[Q] Best Emulators? (GBA,SNES,etc) - Kindle Fire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I never really bothered trying out any of the emulators on my android phone because it uses so much battery life and the screen on my phone is so small, but I was thinking it might work really well on the KF.
My KF is currently running Hellfire's CM7.
So, what are some good emulators? I am specifically interested in gba and snes, but I'm open to other suggestions.

no emulator will work best bcoz kindle only supports two point touch

Take for example Mario 1 for the NES.
You can't sprint + jump at the same time, because it requires more than two touch points (right/left + sprint + jump).
It depends on the game, but for most, it's definitely bad.

How is FPse working? Has anyone tried?

n64oid and PSX4Droid
yupp these are the best

DS Emulator

With the super fast processor and large screen, would it be possible to get a working DS emulator for the GS2 phones if a developer had the motivation to optimize it enough?
I don't see why not. I've been running n64oid and it is as smooth as butter. I don't think a DS would require too much more power.

My kids LG optimus runs the n64 emu. So as you can see the n64 is a more advanced emu. But the hard thing with the DS is the fact that is has two screens and two cpus one for each screen. So getting an emu to do two cpus at once is a bit harder then a single CPU with gourmet calls. Trust me of they could make it work better they would.
There is a ds emulator for this phone out
I know cause i had it once

neither of the existing emulators work. They just show you a blank screen once you load the rom. And for real? The DS has 2 cpus? would it be that hard to emulate though? Isnt that what multithreading is for?

To emulate something you need roughly x2 the cpu of whats being emulated as it can't run in its normal environment. This is kind of why android doesn't just kick ios ass ...we, have way better hardware but it runs in a virtual box and ios does not

lol first off you don't need 2x you need more like 10x the power....and second the iOS is not any better then android......if you think our OS runs like a virtual machine your need to do some more research. Android runs nativity off the hardware just like iOS.

that is why android has a dalvik cache because it has to run java in a virtual machine .... Which is why ios handles apps better and is faster on dated hardware...

Every computer and even high end calculators have cache. A dalvik cache is to allow standard or common commands to be converted and kept. This is what you get on a PC running Java, as that is what Android runs. The iOS also does the same. The iOS is a standard.build of Unix built on the Mach kernal which is from freeBSD. So all OS's "emulate" unless the code is wrote in machine language or it's simi close cousin C.
Supersonic warriors 2 is so laggy on the ds emu on this phone. The emulator needs to be worked on. Scribblenauts too. This is based on my exp with it running on my e4gt

Bluetooth Controllers for Games..

In need of help in finding a gaming controller for the ET4G. I know I can't use my wiimote(bummer), but i need some sort of Bluetooth that works nicely for games. What do you guys recommend?
Does the PS3 controller work or is that only with an ASOP kernel?
It does with six axis in the market I believe

Have you tried this? Where did you read or see this actually working? I have done extensive research on this and it still needs an AOSP kernel from my findings. If you know of a way that this will work otherwise can you please post some details.

The only one I use that works good is FPSE and you have to hunt down sites that have the game ROMs to load. If you google it there are tons of sites and videos to help you out.
If you want to try PSXdroid here is a help page but I found it hard to get going. But this list sites with ROMs:
http://psx4droid.webs.com/psx4droidsetuphelp.htm
I haven't tried all the emulators, but I have gotten reliable use out of GBCoid and SNESoid. The makers have a N64 emulator, namely N64oid, but I can't enjoy the controls with 3D games as much as I want, plus alot of bugs with games spread out. These emulators can be found in SlideMe, just search for the emulators. Old emulators are free, but the N64 emulator will cost you.
As for a place to find ROMs, there are alot, but I personally use coolrom.com.

Kenny I love you so much right now. Despite I'm sure FPSE being common knowledge I've only now experienced how fantastic it is. PSX4droid be damned.
I was looking into all that and I'm having trouble trying to use a game once I downloaded it. I don't know I think I'm doing something wrong. For instance I downloaded the free playstation emulator I think it was psxdroid player lite and I downloaded the bios file needed and then I downloaded mortal combat game but it was a rar file. That's about as far as I got.

Agreed.
PSX: If any of you were into the Digimon scene when you were a child give Digimon Digital Card Battle a look see. Perfect for the epic and is one of the most practical card games ever devised. Why it never caught on is beyond me.
Digimon Rumble Arena was great too. If you like Super Smash Bros-style game play.
Same with Gundam Battle Assault 2 if you were into Gundam and like fighting games.
The main factor which caused me to get my moment= Gameboid XD and for the record n64oid is amazing, the joystick control is top notch though compatibility is a thing that could use work, I'm halfway through ocarina of time n at the end of the first dungeon in Majora's Mask

Emulators are fun
It's fun to enjoy a game every now and then on your Epic, but man it sure does kill the battery, it's more reasonable to play on a Custom Firmware PSP. If you do have one, I recommend the N64 Emulator I gave birth to on there. Yup, that's me

No, I didn't make the N64 Emulator for Android Devices, before it was out, my plan was to work on it and make money off of a licence key of it with limited functionality in the "lite" version. Though another dev beat me to it, and was more knowledgable than I, I knew what was needed, but he was one step ahead of me on resources, the port on of N64 on Android is a Mupenport, whilist mine was going to be from scratch, with scrapes of mupen for linux such as the armv7 interpreter. Anyway. No I sparked life on the N64 Emulator for the Playstation Portable, I began work, and a team of dedicated people came to me and took chunks of outdated original code and got it working better than ever. I was but a spark with minor contributions, had I never sparked it though, Nintendo64 on PSP would of never become what it is today.
And Marcusant, there's more than one route, with the easiest being a hacked battery, I originally hacked mine my sophomore year of highschool a looooong time ago with a save-exploit on the unpatched UMD of GTA for PSP. There are other save exploits, but it does get slightly tougher the newer your firmware. It's come to the point to where you can use what they call "HEN" Homebrew Enabler which runs on official firmware. You should def give Daedalusx64 a try.

It is way easier to put cfw on a psp now. There is no need for a pandora battery or game save hacks. I know sony just came out with an update for the psp firmware on Tuesday, but any build before that takes a matter of minutes to hack. I just set up my slim 3000 a few weeks ago. It gave me a reason to pick it back up after sitting around for so long. And yeah, the psp is WAY more practical to get my retro gaming fix. Wii is pretty easy to crack these days too.
Edit: check out this site for info http://pspslimhacks.com/
It works on all models, including the fat ones, but do your reading to see what method works for yours.

I used to use FPSEce on Windows Mobile on a Touch Pro and got 45-50 fps. The emulator is very well coded and it was ported over by the original developer, which helps. Once my new phone arrives in a couple days I'm going to have to give it a try. It's just too bad that I'll have to buy it again (I paid for the development releases of it on WinMo).

Also, ppsspp works decently; however, that's the app development issue and not the phone.
