Which browser do you find best? - HTC One X

Hi,
I wa just wondering about what was the best browser, in terms or performance, power consumption and features.. I've installed dolphin hd and chrome beta.. my impressions is that the stock browser behaves better than the dolphin hd browser, but this one has some features like plugins which can be useful.. I have not used chrome too much so I don't have an opinion about it yet.. what do you think?
Inviato dal mio HTC One X con Tapatalk 2

Using Chrome on all my ICS devices. Especially since Chrome syncs the browsers.
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2

I found that the stock browser occasionally hangs when loading pages with lots of text. switched to chrome and I find this much faster + the syncing across devices is useful

I use opera great options available and its snappy
Mod or Die

Chrome Beta as main browser. Occasionally I use stock, and Opera+Dolphin Browser HD. For now, sticking with Chrome.

Opera everywhere
2 pc's, 1 laptop, 1 tablet, 2 phones
syncs bookmarks, history, searches, tiles automatically

Chrome beta is best on android so far, tried all others.

Do a test, compare them. What I do is I try zooming and scrolling obviously, but then the final test is to open website like www.techradar.com, desktop version of course, zoom out completely in portrait mode and observe smallest text. You will notice it won't be the same on all browsers, it will be better looking on some.

I use Opera on PC and One X, but flash in Opera seems broken on ICS.

I'm really trying to move away from dolphin but I can't get either stock or chrome.to perform.as dolphin does .chrome oftern displays some websites in mobile format, and stock doesn't allow you to group like bookmarks in folders or if they do om yet to find them

Chrome Beta is fast and smooth definitely give it a try

Opera mobile for me stutter a lot.. anyone with this issue (or are you using opera next)?
Chrome works fine.

I was happy with the stock browser, however after trying Chrome yesterday I'm already converted over. Using it to view this site now and it just looks and navigates brilliantly and the sync with my MacBook helps too!

I like the speed and the pinch to zoom of the stock browser and the features , plugins and design of the Dolphin browser... I'm trying to use the chrome browser but it gives me the idea it still lacks something... Maybe when it comes out of the beta (if ever) it will be better.
BTW, I see that few people uses dolphin, don't you like it?
Inviato dal mio HTC One X con Tapatalk 2

I am using the stock browser because has read mode like safari and the read it later also.
I have try before all the other at my SGSii. Chrome is nice and fast but hasn't the futures of the htc browser.

I ditched Opera Mobile for Chrome Beta, its awesome. Most slick browser have ever used. Lovin it

I've installed chrome beta, dolphin hd and opera mobile and my conclusion is that the stock browser is the fastest and smoothest.. chrome and opera are not so smooth when scrolling... Dolphin and the stock browser have text reflow, which I like, and dolphin has some interesting plugins like screen-cut.. I see no point in using opera mobile... About chrome, the sync feature is good, but it's still inferior to dolphin and stock, IMHO...

Opera mini on 3g, stock on WiFi

Chrome keep match more ram. Stock is the best but it raises temperature more than the others. Special if you try to write a big post in the forum.

Chrome even better when you can sync it to chromium and then spy on gf to see what she is looking at when you are at work

using xscope, but dolphin mini seems faster/better to handle!
Honestly I've used em all. Nothing compare's to the speed and stability of Miren's, followed by dolphin mini
Stock browser is good enough for me.
I prefer Dolphin HD. I noticed that it loads pages a little faster than the stock browser. I also like the fact that I can actually 'exit' the browser as opposed to it continuing to run in the background.
I used Opera very briefly on my Desire Z and though it was amazing on my old Blackberry phones, I think Dolphin has it beat on this platform.
Whay do u think about DOLPHIN MINI?

I use the stock browser most of the time and think is the best out of all of them
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
I haven't tried Dolphin Mini. With the power of the Desire Z, Dolphin HD runs plenty fast and zippy for me

I prefer stock over any other
I use Dolphin HD. It's fast, I like the ergonomy (gestures, toolbars on both sides), it's multitabs, it can read Flash and has add-ons (I can easily switch between desktop and mobile views for example), web pages are automatically resized to fit the screen width when you're zooming.
It's just perfect!
Sent from my Vision using XDA App
Dolphin HD - hands down... I hate the fact that you never actually exit out of the browser for stock and all other 3rd party browsers... till then Dolphin HD is the way to go
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
I was using dolphin mini but I missed the notification bar I n full screen and have been using stock. Now I miss tabs. Any browser have both of these? I don't care about flash...
Miren > Dolphin
I used stock a long time, switched to Opera (since I liked it in WM) which felt heavy and laggy, moved further to Dolphin HD (which has been my daily browser for the last weeks), but am trying Miren again now. I really prefere it's UI, but I've earlier experienced random crashes when downloading etc... Crossing fingers now thought
/edit
DL'ing workes like a charm now May have been the "GB support" they added a few days ago...
So wrong about saying: i hate the fact i cant exit 3rd party browsers... download miren, press menu, presse exit and think hmmmm.... Then browse and see that its a lot better and less overbloated then dolphin hd...
I've tried Miren as some of you find it better and if that's the case it sounds logical to give it a try.
There's one dealbreaker for me: when I zoom in it doesn't resize the page to fit the screen. Have I missed something?

stock browser is best imho.
2nd is dolphin mini, if it had all the features of stock
3rd is dolphin hd, it's just too much though
4th is meh, who cares
Stock browser is my favorite but I use Opera and Miren sometimes because downloads sometimes screw up on file sharing sites. They never fail on Opera or Miren. Miren tends to crash on occasion and Opera is heavy on memory so stock still is the best for normal use imo.

What's your Web Browser?

So... wat web browser are you using?
I'm still using the stock one~ ><
Btw.. hi guys~ im new in this section... used to have a XDA Atom...
Stock is fine but pitch to zoom on browser is a bit flakey

that's why I use stock one ATM. Chrome is fast on wifi connections though
In my 4 android dolphin use is simple, easy to use, does not consume many resources, I would say the perfect browser
Will try the dolphin

I use Opera on all of my devices and computers.
So it's Opera Mobile on my One V.
For me dolphin browser is the right choice.
Opera Mini
I like Opera Mini... (NOT Opera Mobile)
Google chrome works good for me!

Opera mini here too
Opera mobile here. It works flawless and it's faster than stock by far.
Opera Mini works great for me.
Still stock for me.
I like the labs-quick control feature. But haven't tried other browsers to compare
Google chrome and Mozilla Firefox both are good fou me and stock one also....

best browser for phone?

hello guys, i was wondering what the best browser for this phone was. which one is the smoothest with private browsing. thanks in advance...
try dolphin hd browser very nice smooth and awesome if you hit the back button it display a window if you wanna erase your history etc..
I like the stock browser...I downloaded the ics browser from the market yesterday and its pretty nice too. I just like the stock look of the browser. Other browsers I have tried just seem to clutter up the screen with too many options.
I use Dolphin HD as well; it's very smooth.

I played with a lot of browsers. stock is actually very good and fast.
opera mobile and dolphin are both great browsers. another great browser is boat browser. Dolphin however gave me some problems.

Dolphin HD is a very good browser, also gives you an option to close out of the browser and clear the cache and history. I recommend this.
Dolphin for me

Try Quick ICS on Google Play Store. The real feature in this browser is to be able to customize the Quick Controls (read in that description). This is by far truly the fastest way to browse -with one hand!. I got mine customized to open, close tabs, launch bookmarks, go back & forward, reload page and manage tabs. With just the thumb, I can browse with ease. Another cool think is to setup upper / lower quick controls. On the upper, I have the "change browser mode" to switch between desktop and android - helps in loading certain pages that won't load properly with android mode. And on the lower controls, I have enabled Find and Invert screen. The invert helps reading at night / in bed. and of course the find to search stuff on the page.
Check it out. Plus, it is free.
Dolphin HD has been good for me. It has crashed a few times though where I've had to uninstall it and reinstall it to get it working again. Mind you, this was on a custom ROM (Beastmod 4.2) and I'm now on ICS via Darkside and have had no problems with it as of yet. I like the plugins that you can install such as the PDF saver and what not.
Many browsers can go from mobile/Android view to desktop not just dolphin.
Opera mini is fast but some things do not work fully because i think it's optimized for mobile viewing.
The fastest i think goes to boat browser. You guys can check that out. They copied dolphin a bit. The most fully functional would be opera mobile, but is slow at times. Dolphin is a great browser too, but there are times it does not load pages correctly or download correctly otherwise i would definitely go with them.

Yeah I switch from opera to dolphin and viceversa constantly.
Opera = almost 100% functional, but slow, ugly interface (having to tap 3 times to switch tabs for example)
Dolphin = Smooth, pretty and fast interface, but sometimes doesn't load pages correctly. (like pages w/ animated gifs)

Other browsers?

Chrome seems very buggy for me. It is very slow on some websites like Google Groups - and also when I try to just search in Google the input always gets screwed up... Was wondering if there are other good browser alternatives. I use ICS Browser+ on my HTC One X and really like it - but it doesn't seem to work in the Nexus 7, immediately crashes every time I open it.
Thanks guys!

I'm liking Firefox Beta. Newest beta added tablet support and does flash.
The aosp browser is by far the best. Google made a mistake by not including it. Chrome is crappy in comparison.

I personally like the AOSP browser and is the only browser I have on my tablet. Quick with some good features.

Boat Browser is better than all. Loads pages fastest....leaves dolphin in the dust.
I switched from Boat to Xscope on my phone and player... hope it works as well on my N7 coming Monday. If Chrome doesn't do it for me (like pinch/zoom Facebook mobile pages), I'll be quickly adding Xscope.
Dolphin HD and Xscope Pro are the 2 best browsers for me. They usually leapfrog each other with features and UI enhancements. Right now, however, the latest update has made Xscope Pro unbeatable IMO. It also supports Flash which Dolphin HD foolishly disabled. This is Android on a Nexus people......we will use Flash till it truly disappears.
Don't like Dolphin. I use Opera on my mobile, but Chrome on my Nexus 7. Loving the magnify function on small objects, sync and the auto fill.
I have the AOSP browser, Chrome browser,Dolphin Browser HD & Xscope browser all on my N7 and use them all for different things because all of them have their strengths & weaknesses. It's not like back in the G1 or Nexus One day's where we were limited with such a small amount of space and it's easy to just make a Browsers folder and use them all for different thing's
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
Chrome lags like no other. Also freezes a lot causing me to close the tab. Also the constant refreshing when you're multitasking is annoying
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Bought Xscope 7.14 today and have a few problems with it. It's GREAT on desktop sites, but not great on mobile sites (not nearly as good as Chrome). It's my favorite browser on my Optimus and my Galaxy Player, not so much on N7.
The other problem I noticed today is it won't let me do anything to imported bookmarks. It has an "edit", but I can't change the name or delete it, or create a home screen shortcut.
If I use the system create shortcut, it only shortcuts to Chrome, and won't open Xscope through it (main purpose is to open an html file on SD card). If anyone knows how create an Xscope shortcut, or edit a bookmark name, or pinch-zoom a mobile page (like Facebook), please let me know. Thanks!
edit: Figured out how to edit/add/rename bookmarks, real pain, but once bookmarks are tweaked, other aspects of Xscope make it worth it.
1. To add a bookmark: Scroll to bottom (which is easy since you just need to double tap near bottom), open history, click star on one(s) you want to add.
2. To delete: scroll to bottom, select edit, click title, if a menu appears, click title again, then you can delete; you can also edit title there, but not URL
3. No way to add a Bookmark to home screen, tried 5 or 6 bookmark apps, no go... Xscope needs to add this feature!
I like the tab swiping, and with text set at 150%, mobile pages are OK, but starting to prefer Desktop pages (where there are no pinch-zoom issues). Flash seems to play smoother than in Boat.
Personally ive found Opera Mobile and Opera Mini to be my main powerhouses.
flash
sync
mini for tethering
mobile for wifi
simple
fast
give it a check, its my driver
the one thing that always takes me back to using chrome is that zoom feature where if the are a lot of links in a small area on the page it auto magnifies the area and let's you choose the right link. I constantly get sent to the wrong pages with any other browser I've tried.
Any other browser do this?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2

What internet browser do you use?

Hi, I've been using Firefox since I got my Ion back in June 2012, but lately I feel it has gotten a lot slower and it went from crashing the home screen every once in a while to every time I use the browser. By crashing the home screen I mean forcing all the icons and widgets to reload once I exit the browser.
So I'm curious as to what browsers are you guys using now.
The stock browser is very good, fast and has some options
I use it with wifi networks. For 3G I use opera mini

Chrome is good because of connectivity with pc and syncing but it's kinda slow compared to dolphin or stock. And also chrome doesn't support fullscreen which is a negative for me.
Mostly I use dolphin and its really good and now there is a plugin for connectivity with chrome and syncing tabs between pc and phone. Whenever I am on 3g I use opera mini, it is really good with data usage and pages open faster because they are compressed.
