Samsung email app for ics - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Hey guys
I tried to push this apk on the ics rom. But it's always crashing after reboot.
I really like the functionality of this app as far as emailing and stuff so just want to know if possible.
Here is the link for downloading the app

Thanks

Can some one give me a link to stock froyo email or galaxy tab email that works on eb13?

Thx in advance

For Tab email:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=843527
Try searching in the Themes/Apps subforum.
As for the stock app, I guess you could extract it from any available rom as I'm too lazy to give you the apk from my phone atm.
Also I would suggest backing up those apps, seeing as they are stock apps, before you delete them. Use SDX-stock app remover or just use root explorer. midNIGHT rom's newest rom pack has a whole bunch of flashable zips contained in their BYOR edition zip.
The one i downloaded fron there gave me a lot of problems so i just asumed that i wasnt updated

Try fully removing the original apk, if it is installed, and/or delete data/cache in applications settings. The only thing that doesn't fully work as far as I know are Yahoo! mail accounts and Exchange accounts(somewhat, there maybe some fixes around somewhere). I use yahoo, so it's a bit of a pain, but i like the Tab Email layout. Also I heard that Gallery 3D has caused some headaches with battery drainage with some roms, Randy_T and Mammon88 removed it from their current release of Bonsai4All. Try quickpic. It has a tiny footprint and does what gallery 3d does sans the 3d part.
Hope it helps
It works thx

[REQ]Aokp sms

I had to revert to stock ics because all the ics roms didn't seen to fully work 100%. My question was is there anyway someone can make the aokp SMS an actual app? Because with the emoji and the actual ics look I loved it. So with permission from whitehawkx if some one could do that this would be awesome.

"Task Monitor" Samsung Apps

Ever since I switched over to paranoid cm10 there's no Samsung apps market. I've tried installing it but I know it doesn't work on our rom... so what I'm hoping is someone could possibly get me the apk for the "Task Monitor" only available on the Samsung market? I know I'm not the only one from using search that's looking for it. Please anyone who hasn't switched to cm10 can you download it and maybe email it or post it here? Thanks!

Well it installed okay but when trying to place the widget the process fails.. it puts it on my screen but doesn't respond when clicked and always shows 0. Hmm

I think a lot of those Samsung apps.. task manager in particular, are dependent on touchwiz and don't work at least fully on aosp roms
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1452004
Some guys on my old phones forums were able to mod the apks so they worked on aosp.. task manager included, maybe someone would want to ask them how they did it?

Thanks, downloaded it but it will not install. I have the install from unknown sources checked too. Should i retry a download?

Try manually moving it to /system/app with a root browser and rebooting after that

Im not rooted. Is that possible?
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda app-developers app
Is what possible? Rooting? Or moving the app to the system apps folder without root? Yes to rooting and is pretty painless, no to moving the app without root

Thanks for the quick responses. Ive rooted before but would prefer to stay stock at the moment. I'm pretty impressed with lgog as is minus the email app.

Ok, you talked me onto it. I rooted and copied the file over in root browser. It installs after reboot but doesn't seem to want to connect to hotmail or yahoo.

You set permissions to rw-r-r?
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda app-developers app
Yes, that is how the permissions are set. I notice that every app in that app folder has an odex file to go along with the .apk. do i perhaps need one of those files too?
Or maybe i need to set the servers up manually for hotmail and yahoo. Anyone willing to share those settings?
I know i know why in the heck do i have a hotmail and yahoo account. I use them for junk mail.

Oh yeah stock rom is odexed...here's another option for you. Download the odexed version of OpTimuS ROM and extract the email app and it's odex file and then try pushing those to your system/app folder. I'm on the deodexed version or else I'd do it.

I read the heading, but not the part about nexus.
Yeah, that's stock lg. The one Partimusprime game you should be the one you need. Aosp doesn't use odex I'm pretty sure.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but none of the stock Jellybean Touchwiz 4.2.2
Samsung apps will work if you flash any AOKP/AOSP/CM type roms.
But good luck in any case.
Well thanks for the info now I can stop my search sucks but atleast now I know why I couldnt find such a thing guess ill just have to live without it if I go to aosp
