Hi folks!
I've repacked the Chinese 1.28.1400.6 update to experiment for my own use, so thought i'd share it here.
It is the update with all Chinese removed, missing bits added and optimised with the MCR build system. It should be flashed via ClockworkMod recovery, and you MUST back up first! To flash, first flash the 'tomcr' update zip, then the ROM update zip. If you are returning to a stock based ROM without wiping /data, you must use the 'tostock' update zip before doing so.
There are 2 known issues, the first is that a 'data connection status' icon persists in the top bar, the second is that, due to the Chinese origins of the ROM, the option to add / edit Google account settings is missing from Accounts and Sync. You can add accounts however via the settings menu of the Gmail app.
Enjoy, let us know how you get on!

Holycowbatman! You just don't stop do you Paul? ;-)
I'm doubting to unlock through htcdev just for the root-sake of things,.. but all is still well. I'm curious how this 1.28 version will hold out. You guys had any luck extracting the update itself ?
Whoa! Just what i was waiting for.
So noob question: If i flash this ROM and do backup first, can i safely restore the backup if this ROM don't work?
Also, can i flash this if i have a carrier locked device?

You can backup current rom then flash this, then restore to go back if you so wish ..
You can flash this on a carrier locked device as long as you have htcdev unlocked the bootloader and installed a custom recovery like has been posted on other threads.. otherwise no your unable to do nothing thats not been sanctioned by your carrier..
thanks a lot, however, can I have the original "traditional Chinese" supported version as well ? or it's Simplified Chinese version initially? (where I can get the one with Traditional Chinese ?)
Thanks for the reply!
I have unlocked via htcdev and have clockwork installed.
By backup you mean via clockwork?

hi,
coming from a 1.26 rom, do i have to wipe everything as well? or can i just flash to mcr and so on?
thx
Just tried and like the other 1.28 repack games don't play. The constant data icon I believe only shows which type of connection you have as the active data icon is seperate and appears in the top left.
Just for those wondering the live wall papers still stutter....

weird, angry birds/ games aren't working for me either.... maybe because i didn't do a full wipe?
ill try the fastboot after ive finished my movie
One thing of note...I still have the flickering screen issue that's visible on gray screens. First I loaded without a wipe, but I've since gone back, wiped and reloaded.
Awesome paul, just flashed the boot.img, and it completely fixed the problem with games not opening!! finally a decent 1.28 build that i can try out.
I'm going to see how things go running it and will report back about my findings .
Thx!
Yeah THD games don't work.

Hello folks,
I just collected a bunch of helpful fastboot commands and images.
Original .bat files are based off mike1986's boot.img flashing "tool", so thanks to him!
This pack includes:
IMG Files:
1.26 stock boot.img (kernel)
1.26 stock recovery.img
1.28 stock boot.img (kernel)
1.28 stock recovery.img
current clockwork-recovery (thanks Koush and broncogr!)
BAT-Commands
01. Restore Stock 1.26 & Stock 1.28 Recovery (to get the phone charging while off / necessary for reverting to stock)
02. Restore Stock 1.26 & Stock 1.28 Boot (kernel - necessary for reverting to stock)
03. Erase Cache (sometimes solves the issue not be able to boot into the recovery anymore)
04. Flash custom boot (kernel)
05. Run Clockwork Recovery (temporarily - without flashing it onto the device)
06. Reboot from fastboot
07. ADB check for if the battery is charging within CWM or not.
A text-file with instructions is included.
I hope it helps some people with flashing images and maybe restoring to stock with this little collection
Download v1.2 from Dropbox
NOTE: Even tho I tested every command included without running into trouble, this happens on your own behalf. I am not held responsible for any damage to you device or any problems you run into!
In case my Dropbox account runs out of available traffic, feel free to upload it somewhere else as a mirror.
Changes:
Version 1.1
- Added Firmware 1.26 files
- Added fastboot reboot
Version 1.2
- Added new Clockwork Recovery 5.8.3.1
- Added battery charge and capacity check (ADB)
- edited some batch files for better understanding
This will simplify doing the fastboot everytime.
Btw, can I request one also for 1.26? Coz for some reason I cannot find the stock boot.img around. I only have the stock recovery.
And I'm sure there's still many people that haven't done the upgrade to 1.28.
Thanks!

No mate. I haven't as of yet included 1.29... If you give me the link I can include it and then all you have to do is flash it... I take it you mean like a HTC stock recovery?
If you're talking about proper updating via HTC then you've gotta relock bootloader, and install via the HTC ruu and then unlock bootloader again....

Ok That Makes More Sense Mate. I Would Suggest Not Doing Anything Official For Now. If You Use A Custom Rom You Need To Keep An Eye Out For A Rom That Is Based On 1.29... The Only Reason You Would Use This Tool Is To Flash The Boot.img Because We Havent Got S-off Yet.
As Of Yet I Dont Think There Are Any Roms That Have 1.29 Though Mate So Youre Going To Have To Hang Tight For A Bit....
Does This Answer You Mate?

My One X Plagued With "Unfortunately The Process com.EVERYTHING Has Stopped" Messages
A few weeks ago my One X started giving me stopped process error messages for, well, for everything. Within 5 minutes of booting the phone up, everything would start stopping. gapps, acore, htc.bg launcher, browser, exchange...everything.
This was on my carrier's stock, ICS ROM, but, since then I've tried a custom JellyBean ROM that I found here. The problem is exactly the same, so I guess it's something deeper....
I've tried factory resets, I've tried with and without a google account linked (as I've read that can be a problem sometimes)....I've cleared cache partition and Dalvik cache....what else can I do?
Is there a "nuclear" option, that's even more intensive a wipe than a "factory reset"?
What else can I try?
Try ARHD 7.2 its basically a stock Rom were as jellybean is a ported version with not much working first I would sugguest flashing back to stock choosing the RUU from your country after your completely stock check for updates then go in bootloader and restore device factory settings don't install any apps until your sure the problem has gone if your still getting problems I would return for repair or replacement

Erk....I'm stuck.
I downloaded a zip full of stock ROMs (One_X_1.26.114.3_odexed.zip), but I don't know what to do to get just the bits I need from it.
Having done "fastboot oem readcid", I know that I need ORANG001 stock ROM, but not sure how to "cook" it. Or even if I need to.
These are the instructions I'm trying to follow, but it's the "extracted and cooked from right RUU" bit that has flummoxed me....I've looked around for the answer, but can't find a thread that doesn't assume a level of pre-knowledge (or intelligence) that I don't have
Install stock rom of your CID
-fastboot oem readcid (to know your CID)
-all roms are based on x.xx.401.xx , so you need to download the right RUU(that matches your CID) and extract rom.zip to cook a stock rom for you
-flash custom stock rom(extracted and cooked from right RUU) on custom recovery
-fastboot flash boot c:\boot.img (flash stock kernel that's inside custom stock rom boot.img file)
RElock the bootloader (you can allways unlock)
-fastboot oem lock
Right RUU file for your CID
-put your phone on fastboot (it will not boot because you have a custom rom on a locked bootloader)
-now you can run the RUU exe file and upgrade your phone

Once I've got the stock ROM bit sorted, I think I'll be okay with the rest! (famous last words)
It tells you to download stock Rom matching your cid then extract it on pc (winRAR) you should get 2 folders one is the boot.IMG and the other is the Rom copy the Rom xxxx.zip to your phone and flash in cwm recovery then fastboot boot.IMG. That's it before updating your phone check stock Rom if its fixed your issues just whack arhd or some think stock based there more reliable

Okay, thanks, I get that bit now. But I don't know how to tell which ROM matches my CID...
I've googled phrases like "ORANG001 stock RUU" etc, but every thread seems to lead to a different
Is it likely to be this (for ORANG001): RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_Orange_UK_1.28.061.9_Radio_1.1204.103.14_...?
The actual flashing, etc, I'm comfortable with...it's just finding the right thing to flash that is doing my head in.

K here we go,
I've got an HTC One V. ( not the best choice ever I know but it will do for now). Thing is that it has been rooted and I now have a clockworkmod Recovery version 5.8.3.1. Today I got a message saying that there was a system update for my Phone. 2.22.401.1 of 34.55 MB. When I try to install it, it boots into ClockworkMod Recovery. I think I know where the OTA should be: /cache or /partition/cache But I can't find either of them in recovery nor just with filemanager. What am I doing wrong or what should I do?
tnx in advance Maverick ®

the ota is actually in sdcard/download and you wont be able to flash it with CWM
I tried it also, wont update... Will new versions of custom roms have these updates?
can someone post the ota zip?
Here you go.

Firstly will like to say hi to everyone here since this is my first post and a new user to android!
I have read several threads and all mentioned to have stock recovery to do the update. Doesn't work for me. This is my scenario:
I have a rooted stock rom with CWM. I have flashed the stock recovery and also downloaded root keeper to able to restore my root after performing the OTA. After flashing the stock and backing up of root, I proceeded on to download the OTA update and install it. When the phone starts to reboot, indeed it boot up into the stock recovery for the update. However it just stops around 25% showing a notification icon instead.
I am a developer and an occasional hacker.. I am pretty new to android mods. Greatly appreciate if anyone could shed some light on how I can troubleshoot this issue.. Any logs? any debugging level I can look at to see what went wrong at 25%?
and by the way, i am holding on to a HTC One X
Thanks in advanced!
It stop at 25% or at any time because it cannot find a file it needs to patch.
Only a clean stock ROM should be able to complete an OTA update.

Mine is from a rooted stock rom. I have flashed to a stock recovery before downloading the ota from the device itself. So I consider that an original ota file downloaded?

General Information
Since everything here is on fire because of the sense jellybean leaked firmware and many are crying that they do not have the appropriate CID to flash the new firmware, and some also replied to my post they are not able to boot with that UNOFFICAL and BETA METHOD i decided to write this short guide.
At first, i do not think that the rom flashed with this method is working as a daily for you, more a preview for when the devs found a way to bring the update also to carrier branded phones.
Things that are reported to work with trips 3.4.11 kernel but not with his 3.1.10 kernel are:
- Usb storage ( )
Things that will not work are:
- Sound
- Youtube App
- Wifi Dropouts, not for me but another person mentioned it
This method does not update your hboot. So you´re safe to go back. And one more time, this is just meant as a preview for now, so dont expect the full jellybean experience. be lucky that we have trip and can at least boot this
So here will be the general instructions for all jellybean sense roms.
1. Download your favourite jellybean sense rom and put it on your sdcard
A few of them:
ARHD: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1562603 (not available for now)
IC: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1588669
Maximus: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1601543
Ordroid: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1836919
2. Download trips kernel from here: http://tripndroid.bindroidroms.com/TripNDroid_RVISED_3.4.11-002.zip put one copy on your phones sdcard and one on your pc
3. Repack trips boot.img found in the previously downloaded .zip with the ramdisk from the kernel which is included in your rom that you downloaded in the first step using this nice little tool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1815607
Put the repacked boot.img in your fastboot folder
4. Boot your phone into fastboot mode and flash the repacked boot.img you downloaded using following commands
------> fastboot flash boot boot.img
------> fastboot erase cache
5. after this boot into custom recovery and perform a full wipe (including system, data, cache, dalvik)
6. flash your rom (just in case: tick none of the options in aroma)
7. flash modules from trips kernel which you placed in step 2 on your sdcard
8. boot into your jellybean preview.
Credits to shnizlon for the rom, to TripNRaVeR for his 3.1.10 kernel that offers this possibility , finally to chrisoverson for online repacker
I´m not responsible for anything you do to your phone!

Hi a few people have confirmed that it works, but there are some bugs as stated in the op, so you can give it a try to see what all the fuss is about and so that you don't have to feel totally left out, but currently it can't really be used as a daily driver

Already try it one the day 2.0.0 out.. but the most i hate is no in call sound.
about sd bug, I think it is because of vold.fstab, as the sd mount is different as ICS, that why it not detected in JB.
I tried this last night, and YES it does work.
However it's pretty unusable and i ended up flashing back to viperX. Still it was nice to sample Jelly Bean.
I'm on T-MOB005 UK

Every JB sense rom boot using trip kernel, just repack it and flash.. Already try all JB ROM, but no fun for me, as it is too buggy for unsupported CID.
@OP : Why don't you change the thread to "how to flash Sense JB on unsupported CID device" as it could boot all JB Sense ROM.

i did it exactly as i described in the op yesterday in the evening and there were the bugs i explained above
your hboot is not upgraded while youre doing this procedure so you can easily flash back
and i also mentioned it´s most likely only for preview!
I try it my cid is t-mob101 and it work Sense jelly bean is nice but i have the Radio Bug..it works only if the screen is on...when it is locked and i turn it on i have Signal Bars but in lockscreen it shows no signal...it is Bad...but the hole rom is nice ..i hope someone fix the bugs

it could but the boot.img i provided is only for ordroid. i don´t think it will boot with insertcoin or arhd as they made custom ramdisk modifications. But you´re right, basically if you repack trips kernel with the jb sense roms kernel ramdisk it will boot i think
I will update the thread in the evening i´m busy now because i have to break up my grandmother´s garden that sounds funny and i hope it´s correct

why you need RUU or stock recovery? This is the same way to flash custom rom with our own choice kernel.
