Folks,
Recently when I've started my camera app I've heard a "buzzing" out from the camera. Very strange behavior.
It doesn't seem to affect quality that I've noticed. Anyone else experiencing this?
I'm running Cm9 alpha 2 and FD05 modem.

Buehler? Buehler?
Mine did that the first time it opened Instagram but only made the sound for maybe 20 secs then stopped. IT happened one more time after that but I think it was the stock camera. And once again it was only for a short time then nothing again. Think I just reset my phone both times.
What ROM? What version? This was happening a few versions back on Blend ICS and Calks E4GT 2. Newer versions have fixed this.

Mine has done that a few times on both stock roms and Calk's roms. Always with the stock camera app. I've generally found that a "strong tap" around the camera stops it. Probably not the right method, but it seems to do the trick.

I had that weird hissing/buzzing come from my external speaker when the panorama photo option in aokp Kang 040512 attempted to stitch the photos together, but it didn't save the photo after it buzzed while stitching. only did it the first time I used it and now it works, weird huh?

Anyone notice from completely stock 2.3.7 to any 4.0.3 ive tried several versions currently on fb27 but the external speaker for ringers or notifications is much quieter any solutions? Or anyone else experiencing it?

This is a well known issue and documented in all the ICS roms.
Ahh my bad so i assume sooner or later itll get fixed

It's definitely on the MUST DO list along with the GPS, random vibrations, exchange sync, wifi and a few other things. But considering the steady and overall complete feel of the leaks I think we are right on the verge of an official update.
I thought fb27 was official

Hello I was wondering if anyone has problems taking pictures indoors? My phone camera seems abnormally dark compared to my friends who has the same phone. I'm also on blazer ROM going to try to Odin back to stock see if it helps. Will report results.

Noone huh?

Nope. I'm on blazer as well and my camera is the best out of any phone I've every used/seen. Try looking at the brightness settings of the camera. Or completely restore your phone and reflash

Works fine for me on Codename. Have not had a single problem with it.
think its a size issue cause it either f/c or says size too small ...
mine will fc whenever I go into the actual picture taking part of the app. The social parts of the app work perfect though. Running the goodness rom

I am having the same issue. When I try to take a pic, it force closes. I am running MIJJAHZ rom. Any ideas?

I have CM9 alpha 2 with the FC02 kernel and I can take the pictures fine. Where I run into problems is if I am listening to music or podcasts and snap a picture, Instagram mutes all audio until I force close it and then all my sound comes back. I'm pretty sure it is muting it for the shutter sound and then won't un-mute so it has to be killed. Anybody else getting this? Any possible fixes or workarounds?

In CM9 alpha 2 you have to keep Advanced Camera on or it will crash after you take a photo and accept it.
I actually just wiped my phone and it works fine now! Made a backup of my important apps first though : )

Sounds like the issue lies with people on ICS? I've been experiencing the same thing with calkulin's 1.3a rom.
Latest update fixed it for me!

Hi all, I'm new to Inc 2, coming from Droid x2(fml). anyway.. im running latest miui, and cameras dont work properly.. anyone have a working camera zip that i can flash? much appreciation
Have you tried clearing the cache and Dalvik cache?

Which MIUI build are you running? There's more than one port floating around right now that seem to be actively supported. If it's an ICS/JB build, there have been known issues with the camera in the past (I haven't kept up with it too much as MIUI builds never seem to play nicely on my device). Also, what do you mean by the camera "not working" properly? Is the camera app Force Closing, are the images saving with a green or yellow tint to them, or is there ripping or tearing on one side of the image?
Like mentioned above, try clearing the cache/dalvik cache in Recovery, as well as clearing the cache and data from in Settings->Apps.
Ill give that a try

Well seems as if the problem is back. When I take a picture, it has yellowish green lines up and down the screen. Although they are clear when I look at them in gallery. Also, instagram has the same problem while taking photos.
I'm running miui 1.8.26
Well on miui's thread it says 1.8.26, but in my phone it says build number 112300 (1.12.30 ?)

Instagram didn't work for me either. And I realized that camera shutter bug that has those lines appear. So, it must be 'normal'.

For a gb build 1 12 9 is last stable build or you can go to the new ics build it works great also.

Yes, I'd either go back to 1.12.09, which was the last stable build with data, or upgrade to the CDMA version of the ICS MIUI. That's the version I'm on, and I have almost no complaints. It is based on Sense, so the camera and ffc work great!
How are you getting data or phone on 1.12.30? People were experiencing phone force close issues with all buildbot versions past 1.12.09 of GB MIUI.
i tried this and it didn't help me for long on MIUI. I finally gave up and went back to a Sense ROM.
Hey, I'm having a problem when taking a picture using the front camera. Every time, it will cause a reboot. Anyone else noticing this, or have a fix?
It is doing this with CM10 and Task's AOKP.
Thanks!

Instagram doesn't place nicely with custom Roms, at least any tried. Just any other camera to add "antique" filters

I always had issues on instagram on AOKP and a few others I tried on my cappy. I guess I often see people having issues with instagram.
