Hey
I really want this phone but the fact it has no removable battery is a massive minus.
Has anyone discovered a work around for this? I mean like a small emergency charger that will boost the phone for 1-2 hours?
When i go to football i always tweet/FB heavily. And i find by 4-5 pm (5 hours unplugged) i need to think about putting my spare battery in. It isnt the best spare battery but will give the phone an extra 1-2 hours which is enough time for me.
Thanks
Why not a quick google search for mobile power storage? or mobile power?

That's what I did.

Are the Duracell ones any good for phones this high spec?
Are the others small enough to carry in your pocket?

Brand/price of the charger doesn't matter. I use 10 euro worth small charger that has connector built in, it doesnt use cable. I just plug it into my phone and it will charge it. I always have it in my bag, fully charged. Use it rarely, but knowing I have it there helps. It's also light enough.
a bigger version of this:
I have one of those 5000mah packs from asolar (theres alot of them on amazon) and it works great! Although it's way too large to fit into your pocket, i usually bring it when I'm traveling. It can fully charge a phone like the one X - Twice!
About the size:
Its about the same size as an SGS, but twice as thick.
Are the duracells any good? Would the one x get a fee hours of charge?

True, but the specs do. How fast the battery pack outputs power makes a big difference in how long it takes to charge the phone. Also some of the higher-end solutions can hold up to four full charges. Here's a chart...
Yes but I wanted cheap solution that works. So it charges pretty quickly as it gets really worm while charging my phone. It's not going to make my phone last a day, the purpose is to give me a boost when needed, nothing more, and for that its perfectly spent tenner.
I do have another charger that holds way more power and is able to charge my laptop, comes with multiple plugs as well as USB port, but I wouldn't carry that with me everyday like I can with the small cheap one.
I got a 7000mah one from Amazon for 20 quid, it's a cheaper less rip off copy of the 'new trent' chargers can't remember the brand though. Works a treat, charges with 1amp just as quick as a mains charger!

Looking at grabbing a couple extra car chargers and came across this:
http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...=1083301&p_id=6152&seq=1&format=2#description
There were a couple of reviews stating it works on the EVO, but I'm concerned about it being 1100mAh vs. 1000.
You'll be fine. Devices using power draw amps, chargers don't push them. Your car's alternator is probably around 70 amps output, yet the fuse on your radio is commonly 10 amps or less.
Its not rated at 1100 mAh its rated at 600 mAh.
What is the guide line for buying a car charger for the evo when you plan to primarily use gps via Google navigation?
I skipped the cheap eBay chargers thinking it'd be a waste, yet here I am on my third charger from different manufactures trying to find one that will chArge while using the gps.
What is everyone else doing? Are we just supposed to not expect these evo to not charge while using gps?
Also, today I drove about 35 minutes while using gps and using one of my new charges and it didn't charge the battery at all. Also I noticed that when I reached my destination that my evo wasn't charging at all, intact the charge led on the phone was off...and my phone seemed hot.
Sorry to hi jack but my question seems relavant.

I have had good luck with a Palm car charger I picked up at Radio Shack on clearance. It actually puts out enough to keep up with constant navigation use. I have actually had Google navigation running, while streaming Pandora to my stereo, and my Evo was not discharging, display was at 25%. It got pretty warm, but didn't lose any power, it didn't gain much either.
Real chargers start at 99¢ on eBay.
http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-SPRINT-OEM-...584865?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item20b3911b61
Circuitry in the batteries themselves limit how much amperage they'll allow in: more charger will not increase the power, nor shorten the charge time. It's a circumstance of using lithium as a power cell.
So your saying that a 300mah charger will charge our evos as fast as a 1 amp charger?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I recommend getting one of them htc charger that has the blue led htc letter on the back. Or get the sprint one that is very long. You can find them both on ebay for under $10. I have the htc one which charges quickly but fit too loose in the cigarette lighter and sometime loose contact. You can also try using a power converter and charge your phone using the oem home charger.
Unfortunately our evo does become hot when using gps for extended periods. I solved it buying a soundgate m2 mount and putting it near the car's a/c vent. Shouldn't be a problem when the weather gets cooler.

Opinions/recommendations on good portable chargers?
I don't want a spare battery, I want a small as possible charger that can give me an extra full charge (or nearly).
I'm stuck on what to order as I can't really tell how big or heavy some of them are :/

I'm also wondering about this, do they have the actual storage they claim? Hopefully someone can help us out here: )

i got a Duracell portable charger for christmas, its really cool and it has a 2000mah battery in it so it will fully charge my phone
i think it was like 10 bucks or something
I was looking at the TeckNet IEP387. It has a 7000mAh battery and it's costs £22,98 on amazon...
I'm using anker slimtalk, but it takes so long to recharge the charger I have nightmares over it It is worth 1+ full charge with some leftover and I love the built in micro usb cable.
In just purchased the new Trent imp500 from amazon for $40 and it looks to be just what you'd want. 5000mah. 4.7v output

Do you guys have pictures of them next to the phone at all? I want something small
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
If you're searching for something small you could try the Lindy portable power pack.
It's a 2200mAh battery with this dimensions: 21mm diameter x 129mm long and weight: 73g
Somebody knows if this external charger will work on the Galaxy Nexus?
www.a-solar.eu/EN/solar_chargers_power_bank_7000.htm
I use a Primo Power Core from Phonesuit. It's an 8200 mAh battery pack. It's about the same dimensions of the Galaxy Nexus, but a bit thicker.
can you show us a pic?
I just ordered a Scosche GoBat II. It's a 5000mAH external battery so it should charge the Galaxy Nexus battery about twice.
The feature that sold me on this unit was that it charges using a standard micro USB connector so that I only need one charger and cable for my phone, Bluetooth headphones, JAMBOX portable speaker, Galaxy Nexus and external battery.
The price on eBay is about $25, Amazon $45.
This is my lenmar sol 20 bought from frys for 32$.
It really has 2200mAh and is provifing a full charge to the sgn.

Get the official one from a Verizon store if you can. I didn't want a spare battery either since I have the extended already, but I will keep it anyway.
I have been using the extended battery on days that I feel like I won't need a backup battery. Other days, I use the smaller battery, and then I bring the other spare with me while leaving the extended at home.
I keep one battery in the charger at all times and one resting in the stand at all times. Works well so far.

Longer usb cable that connects to your phone, it also has a USB port at the top of the battery Anker so you can use different usb to charge different phones
Looks nice is it heavy;
You can carry it with you when
You need a extra charge right;

half the weight of the wildfire S. Since its very slim you can carry it in your pocket or if you are a girl, then inside your purse. Well worth my $20 IMO
I gotta get one of those... my phone barely lasts a day.. D:
so am I right in thinking you use this to charge your phone up when it's out of juice....and if so, how many times can it charge up the wfs? I'm thinking it could be useful for weekends away or camping trips etc?
Yes camping it would be great! The power bank is 3200 mah so it can charge the wildfire s 2 times from dead, they make a 8000 mah as well

a case with a built in battery, like these. AFAIK, no one makes them for anything except iphones.
those are cool but that wouldn't happen on our phone or most android phones. Its easy and cheap to make cases for iphone because the design stays the same for the most part, designers have more time to create the case and for android phones the design is always changing and people are always getting new phones so a case like that would be great but there isn't enough money to be made by the maker, the wildfire s is popular but not that popular, I could see this battery case being made for the HTC one X
Awesome batteries and long life and quality...
If you're looking for an OEM type battery with long life and quality... These are the ones.
They come with a 60% charge, I fully charged them and off first charge I got around a 7 hour cycle.. And after a few charging cycles.. With supplied charger I'm getting well over 10 hours worth moderate use.
I no longer charge through USB because of the heat generated. the supplied charger has both USB ports so you can either charge from the wall or USB. It charges to or from USB depending on which end of the USB cord you use.(I.e you can hook the wall charger to your computer/laptop USB port and charge spare battery or plug into wall and charge your phone and spare at the same time)

I'm on my second Anker 2700mAh in 3 years and can highly recommend them - quality product (as seen in the packaging alone). I got mine through Amazon in the UK, but supplied direct from Anker at £16.99:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Anker®-2700mAh-Battery-Samsung-GT-N7000/dp/B006BIF7AI
128 5 star reviews speaks for itself. :good:
I have an Anker 2700 for my Note. I also have year 2012 and a 2013 original Samsung batteries, and one that came with a 3rd party dock claiming to be 3000mAH and branded Mbuynow. For a couple of months I saved the BetterBatteryStats logs each time I changed the battery (I charged in a battery charger, not in the phone). If I hadn't named each log it would be impossible to identify which is which. The cheap/freebie Mbuynow battery performs as well in use but doesn't hold a charge as well as the others when stored, so I don't expect it has a decent life expectancy.
There is no advantage in using the Anker 2700 over the stock Samsung 2500, and a genuine Samsung item can be found for £12. The one advantage the Anker has is that you probably won't accidentally buy a fake Anker but you can easily get a fake Samsung if you're one of those people who kids themselves that the ebay/marketplace seller is offering the real deal at £5 or £8.
I always needed a power bank for my Nexus 5 because it dies really fast when I have LTE, GPS on using navigation or taking pictures on any tours. I came across to this one in Amazon, Vinsic Tulip 3200mAh Power Bank. I am very happy to say that I am more than satisfied with the quality and effectiveness of the product. It got delivered in 3 days and also available in Amazon Prime.

Built-in 4 LED indicators to show the charging status and battery level
Compact size which saves space and convenient to carry anywhere

It supports over-charged, over-discharged, over-voltage, over-current and short circuit protection, safe and reliable
First Impression:
After I opened the box of the product I found out that the power bank is charged up to 3 battery level light indicators. I charged it to 100% and to test I connected my Nexus 5 with it. It took little over than 75 minutes to charge my phone. Then I connected the power bank to my charger to recharge it for future usage. It took just more than 2 hours to charge it to 100% as I could see the battery level light indicator which helps you greatly to keep a track of the power level. I definitely think this product does its job perfectly and on time and it is a very useful product for someone like me. Now I don't have to panic about my phone dying when I am on any trip.

I like this unit since its just big enough for a full charge or just a quick top off but easy to carry around
This charger is nice so far I got the 6000mah one its nice small and charges the s6 edge fairly quickly.
