Recommended Themes? - HTC One X

Hi all,
I'm new to Android OS (The One X is my first phone with Android/ICS) and was wondering how far I can go in terms of aesthetic customization without having to root and was wondering if anyone could supply me with some themes/icons etc.
Thanks!

You can install a Launcher from the Play Store and apply many themes which you also find in the play store...

launcher from playstore is really good for themes

skins
wait for someone on xda to release some sense 4 skins in my opinion the launchers are slow and laggy

No way for customizing Sense without root

without M10 tool that can decompil sense 4 M10 there is just no way to skin widgets or clock ...
it's just like that...

There are launchers you can download from the Play Store. Some of the better ones are ADW EX, Apex, Nova. Run these launchers over Sense and you can theme your homescreens at least. The framework will still be Sense though, for now.

have a good search on the market yourself would be the best option for you. there are literally thousands of different options for you. but customisation is relatively limited for non rooted phones, live wallpapers and HTC themes, avaliable though HTC built in Sense Themes.
with certain roms, they take on the T-Mobile theme system what utilises much more themes to download and customise. launchers only make changes to your main screen and application list, icons as such a limited.
adw launcher, launcher pro, helix launcher
Re. Make your phone look nice without root...
This might raise some hackles, but in my opinion, when it comes to the aesthetics between rooted and stock phones, there isn't usually a drastic difference. You can get a stock ROM looking really great. I run LauncherPro Plus on CM7.1, but to be honest the cosmetic difference between that and running it on stock Froyo is fairly minor, to the, uhm, passerby. *hides*
Thanks this helps alot
An here are also some nice Themes for Sense 2.0: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=801928 and Sense 2.1: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1048894
Launcher pro is a good one. You should check it out

Turn off sense?

I'm getting really tired of HTC Sense, and I don't really want to mess around with launchers at the moment. I'm wanting to basically disable Sense and revert it to the basic android look. Anyone know if this is possible on and unrooted Evo 4G running 2.3.3? And if not, is there a really good launcher that will imitate that look?
well to start, if you "turn off" sense you will need a launcher. Launcher 2 would look the most like what i think you are looking for. just remove all widgets from homescreens on sense and select that launcher as the default.
or
you could flash one of these
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1092221
they have most of sense removed.
or
try an aosp rom
I second Launcher2. I was never a fan of the bloatware we know as sense.

I tried looking up Launcher 2 in the market, but i couldnt find it.
Yea me too. Try Gingerbread Launcher free or Android 2.3 Launcher (Home).
Alternatives are ADW, Go Launcher and Launcher Pro. There are also themes for the launchers to customize them further.
The following are themes to make the launchers look more like stock gingerbread
ADW - here or here
Go Launcher - only found 1 theme but had bad reviews
Launcher Pro - here

I'd recommend Launcher Pro, there are tons of free themes for it and you can customize almost everything. Both Launcher Pro and ADW are both good, I would try both (they are free in the market) and see which one you like better. I used sense exclusively until I found Launcher Pro, I preferred it over ADW. If you want to completely get rid of sense, then the only option is to root and check out the senseless ROMs that are posted in the development section, or the AOSP ROMs.
Edit: I didn't fully read the post lol

What is your favourite Launcher?

Just thought I'd ask what your favourite Launcher is and why. Been playing around with different Launchers over the last few days and I've found that Nemus Launcher is the best one due to 4.5mb RAM usage!
I always used launcher pro because it runs really smooth. After switching to ICS i am now using the stock launcher.
Even without updates launcher pro is working with ICS but you can't use the calender widget. LP will crash immediately.
Nice! I'm still using Sebs sense 3.5 ROM. ICS is too buggy for me to use as a daily driver. Nemus Launcher is very light on resources and therefore more free RAM compared to sense
Stock / Launcher Pro.

This one contains a poll + I'm not looking for a new Launcher. I'm just asking you guys which one you use and why
I use ADW.... love it

Launcher Pro even though I'm not very satisfied with it. It runs really smooth but has some bugs and crashes sometimes. When CM9 is out I'll probably use Trebuchet.
I like the Go Launcher. It has some nice customizable options, and I found a real nice theme to go along with it.
Definitely Go Launcher Ex. Lots of options to play with, and very theme-able.
ADW with ADW.ICS Sqrd Theme ... I love it !!!!!
I loved ADW but now I'm using stock ICS launcher.

I use the market ICS Launcher.
Only google's default ICS Launcher works better. They make it possible to put more than one app in every launcher button.

In my opinion Go Launcher uses far too much RAM - 37mb! And I don't like Launcher pro, too basic in my opinion
LauncherPro, the fatest!

just recently changed from launcher pro to go launcher ex, really liking the look and feel up to now.
Go Launcher is probably my fav, it is a bit heavy on resources but great customisation and lots of lovely usability features
I use go launcher. Most customizable

[Q] How to enable HTC Sense Widgets in ADW launchers

Hi
I recently shifted to the ADW launcher because of the unsightly HTC sense dock at the bottom of the screen. But then I am unable to access HTC sense widgets, like the music widget for example. I am aware that I have the option of getting a Pure Music kinda app to solve this problem. But I just wanted to know if there is any way of moving around the HTC Music Widget apk file (or any other file for that matter) so that it is activated in ADW?
I have seen the same (similar) question across a lot of different forums and the answer has always been "NO". But hope springs eternal
Thanks
ucannot have sense widget's if u move onto another launcher

You can't add sense widgets in another launcher, but may i ask you why do you use adw launcher instead of nova launcher or spex launcher? Adw launcher is so old, is made for gingerbread and froyo. Nova and apex are made only for ICS.

I guess I just grew comfortable with ADW over the years. Thanks for the suggestion, I shall try out nova / spex.
The result with Nova and Spex will be the same. HTC widgets work with the supplied HTC launcher only.
yeah that's true. But I don't understand why they have to be so microsoftishly possessive that it limits the users customisation needs. The lockscreen for example, I personally find their renowned "ring" quite blingy and there seems to be no way to edit it. So if i install MIUI locker to customise the lockscreen I occassionally have to deal with two lockscreens - first the HTC ring and then whatever else I have set. C'est la vie!
You cannot add sense widgets to adw but do not worry, use apw widgets, these look very similar to sense widgets...
Well as close as you can get without being sued by HTC ofcourse...

Thanks sumairmh. I shall give it a shot.

Hey thanks again. I tried apw and it was quite nice. But I am specifically looking for a replacement for the Sense music widget. In any case i shall give the wizz a look over.

Nova Launcher and Apex Launcher are head to head usually. Both are excellent. You can also try Holo Launcher HD or the new Action Launcher Pro. Nova, Apex and Holo are all pretty much the same in terms of features, but Action Launcher is something new.
I use Nova Launcher as I got the paid version for 25 cents during the Google Play 25 billion apps sale. It's fast, works well and has all the features I need.
yeah but Nova launcher has some downsizes...isnt so customable has the others ..but the real benefit(Also) is the Battery..nova consume lowest batter of all launcher..so give it a shot because is a nice launcheer...and also u can try NEXT launcher..because is something different.
Im currently using Atom, on ICS i got better battery life than nova.
