying to apply various themes without realising that:
- The theme has to be specific to my ROM (in this case, the final Froyo-based MIUI-au)
- I won't be able to get MetaMorph to work because Desires have /system locked down.
Honestly all I want is a nice dark theme that doesn't have dark-grey-on-black text, and the glow battery indicator. I can apply this theme which seems to work ok bar the unreadable dialog text, but I can't seem to get the battery mod to work through Theme-Manager, and can't find how to pull my current systemui.apk out so I can drop the battery bits in and replace it.
I'm assuming this is because the file structure is different in gingerbread?
I'm completely lost at this point, so any help whatsoever would be insanely appreciated.
*EDIT* Can I use the kitchen, by any chance?

I was about to suggest that.

Another good way is to use CM7 based theme that has Theme Chooser built in.
Third way is to use GO Launcher, which has a lot of customizable themes (although you need to pay for it)
Cheers... so how do I get the files required for upload?
I think it is easier to click on "Kitchen's list" and select the ROM you are using.

[Request) Simple Color Changed Theme

Hey everyone. I know that you all have way to much on your hands already but I just wanted to throw something out there.
I am looking for a theme that is not very far from stock, actually it would be exactly like stock except instead of green colors everywhere, you would have a different color like blue. I would REALLY love one where the green was changed to purple or a purple/pink color but I would probably be the only one to use it so blue is ok.
Would this be a hard theme to make since not much is changing but the green color? I wish I knew how to do it. I am using the EK02 UnNamed ROM also and there aren't many theme options so maybe this could be one of the firsts.
You can try the ICS theme we have, some people have gotten it to work on UnNamed, some havent.
It's not that it's hard to change it all to pink, it is just very time consuming to change every single piece to pink. It could be something simple like just the battery & network Icons but going all out and changing the overscroll glow, dialer, and the framework etc. is a ton of work. Most of it requires working with .9 files which can't just be edited like a normal .png.
i think a red one would be awesome. blood blood blood.
i can imagine changing everything would be tedious. tracking things down in every menu, etc etc.
requires more patience than i probably have.

I made (edited) a theme chooser theme once for my motorola cliq on cyanogen and it was very time consuming and I had to work with a png9 editor and it did kinda suck...
If I could find a theme out there that was very close to stock....I would have no issues editing the icons myself and then sending it back to the owner for resigning or whatever needed to be done. I just can't find a theme that is close to stock LOL.

You would just download a stock rom and extract the images.
