I'm current running CleanGB using a few of the apps, but I may switch to CM9 this week. I was curious if any on CM9 is already using them or perhaps something else.
Edit:
I had also found this collection on Rootzwiki, but I'm not really able to compare just yet.

I've run both inverted app sets, usually it's just a matter of who updates the fastest..
haven't had any issues with either set of apps.
Wow, thanks for this. Installed a few from rujellus22 (the first link), and they fit awesome with the People's ROM!

I'm running CM9 beta2 and used the Rootzwiki versions. I backed up with titanium backup, and then uninstalled gmail, mms, gplus, contacts, calendar, voice, youtube....and then installed the inverted versions through cwm. Oh before I uninstalled the apps, I cleared the data through the "manage apps" menu of each gapp that I replaced. Working just fine all day.

I've been searching for almost two days for an inverted Google Talk app that will actually work on the GS3. I've tried the ones posted by Rootzwiki, and some CWM flashables posted in these forums for various ROMs, but nothing has worked yet. I've ended up with non-inverted apps or immediate forced closes.
I just stumbled across some random rom on Youtube, of all places, for the Galaxy Nexus that claimed to have all inverted apps. It had a download link for the apps only, so I figured, what the hell? I'll give it a shot. I just pulled the Talk.apk out of the flashable zip and put it in system/app the old fashioned way, and now I have a working, inverted talk app! I've gotta give thanks to the guy who made the rom I pulled the app from. You can see his work here:
http://droidmodderx.com/galaxynexus/rom-eclipse-v1-0-aosp-4-0-4-4512
This is working for me on AOKP from Task and Ktoonsez, so I don't know if it'll work on a stock based rom. Be sure to back everything up and go through the usual precautions before trying this out. The app is attached below.
I added a couple of screenshots. Sorry if they're not the greatest quality, or the censor bars are too obtrusive. I'm on my work laptop and the only thing I have to edit images is Powerpoint

Inverted Talk works perfectly fine for me.
Sent from my unlocked Motorola Atrix.
the rootz wiki one worked fine for me.
Hello,
I am looking for an absolute barebones / minimalistic ROM. I have checked the dev forums and looked through them, but nothing stands out as being literally the bare essentials.
I literally just want what makes the OS run, no bloatware, no excess settings. Just absolute minimum.
I am looking for a stable (!), good-battery (!) and bare-bone (minimal) ROM for my LG Nitro HD P930.
Any suggestions on how this can be achieved with any of the roms would be great if one doesn't already exist. I thoroughly dislike processes running in the background. I have no need for things like wifi direct, torch, calendar, calculator etc. I know most of these I can take out, but I'd prefer a rom that already has the absolute minimum.
Thanks
You could flash HoNo!'s stock roms and then use Titanium Backup to remove everything you don't want.

That's unfortunately a part of my problem. There are so many apps in ParanoidAndroid in titanium backup that I don't know if I can safely remove. I guess i can freeze 1 by 1 and uninstall it all. Thanks

I believe Mattman is referring to something like this: HO!NO! P930 AT&T Official V20c CWM-Flashable!, but this does have all the stock apps which you will need to uninstall/replace.
Surprisingly Mattman didn't mention his own ROM: [ROM][P930] Liquid Nitro. Which has most of the unnecessary apps already removed.
Though, I feel that you are looking for an AOSP ROM, like the experience you'd get running a nexus device? A completely vanilla android OS. The closest thing you'll probably find is CM9.1, for ICS, or "stable" CM10, for JB: Cyanogenmod 9 & 10. Cyanogenmod is based on the AOSP that Google creates for the nexus devices. The CM team has made tweaks and added functions and apps that are not in AOSP, e.g. FileManager and Apollo.
Gotcha, thank you. What I may end up doing is finding a ROM that has what I want in it, then 1 by 1 deleting apps to find whats stable on and off. A lot of the google backend apps and things are mainly what I want to take out.
Things like
dev tools 1.0
document viewer 4.2
download manager
drm protected content
exchange services, etc etc
There is just so much stuff. Was hoping there was someone with a completely bare minimum to the point where I literally CANNOT turn off anything else or it doesn't work. That's more or less what I am looking for.
Time to experiment!
Thanks again

I recently upgraded to jellybam and noticed it was missing almost everything that I
needed to function with on a day to day basis and this is okay, except for some things.
I already looked allover XDA about this and noticed there really is not much on the topic
so I feel help is needed at this point.
What I am wondering the most is where is the video player...?
Also, the camera layout on jellybean sucks, is there anyway to change this?
Any help is appreciated!! Thank you
Well i guess the rom comes with lesser apps than a rom would from the factory. As for a video player i have super video and i'm sure theres a few other good ones. About the camera layout, i don't think you can change that.
Edit: And i am also running jellybam.
Did you update to a custom rom, or did you update through kies. Either way, when you updated you could have restored your phone through google and all your apps shoudl have re-downloaded onto your phone. if thats not the case, open up your play store, hit the menu button, and tap on my apps. after that you'll see a list of all the apps you've downloaded and you can re-download them.
as far as the camera on jellybean not being great, you could always flash a different camera onto your phone if you are rooted. 4.2 camera is super nice.
and i just started using MX player and its pretty nice. Free and has a lot of codecs.
In a lot of Roms you have to reflash "gapps" search XDA for latest version. It is all the Google apps.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
The jellybam rom comes with gapps i think he's talking about some samsung native apps.
If you updated to a stock firmware you should get the GAPPS automatically now if you install a 3rd party ROM like AOKP or CyanogenMod you have to install GAPPS manually just Google it you can find lots of information on it online
Dunno where found this but I got it and I remember looking all over for it (dunno if you had same problem) but anway here is it inverted googleplus 3.3.1 and if you need any other inverted apps ask me and I will post what I got I pretty sure I got a few. I found them all on xda though so you can to but some took me awhile like MMS
Anyway GooglePlus is Here
Inverted MMS
Inverted Contacts <--- Had hella time finding that its how I found baked bean rom where its from
I used android comander to install these worked fine if not you can use droidexplore also. I dunno if u can push them in or not I installed as system apps. Also uninstall the apps before.. and make a back up before just in case. Sometimes things don't work for others... if any of them work say thanks if don't you didn't loose anything because had a back up later

Inverted Talk for TW JB
xxsicknessxx,
I may be grabbing at straws here but, I have looked extensively and posted for info on an inverted version of Talk that works on TW Rom. I see many people recommending (in error) versions for AOSP or deodexed versions that crash a stock TW phone.
If you happen to have one of these, info on where it can be found or even an explanation of why it has not been done, it would be much appreciated.
I am using several other inverted apps (even 4.2 versions) that work just fine. Confusing!
Thanks
Your inverted contacts db link dosent work

Not being able to turn off the nav bar is a deal breaker for me. Liked the rom, but no need for the nav bar on the S4.

This is just an early alpha, a test to see if the frameworks will run correctly.
The nav-keys are there in-case HW keys are not functional so feedback can still be given and they can be disabled by removing:
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
in build.prop, this text entry turns the on-screen softkeys on and removing it will disable them
Edit: the next version-up will be far more 'complete' this was just built today on a CM10.1 base that was just built today :x
No more updates?
Google Account
Cannot find a way to add Google Account. Only offers Exchange, MI Cloud, Mail??????
I was able to setup Google in Browser with my GMail account, but......
And when I try to start playstore after installing the apk,, it starts then goes back to the icon. I think because it needs the Google account info first.
I do have all the other recommendations in FAQ working, including root, etc.
FIXED: http://en.miui.com/thread-3998-1-1.html
Go to this page. Create an account to allow download of the Google apps installer. Make sure you enable all of the settings including ok to adding Google framework. After doing all of this you will see a slew of Google downloads including the playstore app. My mistake was locating an apk file and installing standalone. That will not work. I uninstalled that APK and used the link I show. Then it works

I am an old time MIUI user back in my Nexus One days when I left IPhone for my first Android. Coolest MIUI stuff is the ultimate amount of themes out there. It does take a lot of extra effort in customizing the way you like a setup, but I find MIUI so refreshing compared to the typical stuff available. I actually find this really responsive including consistent 32Mps download speeds speedtest.net in my home here in Las Vegas. To bad more developers here aren't into working with MIUI. Even though it's still using 4.2.x, everything I need works, including Samsung WatchOn that was posted here on another ROM as a standalone recovery installation with a Kit Kat 4.4.x ROM.
Have you tried the full latest MIUI download for the I9505. Been trying to download that for the last three days. REALLY slow site
Miss the days when there were those English packs that pretty much weeded a lot of the Chinese stuff out, but I can live with that too :good:
Edit: Just saw your join date here same as me...Jan 2010 and you also had the Nexus One. Probably ran into some time or another back in those olden days if I did a search here......
PPS...not much traffic so I am taking a little libery in thread drift too

OK, a new update is coming tomorrow.
Now that I understand this phone a bit more I can do a more stable version with the next revision.
I'm going to also include the software camera that comes with Xiaomi phones as well, I'll need feedback on it so I'm going to put it in another flashable zip independent of the download link for MIUI.
Also 4.2.2 is cool and all that but I've been prepping a 4.4 base for MIUI v6 as well and working on a solution for OTA update as well.

I am totally sold on going back to MIUI. I forgot how much custom stuff was possible. So include me. More than happy to test stuff too before posting if you want help. Spent three days trying to download from the MIUI world site the slighter later, but bloated version which I assume would have been compatible. I9505. But failed at installing in recovery. I have one app that refuses to work correctly with 4.3 or 4.4 updates, but works perfectly under 4.2, but I can live with updates to newer. I basically have to delete cache files everytime before starting the app. Annoying, but do-able.
PS...what local folder are themes that are downloaded stored in. I couldn't get a .mtz file to install when I manually went on the MIUI world site. Using the THEME app on the phone works. Just have to get past the Chinese texts to figure out how to individually apply separate items such as lock screens etc.
EDIT: The prior MIUI theme installers allowed to pick and choose what aspects of a theme you wanted to install. Could not see how to do this currently, unless I'm missing something.
Keep up the good work...thanks!!!
