TWC TV - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

How can I hide my root from TWC TV app. I have no interest in cheating TWC, but I am not unrooting my phone.

OTA rootkeeper app would be the best solution

I just wish there was a way to block individual apps from seeing root. Kinda like LBE but for root instead of permissions.

With supersu from chain fire u can enable and disable superuser in settings by checking a box but I'm not sure if it will hide root from apps, I don't have anything to test it with but disabling superuser may allow it to work, I'm also not sure if that option is available in the free app cuz i bought the key when I downloaded the free version. I know it supposedly can keep superuser during an ota tho and its pretty quick to check and uncheck, especially if u have the app on your homescreen

Google movie rental app

Anyone rooted try the google video app after market music update? It says rentals are not available because you're phone appears rooted
They told us it wouldnt work if we were rooted from the start.

I missed that i guess.. Thanks for the info.
Give this a try?

Worked for me! Thanks for sharing

Most of the root-friendly APKs I've tried don't allow you to pin videos (ie save them to your device). I started using "temp root remover" from the market instead. It basically makes your phone look unrooted, allowing the video app to run like normal.
I like it because I just use Google video from the market and i can get all of the features from it. It is only a minor annoyance to run the root remover first- not really a big deal for me. Root remover doesn't require a reboot or anything so it's quick.
Anyway, it is another option.

Stop pre installed apps from updating?

I have apps like chaton and tmobile tv I don't use. When trying to un install them, removing updates is the only available option. .. the problem is, however, that it updates right after deletion again. Help getting this crap off my baby w/o root?

I don't think you can without root. Root doesn't have to be a bad thing. You don't have to flash a ROM or kernel. That's usually where you could have problems. If you just root you can install Titanium back up and remove bloatware.

Via google play store de-select automatic update.
With the app "Systen Panel" [google play] disable bloatware.
"Settings" -> "Data Usage" restrict background.
Don't what to see this app in the app drawer, "hide" it via app drawer settings.

[Q] Help with removing ads from google apps

On tmobile sgh-s3 t999 rooted
No.
What ROM are you running? Are you Rooted, if yes then you can use Adaway or Adfree or something like that. All are readily available in the market.
If not Rooted, not sure anything can be done for you. Kind of one of the basic reasons to Root IMO.
Edit: Just saw that your signature says Rooted. Then try Adfree or Adaway. They both work well.
I tried using adaway and adfree but a lot of the apps I have still has ads.
It does work but only for certain apps

Like which app? Let me see if I have them
If the app in question does not require an active internet connection in order to use the app, then I suggest using Droidwall from the market and black listing said app. It works great for the games I play.

Easiest way to remove basic superuser and install superuser elite?

Is it as easy as uninstalling the first .apk in the system folder and reinstalling the new one back in there? For some reason I don't know if that will work just that way with superuser.
Uninstall super user go to market purchase superuser elite and enjoy ??

Yea I thought I tried this like a year ago and stuff got messed up. Maybe I didn't change the properties after installing it and moving it into the system folder (with root explorer) but something didn't work.
Actually I may have been mistaken it might be just the unlocker you have to purchase on top of the basic app.
Dude you want the pro version well idk if it requires an unlocker or there is another standalone app for it but download from market "fast uninstaller " and delete the Super User app and install the other pretty easy..

Superuser elite just installs on top of superuser. It unlocks extra features. Not useful without the basic superuser.

Ad Blocker

Here is a good ad blocker for ROOTED phones that works on most GS4 roms.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1803573&d=1363234532
Hit the Thanks button if this is of help to you.
GS4 running Liquid Smooth at the moment
For reference, this was the adblocker that was on the ROM Toolbox.
Google has already removed 99% of ad blockers on the Google Play Store and we got lucky they didn’t notice ROM Toolbox. We have since then removed Ad blocker from the main screen on ROM Toolbox.

Also, this should be in the themes and apps.
Just what I was looking for.

What's the reason behind Google removing such apps?

their official reason was that if affected other app developers revenue from their ad supported apps, which is true. But the bigger more then likely real reason is because it messed with googles ad revenue. either way its not that hard to install a ad blocker anyway. just install a third party market (i use f-droid) and install adaway.
the reason jrummy removed the adblocking feature of rom toolbox is because if he didnt, the whole app would of been removed from the playstore. In turn, the posted app in the op is useless, its no longer maintained which means it wont block ads anymore (or will just block old ads, which is pretty much pointless)
you can download the ad block zip from goldeneye roms and pull out the hosts file and put it in system > etc
