How to change the function of the volume keys?
A problem of having fewer buttons on the phones is that you must turn on the screen for any little thing.
In jailbroken Apple devices can install an application that lets you change the function of the physical buttons depending on whether you give a push, two, press and hold ...
I would like to remap the function of the volume buttons to give a long press to make the PLAY / PAUSE.
I got it for a single pulse but this way I lose the original function of the key.
Could anyone help me?
Thank you very much.
Might Work
Or if you're up to it...
Do it manually
I got something similar to what I intended.
I got that with a single press of volume down makes me PLAY / PAUSE and having you hold me down the volume. So do not lose their original function.
The solution has been.
1, Modify the / system / usr / keylayout / tuna-gpio-keypad.kl
on the line that reads: key 114 VOLUME_DOWN WAKE
replace: key 114 HEADSETHOOK WAKE
This I achieved the volume down key button functions do that comes in the headset. PLAY / PAUSE and take calls.
2 ° Install the application JAYS Control Headset or similar.
Set the Volume Down key so that when the left turn the volume down (the application lets many other combinations but I like it).

Hi, so if some of you didn't noticed yet, on the HTC free hand set coming with the phone, there is two buttons.
Button 1 and 2 which can both be pushed simply or be pushed & held.
Actually thoses buttons have quite an useless purpose as they are for button 1 as it seems "End call" and "dial last call" and button 2 if held "voice dial". (Maybe there's even only one button, the thing is actually quite dodgy).
What would be awesome would be to make a little .cab that would mod those buttons to lets say :
Button 1 simple click : Next Song in TF3D player
Button 2 simple click : Previous Song in TF3D player
Button 1 Hold : End call / Redial (Or volume +)
Button 2 Hold : Something like : Mute or unmute (Or volume -)
Whatever the idea is there, and it's up to you fancy devs now
Anyone knows how to disable that irritating rocker button at the side for volume control? While turning device on or off, the button inevitably get pressed, sometimes such that the ring volume became too low. I tried AE Button Plus which I thought was a god-send but it worked erratically. Usually after a soft reset, it will work but after sometime, it became the volume control again. And to think I actually paid for that software...
AE button works like a charm for me. Long hold volume up turns the volume up etc. 3 presses up bluetooth on / 3 presses down W-lan on.
Hi, is there any ways to change the track by holding or tapping the volume buttons(instead of turning on the phone and everything)?
I also use headphones w/ controls but everytime I press the button, it either pauses or plays the music and if I double press, it redials. Is there a way to fix that too?
Thanks in advance.

Click to collapse
This will be implemented in CyanogenMod 6 I believe. With the screen off, you can hold the volume key down and it will skip forward or backward depending on which key you are pressing.
Thanks for the reply!
I installed CM11 on this yesterday and so far so good. My final attempted tweak is to adjust the volume with my keyboard.
I edited Default.kl and managed to remap VOLUME_UP & VOLUME_DOWN but when I push it I'm only getting 3 steps: 100%, 0%, mute. I can still adjust the volume normally by opening 'Settings -> Sound -> Volume' so I'm stumped as to why I can't get the same behavior by sending a volume keypress. Why must OUYA make me use the slider?
My main hope is that I can get it working with my bluetooth keyboard and then use Flirc to program my remote to finally get volume control in Xbmc.
tldr; I'm sending volume_up/down keypresses via bluetooth but only getting 3 steps to the volume control...why?
Hey, I want to completely disable my volume keys for any volume activities. I just want them to be power buttons. I generally use the inbuilt feature of AICP to wake from volume keys but sometimes it triggers the volume too. I want to remove that and only use it as power button no volume. Does anybody has any idea about how to do that.
