Hi guys,
I've just got my hand on the HTC One X.
I had been using the Galaxy S2 with ICS and one of the ICS features I liked was the Swipe Right to call a contact or left to send a message.
With my new HTC when I go into contacts or "people" as htc like to call it and swipe left or right nothing happens I have to give it an olf fashioned couple of prods to call.
Is this me missing something, a feature htc thought it would take out of ICS or is it a fault?
All help and comments appreciated.
You could try exDialer from market.
that is a fantastic dialer and also supports swipe contacts to dual or SMS

That is no ICS feature... but just touchwizz interface. It's the only good thing it does...

That feature is Touchwiz only.

Why would you even need that if you just
tap the "phone",
type two letters of your contacts name,
press on it
and choose between options
Thanks for your replies! Didn't realise it was touchwiz thought it was ics. Silly me but maybe sense should knick the idea as it was really good.

There is a swype like option in the default HTC keyboard settings by enabling tracing. Can even change colour of the tracer.
The HTC note application is able to sync to evernote server.
Able to grp sms on sense ics
Please continue to add to this thread to be useful.
Thanks!
- turn off fastboot at settings/power uncheck it and reboot.
- turn off 3 fingers swipe at display
apparently these solved most of the screen glitches problem with camera and browser.
Most people may know this but I will put my part in. You can change colour of lock ring based on which scene you choose. Ands there's a pointless feature where when you touch or drag something there's a circle cursor on screen... Can be found in settings - developer options

Its not pointless. I assume its main purpose is to allow you to monitor how accurate the display is in regards to your touches (in fact I can see that my typing is slightly to the left of each button) and I know many use it to show video demos (I.e. they use it to show where they touched the screen... watch an angry birds tutorial and you'll see what I mean)

Beats Enhancer:
settings/sound/enhancer/ top left corner for 4 diff "sound enhancements" or "earphone type" options
been lurking for a while and registered to add this...
As well as the taking photos while videoing, you can take (extract) photos while playing back the video. Had a dig in the manual - couldn't find this mentioned.

go to personalize and than the second entry in the list (i dont know what its called in english) there you have 6 different "scenes" and in some of them, the lock ring color(is it color or colour?) is changed
US - color
all the other countries - colour
Here is a cool feature that I found out the other day. I'm not sure if its new or not though.
If you use google voice and recieve text messages via google voice. The HTC messaging client will bring those texts in and unify all your texts in one area. If you continue the conversation it uses the google voice number in that message.
There is an app on the phone which is called in Dutch "Laat zien" which had a lot of info about features of the One X.
I guess its called something like show me in english

I found a unique feature where if you take your phone out in front of iphone users, they look at their device in despair and start crying!!!
Found this and might be of use..
Did you know you can use the icon that pops up when you click a volume key?
Quickly cycle through silent, vibrate etc. !)

LOLLLL u killed me right there
This phone truely is an iphone killer
coming from a GNex, i really miss the on screen "menu" button being in the top right hand corner for ICS apps. by having a hardware menu button the SGS3 takes feature away, and its my only issue with the phone.
Its an ICS phone, I WANT it to work like ICS. The downside to this is, if implemented itll probably introduce the software menu dots for non ICS apps like the ONE X. I own a ONE X and dont have an issue with them
I personally think Samsung was too lazy to update their own stock apps to ICS native style and such put in a menu bottom (Conspiracy)
Nway, if you can help itd be mighty appreciated
+1

Hey guys just got an internation note 2. loving it so far!!
My favorite thing was this little grey half circle on the right edge of the phone. When you click it it gives you several quick shortcuts to common apps. Now it is missing though? Where did it go and how do I reactivate it, also what is it? Is it a samsung thing or just an android 4.1 feature. Any help in understanding this new feature would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

It is multiview option ( to open 2 apps at the same time). It is activated by pressing the back button for 2-3 seconds. You can drag 2 apps from the sidebar to the screen and have 2 running apps then.
It's the multiscreen dooda. Hold back arrow to make it come and go.
You can drag any of the shown apps to the top or bottom screen along with the another from the list. Maps and email at the same time for example.

Hi All
I got the update yesterday.
The problem I have is that the "Choose input method" notification appears whenever I use the keyboard.
I've installed other keyboards, gone through the process of selecting the keyboard and the notification will still not go away.
Has anyone else had this problem, if so, can you help?
Thanks guys
Whenever you type, a keyboard option appears in your notification? This is how JB handles changing keyboards. It's normal.
I also have this - but I only have the stock keyboard, is there anyway to remove it?
Cheers

Not that I'm aware of. Surely a keyboard icon in the notification bar doesn't annoy you? haha.
ICS used a menu shortcut, JB uses the notification. Weird choice I think.. but looks like it's here to stay.
It really does bug me lol. Can't see why you'd want a notification in the corner, asking you if you'd like to change your keyboard - just seems daft lol. Oh well looks like I'll have to cope with it lol.
Cheers

Noob here... and yes i did search for this...
Sprint has recentyl replaced my wifes phone from HTC Evo to Galaxy S2 due to some hardware issues. While the phone is nice and faster then evo, one thing is missing.
HTC Sense UI has the missed call notification preview / missed message notification preview option to display missed calls / SMS/MMS on the lock screen. Since this is missing on the stock galaxy rom, apps like notify or sms popup work pretty nice.
While I can disable the stock UI to display missed messages by going to phone - settings - and unchecking notification box, i cannot find anything that will disable it for the missed calls.
Missed calls have to be cleared twice now - in apps and in stock UI.
Anyone has any ideas how to get this resolved? I`m open to rooting the phone but cant do a custom ROM at this time.
Any input would be great....
On my device ( Evo 3D ) all i have to do is go to Privacy - and uncheck the boxes...

Root the phone and read some how to guides on removing that, or possibly install a custom Rom with those features. Remember this isn't sense based, Samsung is touchwiz and nobody has been successful porting over a sense Rom

I`ll root the phone tonight.
So i`m assuming that there will be a way to change the permissions to rw somewhere in root
That will work.... i`ll look over the guides
I highly doubt that Sense will make its appearance on Galaxy 2... just saying
Stock jelly bean roms give you a notification on your lock screen.

Does stock jellybean have option for message / missed.call preview on lock screen ? On other hand I don't think it would matter since you can turn off notifications from within the privacy settings on the phone ans use 3d party app ...
Whenever my phone is sleeping (screen off) and I get a message or call and I'm not near the phone, when I swipe the screen to wake it, it displays a bubble icon with either a message symbol or a phone symbol, letting me know that I had a missed call or message. You then swipe the bubble and it takes you to the phone log or messages.
I'm on rooted /stock jb fk23.
