[Q] Whats the best rom (retorical ?)

Hi can someone tell me which is the closest rom to the froyo 2.2 with apps2ds
installed in rom.
I'd say that NeoPhyTe 5.3 is very good, but then again that is the only custom ROM I had... coming from a stock 2.1..
hope this helps! good luck!
Another vote for Neophyte's NexTSense 5.3. Fairly stock but with all the 2.2 issues fixed and apps2sd goodness!

ROMS question

Hi,
Got my Desire running 2.2 with the new radio for 720p recording.
Question is what is the main difference in the ROMs which are widely available now?
Im running LeeDrOiD V2.0
But to me that means nothing?
Is this a good Rom?
What ROMS would you recommend?
Thanks
ROM choice is personal and can't be recommended. I use Paul's MCR ROM from MoDaCo with a few personal tweaks. It's my ROM and made as I want it...

what rom to choose? :S

hi all... i had recently the rcmixS http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=988570
now i have the official android 2.3.
However, i would like to use some rom with, if not all, some sense 3.0 features (as in rcmix S).... stable and fast also!
as that rom was last updated in June, i wanted to know if you guys could sugest me some other rom.
Cheers
Just test. The rom you like depends so much on personal preferences.
Try revolution or Aurora.
Revolution v1.5 is one of the best Rom's I've tried so far, very fast for a modded sense Rom, my advice would be give it a try, but beware once you do, you'll struggle to find anything better

Does Revolution lag at all?
I'm using Tabasco's Silky ROM v2.0 at the moment, simply because it's as close to stock as I can get, and is therefore as quick as the official HTC 2.3 ROM.
I do miss some of the cooler Sense features of other ROMs, but they all lagged too much for everyday use (when doing things like opening browser, returning to home, dragging down status bar).
So does Revolution suffer the same lag?
I know it's not Sense, but...
MIUI roms are my favorite roms,
once I tried, every other rom is just boring.
thou i never really liked sense, MIUI was a true discovery for me.
FAST as lighting, very customisable, intuitive...
at least try it
and if you don't like...
go back to boring sense

Honestly Revolution is amazing, theres no lag what so ever, you should give it go m8, I know you will be impressed, V1.7 has just been released today, Not sure what it's like yet as I'm still downloading it
I tried Revolution too and I think it is the fastest sense Rom out there ...
I tried the Data++ 1.5 version with sense HBOOT and there was no lag whatsoever
the only problem I had was that programs kept installing on internal memory !!!!!
I find miui a very good choice. Performance is good. Update weekly.
try aurora with supersmooth rosie (semi 3d, transparent) and supercharger script you'll get full sense 3.0 very fast and stable
i recommend falshing aurora v03 first reboot make first settings and then wipe dalvik and cache and flash aurora v04 after that applie supersmooth rosie and supercharger script the reason for that is if you flash v04 first apps2sd isn't working and v4.1 doesn't include rctweaks
i second the revolution or Aurora... though nothing beats miui..
CyanogenMod or insertcoin
GingerReal2.
Nothing else

Redux. No sense and better battery life. Vanilla ftw!
Sent from my Nexus X
Nothing beats LeeDrOiD_HD_V3.3.3_GB - R5...........I go back to it every time.
insertcoin.....although sebastiaans runnymede 3.5 rom is getting there....gonna wait a few weeks for it to settle!
If you're limited to Sense 2.1 + 3.0, I would definitely suggest Revolution, or Leedroid HD. Revolution has custom UOT though. I don't know how that'll click on you.

I´m with you on that, it´s already on V.5.0 & it was on V4.6 this morning, so I really don´t want to complete wipe & flash several time in a day.....

[Q] Question about AOSP roms please.

Hi guys, ive been trying to find AOSP roms for the Desire but seems they are in much less numbers than sense roms.
Are AOSP roms a good option? Do they provide better performance than sense ones, and is there any AOSP rom that keeps getting updates and support Data2SD? Thank you very much.
I think that there are less AOSP ROMs because most people want Sense.
But usually, AOSP ROMs gives better performace, battery life and are more stable, since they don't have all the extra stuuf that is includad in Sense.
They are the best option IMO if you can live without Sense.
AOSP ROMs are made directly form Android source code (Redux, Oxygen, dGB, Devnull) or CM and the ROMs based on it (as for example GingerVillain, or MIUI, which at least was based on CM7 in its first versions)
About Data2sd, the only ROM that have it included is MIUI XJ XPart, but I think it would be possible to manually add the D2SD script to any ROM
Everything he said I switched over from sense and will never look back, you get better performance, better customizing of the RoM, MIUI has a built in theme manager witch let's you change everything you want. Better battery life not having sense killing battery.
You dont like you can always go back to sense
Since i have rooted my desire i only have used AOSP roms, great roms are Oxygen, CM7, GingerVillain
Now i am on GingerVillain it has support to Data2SD, It has OTA (Villain Setup Application) updates for various stuff of the rom, and with the 3.1 HAVS 1113Mhz + CFS kernel installed through OTA the battery lasts 2-3 days.

best 2.17 rom based

hi excuse me but what is the best 2.17 based rom for performance/battery life
tnks a lot and sry for loose your time
try viperx or ARHD 9.4.0
they both very good rom considering performanc/battery.
For pure Sense 4.1.
Give OrDroidX v1.3.4 a try, and I bet you will stick to it for a long time.:good:
As far as performance and battery life is concerned there is not much of a difference between stock 2.17 and custom ROMs based on 2.17. The importance of installing a custom sense ROM is mostly about the ability to customize it the way you want, therefore as far as ease of customizability goes Viper X is probably the best.
+1, to all the Viper X comments
viperx seems to has the highest review...
best
i've test arhd 9.4.1 and viper x 2.1.0: for performance/battery life arhd 9.4.1 is better than viper-x but viper x have some interesting feature like ota update and venom hub. For newbies viper x is better and arhd for power user. Arhd have some graphic bug caused by cd tool suite, but it still the best rom for power user. Now im test OrDroidx if is better than arhd.
