Bought a Galaxy Nexus through newegg and it turned out to be a NTT Docomo import. When I look at the battery, it says NTT(followed by three japanese characters) and SC05. Model number is EB-L1F2HBD. I google it and I get all non-english results. No mention of NFC anywhere on the battery like its english counterpart. Does anyone know if this battery is NFC capable? I tried it with google wallet and nothing happened. I'd take a picture of the battery, but I have no camera.
Easy to check:
Boot your phone
Go to settings app
Hit [more...] under [wireless and networks] if you can activate nfc from there without crashing the system it's legit... that screen should look like this :
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Please post your findings here after trying

Oh wow, didn't know that menu existed. Seems to work then. Maybe my google wallet problems can be solved with a reflash. thanks!
NFC is just written in Japanese just under NTT.

Back story - was trying to share a video with my friend over wifi direct instead of bluetooth for a change and noticed the is no settings for it. he has the HTC one X and the is a settings menu for him but non for us.
Am on AOKP if that helps but am surprised as I wasn't able to search for his device and the traditional wifi settings didn't have any options.
What do you think? And is there and app or a way to do it.

We're all waiting for this matter to be revealed and addressed (look here). Funny thou, the manufacturer provided the functionality but not the software to use it!?
I really got surprised with this
Anyone an idea to which function this weird icon is related?

I checked the manual, nothing like this icon in there. I also deactivated NFC function, but have nothing to do with it.
Flashed another korean ICS, same icon appeared. It seems deactivated... but still looks very weird.
Today i checked the LG website and found the new ICS manual for the (U+) LU6200. The icon have something to do with HDTV, but i'm not sure.
If someone would be able to translate korean it would be very helpful. I just want to know what is it for and how i could deactivate it.
thanks!
I use Google now quite a lot, recently I've noticed that the "places" cards no longer contain photos like they used to, all other cards work fine as they always have, just seems to be this that's changed, any ideas how to solve this problem?
thanks

Hi,
maybe this issue has been asked already but I can't really describe it in words. So Google Now should be able to display information in a nice format, like this screenshot taken from the Google Search Google play store page:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
However, on my device it is displayed like this:
Other information like Currency, Sports etc are also displayed in the old layout. Also, I can not add new cards to Google Now, except the already existing weather and location cards.
I'm using the Sony Xperia S (LT26i) with CM-10.1 (4.2.2) from this thread.
Any help is appreciated
Thank you!
Also has this problem...
Although it is not an important matter to me

Hey guys, I was looking into getting myself an Oculus Rift but figured the wait is just too long since it seems the final product wouldn't be available till 2015. So in my search I came across this http://www.durovis.com/index.html/
According to this you can place your phone as the actual screen and a good VR experience coupled with their Apps on the play store. And best of all its about 50euros with international shipping and for those who maybe interested its not that hard to DIY. If anyone has tried please share your experience as there aren't that many reviews on it. I might get it soon
I love the fact that all the important components are already built into the phone such as the gyroscope and the display itself. Let me know what you guys think.
