Hello everyone! I receive my Dinc2 tomorrow and I am coming from the crappy locked down DX2 I was using cm7 on the x2. But since I am new to this device I was wondering what is the best solid running rom with everything working? The cm7 you have now? I would love to try ics but it seems most still have issues? Those I can play with those on my days off but need a solid phone for work.
Last question since I have never had a unlocked bootloader then will stock kernal work with most these roms? I already have the software downloaded to downgrade and s off. I will used the revolution way to do so and get cwr. Thanks in advance and I look forward to using this new device and hopefully meet some nice people like I did on the x2
Also for the record I did search around but being new to this site I was not sure what is up to date.
I recommend SkyRaider Zeus for stability or ICS if you're more daring.
Yo, go miui, I had cm7dx2 and never tried ace's miui, but miui dinc2 is awesome. I use the gb miui 1.12.90 because I like its stability. Never tried ics miui because I fell in love so much I haven't found time to switch!
Coming from cm7 dx2, I didn't think that zeus was as full featured, but hey maybe you'll like it.
And welcome to the community! Congrats on making the jump from big evil moto!

Thanks for the feedback! I have been reading as much as I can since Friday. Downloaded software to get the s off and cwr. I will make a nano back up and try out a rom. Miui I have to admit I tried Dragonzkiller alpha and stayed with cm7. I have heard great things about Miui so I might give it a shot. I know cm7 should also be good. I am just to new to know if there are any other roms better that I never heard of before. Well thanks again back to searching and reading post.

Where are you finding that version of Miui? I looked at the sticky with rom list in development. I do not see it except for ics version.
When I searched for sky raider only themes were coming.g up.

Thank you very much. This device has so many things it can do. It makes the DX2 look like a toy. And my screenname is cursed by it lol. So glad to leave motorola!
Lol if you have any questions about skyraider don't hesitate to email/pm me. I had that rom from when it was in beta status up until about 2 weeks ago I switched to aeroevans cm9. Skyraider is the most stable sense rom I ever tried.

Thanks!! That is very good to know. I was happy with cm7 before. I like the looks of skyraider rom. One thing I am not sure about on the x2 nanodroid did not change the kernal. Will in on this? So if I make a stock nano am I safe to flash away in a sense?

Nandroid backs up your kernel and rom. So say you nand a sense rom and has a custom kernel for it. And you then flash cm9 with aeros kernel. When you restore the nand you will have sense and the sense kernel again.
Also I ran gb miui from the time we got it till we got ics. If you have any questions about miui shoot me or ubuntunerd a pm.

Also to knipp21 thanks for the tip! I have read enough to know you are a local expert someone I can trust. I look forward to reading your post to others and learning what I can. Thanks again!
Also any preferred kernels or should I just stick with stock?

For miui you can do stock. I used aeros kernels back then. Now I use them on his ics rom. His v9 kernel works for aosp gb too so try it out.
Also one thing I do in miui is use with go launcher. Or create a folder in the stock launcher to use as an "app drawer"
Another rarely told thing is this phone is over clock able to 1.8 but best performance is around 1.5 and most ppl stay around 1.2 with the smartassv2 or on demand.
Anything else just search and ask me if you can't find it. Most of the x2 guys have been pretty good so far. Glad to have y'all here

Is it a significant difference if you overclock to 1.2Ghz? Mine is currently running on 1GHz, and I was worried about the battery life then.
Thank you all specially Knipp21 and litetaker. You both helped me out alot. I flashed miui in a matter of minutes. Looked very sweet but so new to me I am not sure how to get it set up and stable for me yet. So I will come back to it. Then flashed the CM7 what I am used to so I can get it ready for work tomorrow. I look forward to flashing different roms and wven trying the ICS. I love the fact that the nano backups actually change the kernal as well this phone is bad ass!

Hey everyone. My wife decided her mytouch slide is a little too laggy for her. I have rooted and flashed HTC phones and my vibrant with great success. I am going to do her phone this weekend but I need some help please. I do NOT follow this forum at all so I have no idea what [ROM]s are stable and functioning for everyone else. If I could please get some input from you guys that have been here and have tested these out it would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance

If you want Froyo, Cyanogen is very good if you don't need bluetooth: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=755118
If bluetooth is important for you, CR_Mod is said to be an excellent 2.1 ROM. I haven't tried it personally, Froyo is too yummy for me to go back. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=7534187#post7534187
Good luck!
The dopio oc kernels are also very stable esp at 768 and 806. Just use set cpu app to maximize battery life.
The cm nightlies are also usually very stable.
The slide reloaded rom is also a sweet themed version of cr's full ota rom.

Yeah, for my uses, Cyan with the dopio kernel is the way to go 100%. But you never know, once you get the ENG flashed, let your wife play with all the ROMs she can handle until she finds one she likes. ROM Manager makes it ridiculously easy.
What about the galaxy slide rom by infinitybiff? Anyone tried that? I don't use touch wiz on my vibrant but the wife might like it. Still leaning towards cyan. Just need something fast and stable for her. I'm gonna have to theme it for her myself cause there is no one doing that.

cyanogenmod or crmod
I just flashed Galaxy Slide Beta the other day after using CR for the longest time. its the first ROM that i have flashed (and there have been many) that i didn't immediately flash straight back to CR. i am having a minor trouble with the color scheme in the notification pull down and i haven't tried all the features yet... (i.e. bluetooth, tethering, and maybe one or two more) but all in all i love it!

The dopio kernel is integrated into cyanogenmod 6.1+, no need to flash it over again, but other roms you will have to flash it.

Cyanogenmod is froyo, and based off of the AOSP source, so it has a more vanilla flavor to it. CR_Mod is just the rooted stock OTA ROM with a wifi tether, and a2ext built in. CR_Mod is also eclair, it just all depends on what you like better, the latest vanilla customizable stuff, or the more stock HTC sense feel, with all of the t-mobile stuff.
Back story: I know the difference between most ROMs and have used MIUI, CM, and Myn's ROMs. I've been running CM7 lately and with this GPS still broken, yes I even did the fix by switching back to a sense based ROM; it helped for awhile, and the ROM just getting... stale to me I want to try a new one out. I liked MIUI when I was using before but with 4G finally in my area I don't wanna to drop it just for MIUI.
Question: What ROM would you recommend?
SalvageMod and/or Synergy when it is released to all. Give VaelPak a try, too. You should be impressed.
posting & replying via the XDA Premium app.
Thanks. I'll keep an eye out on the first two and will look into VaelPak.
Vaelpak is a great ROM. I used it as a daily for a while. I haven't been on his website lately, so I don't know if he's updated it in the last few months or not.
To me, the best Sense ROM is Koni's. Never had a FC or found anything that didn't work perfectly. And, it's stunningly beautiful.
The Giger ROM I'm using now is really cool, but after 2 weeks, I'm starting get a few minor FC's, which I notice happens with a lot of ROMs. Like they start to breakdown after awhile
Yeah the best sense rom to me is also konis elite series but right now im running the rom end of days.

I might try the Missed Me ROM, but no one's giving much feedback on it.

i say go with cm7 or shooter rls 5.5 both are great roms but cm7 will give her a bit more battery life.
So what we're Reeeeally trying to say is, They're all great roms. You'll just have to try them until you find the one that suits you...(meanwhile, behind the facade of an innocent sounding phone hacker, drlzanej is underhandedly trying to create another "Flashoholic". dun,,,,dun dundun, duuun)

I'm defiantly a flashaholic. That's the biggest problem. There are many ROM's out there that I've tried. I prefer a sense 3.5 ROM but it lacks 4G among other things. I put her on the MikG ROM and it seems to be running fine. I had a stock OTA on there but the phone kept getting FC's however; I recently found that she's been in Titanium Backup removing files that she has no idea interact with the OS. Silly wife, tweaks are for peeps!
Don't know if this is solved it not...but If you want sense I recommend Tommy tomatoes classic, for soso it's decks all the way...find one that works with a2sd and your set

Hi all First off wanna say that I love the dinc2 forums and the community here is great! Now that the sucking up is done im just wondering is there a stock debloated 2.3.4 rom available for the dinc2? It may sound noobish asking but I know that you guys out there have much more time on these forums than I do. I have been rooted for about 6 months and have flashed all sorts of roms, but most have been ported and they all seem to have they own little issues. CM7.2 is my current go to rom because it is stable...but, i still have wifi and 3g issues of disconnecting and not wanting to connect for a while after that...its just frustrating. The only rom that was all around good with my wifi was my original 2.3.4 rom which i do not have anymore. I tried to search the threads but the search is currently down. Soooo...do you guys know of a stock 2.3.4 rooted (preferably debloated) rom out there that i can try? :fingers-crossed: Thanks in advance!

What do think i should try next!?!? Thanks for your opinions for i know everyone's preferences are different but nonetheless, they are appreciated!!

You should go to the development section and read each rom description.

Well, that looks like what i am going to have to do. I actually read them already before i posted this but i know that devs do not put all the features and goodies in the list. That is the only reason i reached out for opinions, which i normally do not. I was trying to take a short cut but I have no problem trying them all lol. Thanks for your advice! It is appreciated.

I definitely know what you mean. but in my case, it's been the FreeGS3 Rom that's been occupying my attention for months. Battery life has certainly not been up to snuff as of late in this Rom (stock kernel), so would you recommend Goodness?

The only reason i would recommend Goodness to you is if you like being stuck on a rom for months! It has everything i have ever wanted in a rom including roms i have flashed on the OG epic lol. I been flashing for a few years now and i have not been so impressed with a rom as i have been this one! Give it a try but be forewarned!! Let me know what you think when you switch!

Couple of things: They update on their homepage more than here on xda, so if you wish to keep up with this rom..that is a good place to start. Also, did i mention multiwindow works flawlessly on here!!?? Happy Flashing!!!
I do like Goodness too! Now I think im going to try Unofficial AOKP Jellybean 4.2.2

I flashed Unofficial AOKP 4.2.2 yesterday, and coming from the M snapshot of CM10.1, I am finding it very enjoyable. I appear to have better battery life now, and I find the overall experience better.

I just tried MOAR rom....i can dig it....but after a couple of days....time to switch lol....going to give FREE a chance again. I miss multiwindow..wahhhh lol...i love my AOKP and CM series but i tend to miss the TW experience ...weird huh! O well....gotta love our options though..Team Droid for life lol
The new MOAR M6 ROM is as solid as they come. I have used everything including aosp, and keep coming g back to the MOAR ROM. Give it a try. With the Morphology built in, you can pretty much theme it a million different ways to your liking.

I have been using the Goodness rom for some time now and love it.. I have trid MOAR and wasn't that impressed. On my wife phone I have wickedsensation, because she loves the pink theme.. I do not plan on using any other than Goodness, and can't wait to see if they make a update for the MA6. I thought I downloade it already from another thread, but it was the fix for the hidden prlwrite. I guess with the new MA6 you can't write a new prl..
Ha...i feel ya. Well i actually flashed 3 different roms yesterday < Jbombed, Moar, Free> and yet i came back to Goodness. I have not seen, from my point of view, a more complete rom. I mean i have awesome batt life, blue themed, options of theme, tremendous amount of customization, fully functional mwindow, and settings galore. I just dived into the kernel world and trying out this Ktoonesz kernel. I have no idea what it is doing thus far but from what i can tell, its not harming it in any way lol. This rom to me....is exactly why we root! But the one thing i love about it is that every rom is different like everyone is different and we are blessed to have options. Different strokes for different folks! Happy Flashing!!!!
