We need more info. What roms/mods are you using? Have you tried transferring the data from the sd card to a pc, reformatting the sd card, then transferring it all back and putting it in the phone?
I haven't but I guess I will

You may need to back up your memory card than reformat it than restore it again from your backup. I found than reformatting will fix most memory card issues.

Unfortunately it takes a little time, this may be the answer to your problem

Be patient. Sometimes it gets stuck for a while, but it eventually goes. I've had situations where I've had to wait 10 minutes. Now, that's only happened like twice but it does happen. Just give it time.
Also, did you just flash a ROM? Like, flash, reboot, and this happens? Because whenever you flash a ROM, the media scan takes forever.
If nothing really works, just try reflashing the ROM.
I formatted my sd and got rid of 5 of my 8 gb ._. Now I'm waiting for everything to get back on.

Trust me this was the issue....just make sure you also only put back on what is needed....these card get corrupted very easily...good idea is to format every so often...i also delete all the bs before a flash....lost dir, android, etc...keeps my **** clean every time...
Nothing's ever happened to my Epic...and I've used up more than 13 GB.

There is a bad read on there somewhere. Why do you only have an 8MB card? It came with a 16MB? You definitely need to back it up on a computer with a card reader, then go into CWM and reformat the card.

[Q] Is the process the same to root UVKL1?

I would think so. I just want to make sure so I don't brick my device.
Just use the Odin method.

I wasn't being a cry baby I was stating it didn't work. The camera or keyboard isn't for our phone but they work by flashing. Plus he didn't say it was for developers so i didn't know. Don't jump the gun "dude". A lot of people post things for others to try that's all i was trying to do is to help him know they didn't work. I read but nothing says developers only. Thanks for your fine way of helping,

I don't really have any answers, but have a few questions that might get others to chime in... I am assuming you're pics were on the internal memory? If being rooted will help, one idea I have would be to Odin a "no data" rooted one-click. I don't want you to try it until someone confirms it won't touch the area where you want to recover the pics.

I would flash a CWM and Mount your usb through that...
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
What gray said. And besides the kernel you flash stop doing anything else with it. Wouldnt want you to overwrite the lost pics. The kernel is el26.

Make sure its the kernel only. You dont need the whole rom.
