Hi,
I'm working on a ROM with ItsMeBdon and Shawn and we're upgrading our current zip to ICS. I believe we need to replace the kernel, I'm not sure how to update the modem to the current. Could we get the boot.img and some pointers?
Here you go, buddy! Just extracted it!
You could've done this yourself, there are plenty of archive tools out there that can open the Official ICS Package: I927UCLH2_I927UCALH2_I927UCALH2_HOME.tar.md5
Okay, one more thing. I've been busy lately so haven't been able to make a flashable zip. Can I get the system dump from anyone who can do it? Thanks

Hi guys, I know a few people have asked this in the past. And some members answer saying that instead of creating an Odin flashable tar, download the .img from ClockworkMods site and flash it with adb or Android terminal. But i dont feel comfortable with that method as i screwed up my S3 once by doing that. Anyways, While reading one of the posts on XDA, i found a member has released a toolkit for the Galaxy Note 2, and in one of the screenshots i saw that this tool kit has a feature of converting a ClockworkMod .img file into an Odin flashable .tar file. So i downloaded the tool kit and followed the instructions. And i successfully converted the .img i downloaded from CWM's website into a Odin flashable tar.
Now my predicament is: I already had a .tar who someone posted online that i successfully flashed to my phone, so i compared the MD5 of the .tar i had just created with the proper .tar and it dosnt match. However, the MD5 of the .img file inside the .tar's they both match just fine. So my question is that the file i created, is it safe to flash onto my S3? Or because it was created with the Note 2 toolkit can only be flashed to the note 2? For now i am fine and dont need to flash CWM on my phone. However, in the future and if one of my freinds needs me to flash a new version of CWM on their phones (S2, Google nexus etc) i would like to be able to download the corresponding CWM for their phones and convert those to a .tar file i can flash onto their phones without having to search the internet for a .tar file someone else created. I am not sure if i am explaing this properly so if any part of my post does not make any sense please feel free to ask. Thank you.
Below is a link to the article with the note to toolkit:

Why don't you download gs3 toolkit?

There is a similar toolkit for S3?? And can i create an Odin flashable tar file from a CWM .img file with the toolkit?? But still, can i use the Note 2 toolkit or the S3 toolkit to convert CWM .imgs to tar files but for other phones too? Like the S2 etc.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1746665
It has all the same features as note2 toolkit but this one is for s3

Got it thanks! But my question is that can i use this tool to convert .imgs to tar's BUT for other phones along with S3's? Like for the S2 i727, or Google Nexus etc??
I'm not a 100% sure. Other devices have different partitions and if you wright in a wrong one you'll brick it, but I've noticed that unlike making a cwm flashable .zip when you make a .tar you don't need to specify to which part of partition to flash it as long as its named recovery.img and not cwm-touch-recovery-6.0.1.4.img or something Odin will flash it in a right place.

I see, the Toolkit, it tells you to rename the .img file to recovery.img and put it in the input folder, and then you press go and it outputs the Odin fliashable tar file in the output folder. So its safe to convert for other phones? I need to convert CWM.img for a Samsung Galaxy S2 i727 into a tar to flash it on the S2, than install Cyanogenmod 10. Any idea if doing this is safe?
Hi, to everyone owners LG G PRO!I have extracted system.img and boot.img form official android 4.4.2 KitKat kdz file. System.img easy open and extract with DiskInternals Linux Reader for Windows.
I have add root permissions and init.d support in boot.img.
Hopefully some devs here make flashable zip for CWM (TWRP).
If you need other bin(img) file please let me know.

Hi men, one question, this would be compatible with the E980 or other versions of our G Pro? Thanks and fingers crossed to prove KitKat.

I made a flashable zip with the help of the Android Kitchen out of these files
After some "problems" with the updater-script, I managed to flash it onto my e986, but I'm unable to turn wifi on, and it doesn't recognize my simcard.
And it also doesn't recognize my sdcard.
I've attached the logcat, maybe someone with more experience can help
EDIT:
I'll upload my zip file to google drive, but this can take some hours (1.5 GB with 1MBit upload...)
Btw, the Super User from the Kitchen doesn't work, and the rom is full of bloatware.
A step in the right direction!
Now everything must be working and I would flash the zip. Or I just wait for something official for my E986... Hmmm... Difficult

So the ROM can be flash it in all variants of G Pro, E980 for example? The bloatware can't be a problem if ROOT work properly and can install Titanium Backup... and one last question, this SO has Spanish language in it? Thanks for all you time creating a port.
Here the I rom flashed https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_tYab8Gur8YOE5mQWxMNnBDVW8/edit?usp=sharing
it was already 4 am here (I fell asleep afterwards) so nothing changed
The rom boots, but wifi and 2G/3G/sim and sd card are not working.
SuperSU doesn't work either.
Only flash this if you know what you are doing ^^
You can modify it like you want, and try to make it work completely for the E98x variants
EDIT: I need my phone fully functional the next few days, so I can't play around with it :/
Everyone is free to use this
Can flashing radio solve the 3g/2g/WiFi problem?

What a shame, I'm switching to the G Pro. Awesome work on the G btw despite some minor issues here and there
This thread helped me a lot ,
Download the F240S_V20C_Kitkat_4.4_LGViet.zip and KK-E980-STOCK-LG-by-madmack.zip and Build-prop-rev01.zip(on the thread link I gave you) do not use one provided, search for one with 3 at the end(updated), Build-prop-rev03.zip
Here is the link of thread(use this ROM non else) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2699376
Q&A for F240S V20C Kitkat on E980
Installation instructions
1. From your 4.1.2 stock ROM, rooted, cwm (I used 6.0.4.4) installed. Boot into recovery cwm.
2. Do a wipe of cache
3. Install only the ROM downloaded and wipe cache.
4. Memory card won't show, its OK ,don't panic, root your ROM using roottool.kitkat.zip( search and download ).
5. Reboot system and confirm root.
6. Reboot to recovery and flash KK-E980-STOCK-LG-by-madmack.zip and Build-prop-rev03.zip in that order .
7. Clear cache and reboot system.
(Microphone and SD card problems solved permanently)
My device is E988. It also works for all other E98x .
(I Ocieno) Not taking credit for files preparation, only got this info for your use from senior developers in our Forum. Thanks again.

lIs there a way to go back to stock recovery without flashing whole firmware?
Or better yet, how to update with OTA when I have TWRP and magisk?
