Good luck and happy trails!

Wait!
When I tried flashing CWM in ROM.Manager, it flashed, but wouldn't boot into recovery.
Any ideas? :s
Alright I got to recovery using a rebootapp, but it has a picture of a phone and an exclamation mark triangle :s help"
Sent from my LG Optimus One running iOSDroid

That's stock recovery, and if your volume buttons don't work, it won't do a thing. I'm going to give you a link to clockworkmod recovery, then, place the file into the same folder as your fastboot commands, boot into fastboot and then use the following command, fastboot flash recovery recovery.img. Once that's done, when you reboot into recovery you go straight to clockworkmod.

Thanks
Sent from my LG Optimus One running iOSDroid

Would I be able to flash that with Terminal Emulator? When I try flash_image recovery recovery.img, it says flash_image not found :s
Sent from my LG Optimus One running iOSDroid

Yes, you would. But terminal can't use flash_image without being running as a superuser. So use su THEN flash_image recovery recovery.img.

I'll try and report back
Sent from my LG Optimus One running iOSDroid

Alright, I tried, but it is still the same.
All I did before was flash the ESPRIMG in fastboot, and I've used Root Checker Basic and it said I had root. I've done nothing else apart from that and getting terminal etc and superuser app.
When I type su, no SuperUser prompt shows. Odd.
Sent from my LG Optimus One running iOSDroid

For some reason, T-mobile removed flash_image. I'll post a link of flash_image, then you can adb push it to system/bin and try those same commands.
http://www.mediafire.com/?a6hb1d6rmffhdhz Make sure you do adb remount -o -rw /system before you adb push. You may need to reinstall superuser.

I'll need to be able to do without a PC, it is in work.
I have a flash image binary already, is there a way I can do the permissions and push via Root Explorer?
Sent from my LG Optimus One running iOSDroid

Yes, you can.

Can you lead be through? Because I tried putting in system/bin, and it says copied, then it says 0k free and rebootz. I checked system/bin after and it isn't there :s
Sent from my LG Optimus One running iOSDroid

Try using ES File Explorer.

Will it make a difference if I'm S-on? It says in bootloader s-on...
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda premium

I suppose it would. but in case it does, you can use the official htc bootloader unlocker for Espresso and that will take care of it.

Only if you flash the custom roms from Modaco. If you use the official HTC-rom-updates, you have to do it all over again.

On T-Mobile in the UK, the Hero is branded as the "G2 Touch". Yes, it's still a Hero, but that doesn't change the fact that there is a "G2". Otherwise, there's no such thing as a G1 either, because that's an HTC Dream.

[Q] Can't get into recovery (to make a back up of stock ROM)

---- PLEASE MOVE POST TO WILDFIRE S - Questions section. wrong post sorry!!----
Hi everyone!
First of all, thank you for taking the time to read this!
I have tried to do research on my problem but can't solve it...
The problem is that i can't get into recovery to backup my stock rom.
Specs: HTC Wildfire S, marvel A510e, S-on, Bootloader unlocked, Rooted, Radio-7.54.39.28M, Andriod 2.3.5, HTC sence: 2.1, ClockworkMod 5.0.2.8, Super SU.
I followed the guide: "How to root the Wildfire S with S-ON"on Andriod forums by CafeKampuchia, thumbs up for him It got me this far but, now I want to do the thing for which I rooted my phone in the first place: Installing a costum ROM. Therefore I want to backup my stock ROM.
Installed CWM ROM manager, if use backup current ROM option, the phone reboots and i get the HTC letters on my screen these. After a few sec's they dissapear and my screen goes black and my buttons on the bottom light up. I can touch those but nothing happens besides that it buzzes.... When I it boot the normal way again and use the option 'manage and restore backups' in CMW ROM manager, it shows that there has been made a backup. Not shure if I can trust it though....
When I open in HBOOT (1.09.0099) and push recovery the same thing happens. When I boot the normal way and try to boot into recovery trough CWM ROM manager same thing happens again.
I saw a other topic http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1213229&page=2 i tried to flash this recovery to see if a older version might work, but now i have got a problem flashing... See picture: View attachment 1031874. Anyway that is not my main problem, what i really want to make it clear: is to back up my stock ROM.
Many thanks in advantage!
wait for device, you boot your phone to fastboot, and is works
---------- Post added at 09:43 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:40 AM ----------
I think your hboot is very high, you downgrade it to 1.030000 may be works.
Hey pal if I was you I wouldn't use rom manager, I've known it to have issues over both wildfires. Turn off your phone the normal way. Pull out the battery for 10-20 seconds or so, put it back in and hold volume down + power. Once your hboot is finished scanning the sdcard scroll down to recovery and select it with power. You should go into clockwork mod. Then scroll again with the rockers down to backup and hit it you can do as many backups as your sdcard will carry. So do that and you should have one you can trust. Also before you install your new custom rom read the main page throughout to see if it needs set up in any specific way, like with a special sdcard partition or something. And most important don't forger to wipe your cache, dalvik cache and factory reset the Device from clockwork mod recovery ! This will avoid bootloops good luck

other version of cmw recovery, by following the guide instead of flashing. That gave me the following error.
CID incorret! Update fail! Press <power. to reboot.
ok how did you install your recovery to install super user? did you just use rom manager to do it? as far as i know it only installs a tempoary recovery. which would explain why you are only getting to it through rom manager. ok do you have adb installed onto your pc?
ok take the pg76img.zip attached to this post and put it on the root of your sdcard. then boot into bootloader (not fastboot) and your phone should say it found an update. flash it and it will install clockworkmod to your phone properly. then remove the pg76img.zip from your sdcard and boot back into bootloader, select recovery and with any luck you`ll be sorted. then follow my post above and you`ll be sorted pal

Sorry made a mistake here, i tried to use adb commands while in hboot. When i tried it when the phone was on as usual i could use SU command and the # logo showed up bit than my terminal froze and i couldn't write anything else.
Than i tried it again this time only using the commands as follows:
cd c:\android
adb shell
su
reboot recovery
Difference is that the first time i typed: adb shell su. all together this freezes it up...
Anyhow it sitll doens't work.. i get an empty line in cmd, thats all..View attachment 1033568
But this could be because now a flash of a recovery img doens't work it gives: Waiting for device...

[Q] Stuck in Recovery!

Hello!
I have the LG Optimus G Pro E980 AT&T version. My phone was rooted and I had TWRP recovery on it. I installed freegee from the play store, used it to unlock the phone, and had it install TWRP 2.6.0. After I unlocked it with freegee I noticed the OTA update began popping up asking me to update. I kept postponing it for 4 hours because I didn't have an option to cancel to update completely.
After not looking at my phone for a few hours I noticed it had restarted and entered TWRP recovery on its own. I attempted to reboot into the system but the phone would just enter back into recovery. I attempted to shut it off and turn it back on but once again it entered recovery.
Currently I'm not sure as to what happened or why I can't enter the regular system. I'm not sure if the phone attempted to do the OTA update and if that caused some type of problem, such as a soft brick, but currently I'm stuck and don't know what to do or how to fix this problem.
Does anyone know what happened, and how I can fix this problem?
Also, I am currently on TWRP 2.5.0, in case this information is helpful.
You could try adb reboot on your computer. Or you might just have to lgdlashtool back to stock.

In recovery open an adb shell and run the following:
Code:
dd if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/misc of=/data/media/misc-bad-backup.img
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/misc bs=1 count=1088
That will clear the flag set in misc to reboot to recovery and apply the update. You'll be able to reboot normally then.

Use LG Mobile Support Tool instead
Put Optimus G Pro in Download Mode (press and hold Volume Up and Down, insert USB Cable to PC and handset)
Run LG Mobile Support Tool
Click Help => Country and Languange => Set the correct Country and Languange => OK.
Click Options => Upgrade Recovery => IMEI/ESN/MEID => OK.
Just wait till 100%, LG will flash it for you (depending on your internet connection, usually 1.7 GB will take about 2-3 hours).
I hope this might help
KDZ Updater (for F240x)
Run this attachment step by step, if LG Mobile Support Tool won't help.
Since the tutorial is for F240x, you need to find the E980 AT&T .KDZ file. The rest steps is all the same.
Thank you everyone for the help!!!!!!

New Verizon HTC one S-off but can not access recovery

I just got an HTC one from Best Buy Mobile (Verizon) yesterday. Turned S-Off using runrunner. Verified root but can not access recovery. I had the same issue with a S4 but it was a known issue for all that has updated to the 4.3.
I have tried all the suggestions in flashing TWRP. I am wondering if this is a Verizon related issue? Maybe they are putting something on their phones to prevent recovery?
HELP!!!!
Something is really jacked up with my phone. It kept saying Unfortunately Amazon has stopped. Over and over again. So I gave up and went to do a factory restore and data wipe. I first went to Super user and removed permanent root. I then tried to do a factory wipe through settings/backup & reset reset phone. It still gave me issues trying to enter recovery mode. It would get hung up and then reboot to a sort of safe mode version of the OS. (with a red disclaimer at the bottom). Then I tried to do factory reset by holding the volume down and power. Its doing the same thing. At this point I don't are about root I just want a working phone.
Any suggestions?

I think?
can you successfully fastboot flash a custom recovery? If not can you fastboot the stock recovery..?
To be completely honest, I would just run the RUU. should fix you right up
You could boot into RUU and flash the decrypted stock rom zip to get back to straight stock. The zip reflashes stock recovery. I don't see why that wouldn't work.
Edit: Oops. Didn't even notice andy just recommended the same thing lol. My fault.

Thats odd, i thought you had to have a recovery of some kind.
Here is what I would do:
Lets try Flashing CWM instead of TWRP in fastboot I will post it, and I will also post the stock recovery there to as well.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/kk2esdrx1g1b50p/recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.4.5-m7vzw.img
the image is easily installed via an unlocked bootloader with the following command:
fastboot flash recovery imagename.img
in this case: fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.4.5-m7vzw.img
See if it actually takes, and report back any errors.
If for some reason it does not, try booting into bootloader/fastboot then push the stock recovery:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/hgzgq84svzahvnv/htconerecovery_signed.img
Hopefully that will at least take and try to push CWM again , reboot bootloader and reboot into recovery . I am hoping that does it for you.
Go here: http://download.chainfire.eu/370/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.80.zip and dump SU on the root of your SD card and flash the SU.
I have seen people have all kind of weird issues with rum runner and I am just glad i had the official java card method used on mine. I also tend to just use a stock ROM which is just de-bloated.
Anyways I have used Santod040 roms in case i need to go back to pure stock ROM only: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2485319
You will need the odex one to run any OTA
The firmware is a different thing to flash.

I was able to install TWRP and also Superuser.
Here are the instructions I used. Maybe they will help someone else like me.
Power off your device, then press and hold Power and Volume Down until you're in the bootloader menu. Highlight FASTBOOT and press Power. You should see Fastboot USB highlighted in red.
Download the latest version of TWRP for your phone and carrier. Rename file to twrp.img.
Open a command prompt on your computer and navigate to your SDK directory. Type "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img" and hit Enter.
Then I backed up my stock rom using TWRP
In TWRP's main menu, tap Reboot. It will tell you that you're not rooted and ask you to install SuperSU, so swipe to confirm. When you reboot your phone, you should see a notification that you need to install the SuperSU app. Open the notification and select TWRP, since the app from Google Play only works with S-OFF.
Worked flawlessly.
I installed NuSenseONE max and I love it so far.

Goo.im app as well as ROM Manager, ROM Toolbox can flash recoveries. I've notice there isn't much compatibility with the m7vzw though. You can also use terminal command's from the device. All of these require root access though.

It gives me a "error: cannot open 'open.img', I navigated to the folder that it is located in and executed the command properly every time. I also dont know how to flash superuser using flashboot, so any help will be very much appreciated. Also I'm kinda new to rooted, I have some experience from a few years back, but dont remember everything.

Also I'm kinda new to rooted, I have some experience from a few years back, but dont remember everything.

place the name.img file in the same folder as the adb and fastboot executables, open command prompt as administrator for that directory, then type "fastboot flash recovery name.img" substitute name.img for the actual name of the file including extension and make sure there are no quotes around it. also, use "fastboot devices" or "adb devices" to make sure your phone is being recognized.
I got it to work, finally. Thanks for the reply pointedge. I beat u to it earlier in the day and forgot to post up again that I got it. It was like u said, I just had the file in the wrong folder.

I'm willing to bet he flashed the wrong recovery. It's happened to a lot of people.

OS not installed

I bought my htc one m8(AT&T) used and the previous owner had it root and with TWRP, I did the rookie mistake of wiping the whole thing including the OS apparently, and now it seems it lost the root and is s-on, it won't get pass the htc logo and only when i do a adb reboot boot loader can I access the recovery screen, is there anyway to get it back to life?

from TWRP You have adb access.
Just download a rom on your pc and push it using adb
adb push romfilename.zip /sdcard/
It will take a little while then confirm bytes sent. Then you just have to flash it in TWRP.

i started the adb sideload but can't seem to be able to push it thru, before that i transferred the rom to a sd card and tried to flash it on twrp but it failed, im using a mac maybe thats the problem
Did you wipe with TWRP? What was the original rom installed? Did try flashing a different rom? If so, what roms?
why sideload? I never said anything about sideload... adb works while in twrp, no need to do anything special, just push the rom.

I can't seem able to push thru adb so i transferred the rom directly to the sd card and got a "failed... no md5 found" on twrp when trying to flash
Uncheck the check md5 option in the install screen.

I did but it still gave me the failed message, maybe i should try another rom
Perhaps. Make sure to check the md5 after downloading to ensure there's no corruption.
If it's still not working, follow this:
Assuming the MD5 of the roms you are flashing do matchup and this isn't just a corrupted data issue. I would redownload whatever recovery you're using,
Check the MD5 of the recovery image
Flash said recovery:
fastboot flash recovery recoveryfilename.img
then use fastboot to erase cache
fastboot erase cache
Then select recovery from the bootloader screen
Then factory reset
Then wipe system in advanced wipe
Then try flashing your rom again.
