Hi everyone,
Whats the cheapest price for the Artemis? I've seen it for $699 as a pre-order. Is this the best U.S. price?
Thanks,
GP
Hey where can i buy an Artemis in US.
dont think its available in US yet as i believe Artemis will b released in europe 1st before it hit your shores n my shore (Asia)
You can purchase it online at www.smart-mobile-gadgets.com. That's where I got mine. Mad Monkey Boy from Howard Forums has them, as well, I believe.
Last I checked on that site, it is $609 today.

PhoneSource is quoting US$599. (in stock) http://www.phonesource-usa.com/
How much do they charge for shipping generally at smartmobilegadgets. I feel cheesed that I bought mine for $770 CAD
I originally purchased through SMG when the price was at $639. With 2-day shipping, the finally tally was $670.
When mine was ready to ship, his price went down to $619. This was on a Friday; so instead of refunding me $20, he upgraded my shipping to overnight with Saturday delivery.
Exact shipping costs I can't recall, but he was very fair to work with. And his communication was great.
currently available on singapore's yahoo! auctions at sgd1250 which is around usd799
Anyone know of any reputable sites selling a new Jawbone for mega cheap? I've found $82 on Amazon so far or $100 right from AT&T.
if in US, go to best buy, tell them you have seen the price dropping on the internet, ask clerk to do a product comparison search, then get a mgr to price match. Works if they are bored, and in a less tech savy area. got my black one for $79.
got mine for $60 (£30) was an unwanted gift (didnt know what they were selling)
amazon.com it is then, thanks!
I ordered one last friday (The moment that I saw it was available) and I still haven't gotten a tracking number for it. I did get a confirmation number for the order right after I submitted it, but nothing else after that.
Just curious. I remember reading somewhere that they were having computer problems or something.
I ordered 1 as well last Friday. My understanding from the email is that it takes Otterbox 1-3 business days to finalize the transaction and then another 3-7 days to ship/receive package on buyers side. So at most 10 days at the very least 3.
I'm hoping that it takes Otterbox the least of the 2 but seeing as they are located in Colorado I'm hoping it arrives to me a day sooner...Breckenridge, Colorado to Las Vegas, NV is only a 9 1/2 - 10 hour drive...
I have also purchased my otterbox last friday. No conformation email or anything.
I bought over the weekend and have no shipping info yet, you are not alone. I'm not stressing too much, this a tiny company, not Amazon.
please review!!
you guys who took the jump already, please let us know the pros and cons of this case with a few reviews. i will love to know how this works in real life. not from the outerbox video. an average user pictures will be great.
Just wanted to add that the website says my order is being processed. (I ordered on Friday too)

Very slow company..... not impressed so far....I hope the product makes up for the shipping delays. From what I have seen this case is exactly what I want.

For those who have ordered, was there any particular reason you decided to spend at least $10-20 extra by ordering directly from Otterbox (which I'm assuming you did?) Not sure if you realize it, but several other retailers are selling them, and though they don't have them in stock at the moment, they are expecting them at any moment...and at the top of the list is the highly-reputable Adorama Camera. They're selling it for $69.99 w/free shipping (and I can tell you from experience they ship very fast). If you check out Google Shopper you'll see that others will have it for less than $60 before shipping. Anyways, just my two cents...
My tracking number showed up last night. It was in PDF format and I wasn't able to copy the text, so I had to type it out myself.
I'm kind of disappointed that it won't be hwere until Monday. I was hoping to be able to get it installed before I went out of town this weekend.

I was actually curious about this too. I got an otterbox case for my xperia x10 from an ebay store and paid a good $10-$15 less than my older brother who ordered the same case from otterbox.
Does anybody have a order number for a symmetry case? I need a order number for one otherwise they won't send me a replacement. There being real dicks. I would appreciate it if someone could help
I am in US so shipping from there is <$700 now,
is it still the cheapest now?
Will it be cheaper after 12/9 that the canadian version had come out?
Who knows if you'll have to pay customs fees... I paid the extra $50 ($764) to go with a US reseller but they're being sketchy at the moment... See my post (Negri Electronics is being sketchy).
I'd say go US but maybe not Negri.. I'm sure everything is fine but still... You could pay more than you think with credit card international fees and customs fees depending on the shipping company they use.
EDIT -- I JUST GOT MY SHIPMENT NOTIFICATION!! WHOOOOO

International pricing is pretty firm. The UK prices aren't going to be effected by whatever happens in the rest of the world. A lot of folks in the UK and EU buy their phones outright so demand is what drives pricing. The SGS2 stayed pretty firm for about four months and then started to drop a bit. It's still over $500 having been out since May. If you're importing, don't look for bargains and sales because they don't exist (through legitimate resellers). I've bought from both Clove and Handtec and was pleased with both.
Found this: http://welectronics.com/gsm/Samsung/SAMSUNG_NEXUS-PRIME-TITANIUM-SILVER.HTML These guys are located in Chicago and selling for $724.99. Supposedly these prices are wholesale to the public. Anyone ever dealt with this retailer before?
how much is it gonna be in Canadian GSM version?
I imported from clove.uk to the US and they were great service. Shipped on a Wednesday, got here that Friday.
Though I must say, it shipped with DHL and the packaging was kinda sketchy for a $700 dollar electronic device. It was in a plastic DHL bag and the box the phone came in was just wrapped in fine-bubble bubble wrap. No damage and it works fine, but still kinda irked me when I saw it.

$694 or something like that, there were no additional fees besides the item and shipping.

I ordered two GNs from clove which arrived today. No import duties. I have a thread in this forum showing the current policy regarding importing cellphones to the US (with documentation from the corresponding government agencies).
As for the packaging, I too am a little disappointed that they only used bubble wrap and a dhl bag. The corners of the boxes where slightly damaged; however, the phone itself was fine.
I preordered mine from Handtec and the experience was awesome. I ended up paying around $700 total and somehow the phone got to me within one day!!! It was awesome to see that tracking from Fedex on the day it was shipped telling me it would be at my doorstep by the very next day before 10:30am... now that's fast, especially coming from Europe!

Popular Electronics, which is right next door to Overseas Electronics has it for $699 in store - cash only. I plan to go there this week and buy myself one. $700 is the cheapest I've seen it go for. I've bought a phone and sold a phone from them before so they're legit.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/108564/IMG_4995.PNG
I decided to email Popular electronics about the Galaxy Nexus and it seems like they're willing to bargain about the tax. Chicago has ridiculous tax at 9.75% so the phone would have been $767.15. With a simple email, they were willing to do $710 flat. I'm sure when a little more persuasion, I could get them to $700 or throw in a free case. Just a heads up to all the Chicagoans. Probably pick this up this weekend.

Don't you find it kinda shady that they're cash only and are willing to negotiate to remove sales tax? lol. I'm sure its fine. Just sayin'.
That does seem odd that they have a cash only policy. Really weird for an electronics store. Maybe they have a no receipt policy too.
But back on topic, I just bought my nexus from clove last night. Order is processing and now it's just a waiting game!

When paying with cash, it's always considered under the table. They probably don't file their taxes legally so it helps them when people pay in cash. Good for both parties. They're a small electronics store, nothing huge but they do carry the latest phones.
Not sure about the receipt policy, probably isn't one but as long as it's brand new, I'll be happy.

You forget about the third party. The government and all society that utilizes tax money. (Including yourself)
Taxes are there for a reason and should not be avoided by dodgy business practices.
I would check the phone out in-store to reduce your risk of having to return the device since you may not be able to.

Of course it will be checked.
Tell that to Apple, Google, Facebook, Microsoft, IBM, Oracle and so on. They all dodge taxes. What they're doing it is legal but it's effects you also. It always seems like when a little business does it, they should be shunned by their practice. The way they're doing it is probably illegal but it's still dodging taxes.

Don't assume that paying with cash is always considered under the table.
Another reason for the cash policy is that is removes the credit card processing fees for the transaction. Depending on their processor, it should be around $0.25 + 2% of the transaction amount. So on a $700 transaction, that is roughly $14.25.
(American Express' fees are around 3.5%, so the cost on that transaction is around $25).
If you are a retailer, that extra credit card fee hurts quite a bit. Think about that the next time you buy a pack of gum with your credit card.
http://truecostofcredit.com/378767
That being said, in this instance their's a good chance that this is under the table. I would much rather buy the phone on my Amex and get the additional warranty they provide. Also, why not just import it from clove for $670 rather than paying $700 cash? Makes no sense to me.

Wouldn't mind knowing myself, took a punt on the LG Watch R at the weekend, which is nice but would prefer the Zen. I have it preordered at Expansys at the moment, got in while they were taking orders rather than just the register interest page they have up now.
I had some interest in LG G Watch R because of the circular display but I think the watch is a bit too chunky. Will have a look at expansys

I'm currently using the LG Watch R and had the same thoughts as you, but it's not as bad as I imagined it would be. However I still have my preorder with Expansys and will decide on which one I want to keep once it arrives. Hopefully soon!
Hi all,
I pre ordered mine here: http://www.expansys.fr/asus-zenwatch-eu-265396/
Please note I'm from France.
Anyone got any news with UK release? Hopefully comes before Christmas so I can get myself a Christmas present
Noticed this morning that Simply Electronics list this on their site for £184.95. Also that they've got 5 in stock and make no mention of it being imported. Considering a UK launch date or price hasn't been announced (that I know of) I'd be very sceptical.
UPDATE: A glance at some Google Shopping reviews suggests they might not be on the level.
they are based in HK and have some very dodgy reviews - actually rang them this morning asking whether it is uk stock and this wasn't clearly answered. I then asked about customs duty and they just said its an all inclusive price - bollox. Expect duty and RM charges on top....
I actually remember I nearly bought a camera off this lot a couple of years back but they aren't exactly truthful about location of item or taxes etc - means you'll pay customs and it'll be regarded as a grey import without warranty.
I think its sad that ASUS are dragging their feet on this. I've looked at big daddy in the US but again with their $40 fee and customs, its getting expensive!
Need an american friend to buy and send as a gift!
Anyone heard anything more on the UK release?
Avoid Simply B'S they are HK based

I decided to try se after I discussed at length where the watch was coming from (uk or abroad) , the warranty, etc. I was told it's coming from the UK. Has a UK se warranty. Ordered last week and the amount of bull I've been fed since is unreal. Been told due to amount of orders they should be able to post it by mid December! Even though they originally said 10 days..... I queried why it should even take 10 days?! They are full of sh.....
If and when it arrives, if it's not a UK warranty, I will charge it back through my credit card as I will have been mis sold the item according to trading standards. Mmm I will then follow up with trading standards and ensure they are put out of business based on their mis-sellibg practices... At least in the uk/as a UK seller.
Anyway, still no UK date grrr

Don't order from Simply Electronics. The product they have is not certified anywhere and is dodgy. They quote low prices to draw people in and you very stung after. I got taken in by the cheap price if a macbook air but it wasn't European certified or certified by America FFC. They're customer services is rubbish and they don't reply and when they do they try to get you to keep the product at a reduced cost. I had to complain through PayPal and eventually got all my money back. Lesson learnt. They are based in HK but have warehouses in UK and Europe. If you ever do order then be wary as they're not that easy in returning and will try to get away with charges to deduct from the amount you paid on receipt of a return. I would suggest you all keep away like you would with the plague!! All the reviews online are rubbish and are made up to make them look good.

Expansys have changed from a "keep me notified" page to a pre-order page. I don't know whether that's due to a site relaunch (can't recall whether I've seen that design before), or whether it's changing.
BTW, for a while now, I haven't seen Simply listed on the Google Shopping page when searching for the Zenwatch.

I pre ordered back in October but nothing since then obviously. Dunno if I should pre order again! Had a price when I first did it. £159.98 is the price that was given.
Just looked on simply be and it's on their site for pre order just under £200 - site has changed a lot since I made that horrible mistake of ordering from them a while ago.

I have a zenwatch in my possession in the UK. It was ordered from the US via Big Apple Buddy. I ordered it on Friday 5th December at around 2100, paid by PayPal and had it - with shipping & tracking information and regular updates - delivered by FedEx by 1030 on Monday 8th December.
The total cost was around $285, including service charges, but felt this was still pretty good value in the realm of early adoption, given the interminable wait for the damn thing to reach the UK.
I can vouch for the fact that Big Apple Buddy are entirely safe and reputable.
And the watch? Well worth it, especially with 5.01 sideloaded.
I looked at them^ but they came back much more expensive than this!
I've just ordered a Gear VR from Samsung US using .comGateway - very reasonable $20 plus postage.
