After my upgrade to bada 2 OS on my S8500 I was installing some apps on the cell via Kies. While doing that I had launched Samsung Apps on my cell and it asked to upgrade. I selected yes...after the upgrade I cannot launch Samsung Apps on my cell, it just shows the splash screen and then exits. I think due to installing apps from pc and cell at the same time might have caused this. Is there any way I can change the Samsung App application on my cell?
Try with hard reset....beckup first ofc
I've loads of applications installed, so was thinking if I could avoid hard reset.

Hi,
I just bought the phone and I am still mastering the beast.
I finally managed to install Kies and I downloaded couple of Samsung apps. Everytime I click on Samsung apps, I get a warning saying "This phone is not supported by Samsung apps". I am on JF6 firmware. I was able to download but unable to install as the install options seems to be greyed out. Also, in Samsung apps, under the "Select a phone" option, I get S8500L and S8500 as the two options.
Can someone please help. I have the stock phone as is.
That's because they (stupidly) don't have any Android apps on there yet, they are all Symbian or Windows Mobile.
Amazing! (in a wrong way). Thanks for clarifying. I will download Android apps directly through some other way.
the only way to install samsung apps, is via the samsung app itself inside the phone
don't use kies
then the rest of the apps are in Android market
Damn..i have the same question in my mind. I want to install Samsung Apps on my phone
any news if is it possible to install samsung apps on a galaxy s running ics from teamhacksung??
still no ...
Hello, mates!!
I have a little problem with Dark Knight game in my unrooted Galaxy Note 8 (4.2.2)
About months ago i had version 1.1.3 installed and worked just fine, but i had to delete it because i needed internal storage space.
This week i tried to install it again, but when i start new game and tryin to play intro video, the game freezes (black screen with only skip icon showing but inactive).
Had someone the same problem? Is there a fix?
I have tried almost every version but the same things happens.
So it's probably the android version or some settings fault since i used to play this game...

Run saferoot and root your device. You can get it on the Easy way to root.. thread.
Once you root, download Ti backup and have it uninstall orphan apps. Somewhere in the system there are files that are left over from your game.
Safe root will not flash increment your counter so performing stock update will function normally. The only issue is Samsung Book Hub will not run in rooted devices. You can hide the root using substrate and Rootcloak to allow apps that do detect rooting to function.
If you are not willing to saferoot... then backup your apps and settings with Kies, and do a factory reset of your system. Then restore your apps and settings before installing your game.
If the game still does not run properly after any of the options I gave, then it is possible you are side-loading part of the app. Some apps like Samsung's Link will not side load properly without permissions and data properly transferred.
Since your not rooted at this time, doing any manual work to fix the issue will not be an option..

Wow, thanks for your advice... I don't feel like rooting this baby for a while.. but i will try factory reset when i find time to.
I'm not sure i understood what side-loading is... but i'm 100% sure that somewhere in the system there are files that are left over. I wish i could find them or perhaps a Kitkat update sometime soon maybe help. Anyway, i'm going to try new games and then come back with this...
So TIFU by losing my iPhone. And i ****ed up even more by updating my backup spare Galaxy Nexus from 4.1 to 5.1 directly without clearing data or doing any background study. Simply went to update and there the plight started. I was connected to Wifi but my Play Store wasnt working. Was saying no network or something on those lines with the "Retry" button. So i thought uninstalling Playstore and reinstalling would be a good idea. NOT. It wasnt even close to the right step, now everything is crashing and I dont know what I should be doing next. If someone can tell me the best way to get to a new installation of 5.1.1 on this device and root it, it would be great. I right now have CWM recovery 6.3.x(?) installed. I wish to at least be able to install apps from the appstore and update the 2 year old applications. Please help.
I have an unlocked Fold 3, purchased directly from Samsung. When I try to do the OTA update to Android 12, after the reboot into the updater (the robot screen), it fails every time at 25% and then reboots back into 11. I have verified Google play services are up to dare.
Anyone have an idea other than doing a factory reset and then trying?

Are you taking an OTA update that was pushed to your phone? Or are you trying to manually update it?
If it's the OTA, use Odin to do a fresh install. You will likely end up losing stuff but that makes it a clean install. Backup everything, screen shots for things you can't just backup, and you should be back in the saddle.
There's not much else you can do via OTA. Even Sammy will suggest a reset, but they aren't much help anyway.
Try using Samsung smart switch through a pc. Connect your phone to pc and there you can select update and it shall update your phone. Hopefully this will pass without issue.

leads me to google help page and asks me to do steps 1-4 above
I do not want to reset the phone, pain pain pain
Can you please help me resolve this issue?
I been having the same issue. Im glad it's not just me.. have the same phone. Im on mint mobile.
Like you, tried all that you have listed, nothing works.
Contacted Samsung and they said ' well since you have tried the basic methods, need to send it in to be looked at or go to a certified Samsung servicer.' which is like 3hrs away from me.
Like you, I am pondering doing an factory reset.
Did some more scouring, and came across this.To disable the device care...worked for me. Hope it works for you.

Playstore is a mess and a battery hog. I use it as little as possible.
I package disable it. I avoid "sampling" apps on Playstore unless I need to; they can damage the system making a factory reset necessary sometimes to repair the damage if you can't undo it. It's rare but it can happen.
I use ApkExport to backup all my apps. This is what I use if I need to reload, it's much faster and more precise.
Updates and upgrades can and do break things.
This N10+ is running on Pie, last firmware update was almost 2.5 years ago. The current OS will be 2 yo in June. Still fast, stable with minimal maintenance. Security is not an issue.
My new N10+ is running on Android 10, it has a better UI but it's also more of a pain.
More than likely neither will ever be upgraded especially the newer one.
With scoped storage fully active in 11 it will slow the N10+ down. There are multiple issues with 12, I recommend not upgrading to 12 or 11 for that matter... you can likely rollback 12 to 11, but not 11 to 10 as the bootloader was upgraded too.
Same is true with 10 to 9, it can't be rolled back.
Look before you leap...
