I just wondered is there any way of viewing the words the phone has saved as I've been typing as I have noticed a few times I've saved ones I didn't mean too. I would like to remove these from the dictionary if its possible?
This might help. This is in Sense 3.6, and is possibly similar in 4.0. Won't hurt to try anyway. Go to Settings-Language & Keyboard-and select the 3 line button in the right side next to Touch Input. It will be at the very bottom

Thanks; I will try this on my replacement when it arrives later today and hopefully it will be the same for Sense 4.0
It's settings, language and keyboard, HTC sense input, personal dictionary and then edit personal dictionary.

Hi,
I flashed my Desire with the Cyanogenmod 7 and was wondering, where I can calibrate the screen. When using the orignal rom, there was an option to do so. Now the screen does not really respond the way I like, especially when using the keyboard.
Thanks
Heinzelrumpel
No clue? Can't imagine there is no solution.
You mean when it asks you to type something on the keyboard? I haven't seen that in ages... maybe its only on sense roms.

if you have the htc ime_mod you can calibrate that under the keyboard options.
just hit the options key in any input field and it will take you to the options.
then, calibrate should be under text input
Am I right in thinking this calibrates the keyboard and not the screen then?

Right. I actually ment calibrating the keyboard. This might be only on sense roms. That was my first guess too
I'm sure there used to be an easy way to change the keyboard type on the DHD, without having to go into Settings ie switching between QWERTY/Phone Pad/Compact.... I can't remember where this was.
Anybody know?
Hold down any text input box whilst selected, press input method and then choose your keyboard. Note that only the keyboards you have enabled in settings will appear.

When I hold down a text input box I just get the paste option... unless I'm misunderstanding...?
Thanks.

Do you have other keyboards installed AND enabled in Settings > Language & keyboard ?
Well, I've got the three standard HTC keyboards listed there... I don't see where one enables them as such, just a radio button to select the one you want to use.

Oh, I mis read your post. As already said before, it's that hard to change on Android.
The workaround is to install an additional input method; I installed Swype. So I have qwerty on Swype and switch to phone-keypad on the default keyboard.
Has anyone got the gingerbread keyboard to work on desire HD, mine keep foreclosing whilst it works flawlessly on my desire.

There's a new kb on the market called SwiftKey X and its pretty bad as.. I it can look throughout sms, gmail, twitter and facebook to pick out your typing habits and kinda learns how you type/talk.. Nice setup and the word prediction is outta this world.. for instance it will let you type a few words and actually predict what you're next words will be... Check it out I promise you won't be disappointed
* I'm just sayin......
Ya I have the original SwiftKey keyboard. SwiftKey X so far doesn't want to play nice with Keyboard Manager, and the hardware keyboard, though. I use Swype for portrait and SwiftKey for landscape and it's gotten stuck with the alt button a couple of times and I had to switch to another keyboard. But I think it'll be really good when they get the bugs worked out.

So I downloaded swiftkey free version yesterday to test it out. Its nice but for some reason it is still on when I flip out into super-text/qwerty keyboard time. This makes using the qwerty impossible because swiftkey doesn't recognize the keys you type.
I think its probably a software glitch has anyone experienced this? I found the option to disable it when using hardware keyboards but it didn't help..
Thanks

You probably want to disable autocomplete for the hardware keyboard. There is a setting for this in the SwiftKey 3 settings menu Advanced section. With Hard Keyboard autocomplete disabled it works great.

I noticed that and had it disabled. I think the problem is that sometimes when I flip out the keyboard it starts with the alt button so when I type it is all symbols and such. Simple fix is just to press that button when flipping open the qwerty, slightly annoying b/c its sometimes and not always but not a big deal.

Settings>Language and keyboards>htc sense input>find t9, or press back once, and look up in Language and keyboards.
Hope i helped.
Unfortunatily I thought that too, doesnt exist..
All i get is Current word and next word prediction. Which forces changes to unrecognized words.
Thanks still.
