Can somebody help me? My window notification shade does not work anymore. Tried a restart but did not solve. Will try a factory reset if no one has a simpler solution.

What do u mean tho?
The window shade when you swipe down from the top of the phone that shows your notifications does not work. When I do this nothing happens. I am lost for how to fix it.

Landscape mode
My bar is working in landscape mode.
I don't know why?

Hello everybody.
I am new here and I'm sorry if this has been answered already but I could not find an answer. Anyway. I installed WidgetLocker on my Galaxy Nexus but when I uninstalled it later on it left my notifications bar inaccessible from my stock lock screen. It can't be pulled down without unlocking the phone! Is there a way to fix this? It's just awful...
Edit: It can be pulled down in the WidgetLocker lock screen but I don't want to use it.
Do you have password our pattern unlock activated?
The notification bar is only accessible with slide to unlock.

Just tried it, no luck. The problem persists. I think I'll give the factory reset a try.
!EDIT!: Tried it, didn't work out.
Maybe increasing security (activate pattern/password) and then setting it back to slide unlock can fix it?

Unfortunately that was one of the first things I tried.
Why is my notification bar disabled even though I don't have that setting enabled?
One of two reasons: The Block Power Dialog option unfortunately also blocks expanding of the notification bar. The Settings help will be updated in the future to explain this. System security (pin/pattern/password) locks the notification bar itself, this is independent of WidgetLocker.
Found on their website. Don't know if this is a fix or not since I don't have widget locker installed.

Yeah, I stubled upon that too but the weird thing is that the bar is NOT disabled while using WidgetLocker but becomes inaccessible after removing or disabling the app. I'm running ICS 4.0.2 so I'll update and see what happens.
Anyone have any ideas... I've seem to have lost my quad core control for Eco mode. It just disappeared from settings. I can't figure out where it went and why.

You must be deleted it.
Deleted from where? I'd have to know where it is in order to do that?

Can you see it in the Status bar when you pull down the notifications panel? If not, scroll to the far right on the Status Bar and click on the edit icon. Then click on the "add" icon (upper right with the plus sign). You should see an Eco Mode icon in the list. check the box, then it will be visible in the Status Bar. You can now select Eco Mode and unselect it at will.
Thanks. What I don't understand is why it disappeared from general tab in the settings menu. It is in the quick launch. Thanks for that.

I've noticed for some reason when I open my camera for the 2nd, 3rd or whatever time, the notification bar briefly switches to landscape mode. This does not happen if I clear all recent apps then launch the camera. But then when I launch it again the notification bar briefly appears. Does anyone else get this? I'm using nova launcher.

I just noticed it only happens when I use the home button. If I use the back button then open the camera app it doesn't do it. So for example, open your camera, hit the home button, then hit the camera again, does the notification bar briefly appears in landscape mode? If it does try this, open camera, hit back button, open camera again, the notification bar doesn't appear in landscape when I do it like this. It seems like the home button triggers it to happen. I tested it using touch wiz and it does the same thing.

why does it matter if it shows briefly? if the camera still works im not sure i see an issue?
Mine does the same thing, but it's a non issue.

Do you still have your status bar/notifications? Sounds like your launcher has been deleted or something.

See if your phone can enter download mode or recovery?

Can't enter recovery or download mode. Still getting notifications and texts But still nothing on screen. I think i have to get it repaired Hope it's not too expensive.
EDIT - It's all working now 0.0 I don't know what happened, why it happened or what i did. Sitting at the pc about to email samsung about it. I press the power button in the hopes that something would appear, and the screen just turns on. WTF!
Hi, I'm running LiquidSmooth 4.2.2 and this morning I was messing around using the navigation tools rather than hardware keys and after I disabled the navigation tools I could no longer pulldown notifications and my status bar no longer appears at the top of my screen. I have rebooted my phone, restarted my launcher, tried to disable then enable the status bar and pulldown bar but unfortunately nothing has worked. Has anyone else encountered this and know how to fix this? Thank you.

Once the system framework gets messed up like this, I've always had to re-install my ROM.
Just wipe cache & dalvik, nothing else.
All your data & apps & settings should remain the same after the re-flash.
Before you go wild re flashing stuff hold down your power button til the menu pops up and see if expanded desktop is active. That's your problem if I remember correctly how the newer navigation tools work.
