yes entirely normal, there is a metal frame around the screen protecting it, its nice how hidden it is
i had my Desire HD for 19 months inside a pouch and never collected any dust, the moment i see something stuck i blow it out
stop being so picky!

I didn't think that was a picky post at all!! Mine has the same gap a the top and apart from attracting dust, it does worry me that this is a potential route for things to get behind the screen.
It was a legitimate question hamdir. Stop being so angry!
Yep, mine has a gap at the top and right side of the screen. Seen it mentioned by others here too.
Took only one day for the dust to gather and be visible in good light...
ok here is a non angry answer, use a pouch if you worry so much about the state of your device, my Desire HD is still new after 19 months thanks to the pouch
pouch is the best of both worlds, since you still enjoy the device naked when you use it

i have both for the Desire HD, but i've been using the normal leather one for the HD2 since it's slimmer
i can't use a device with it out now, when i take it out i put over the pouch and it protects the back especially the camera lens
The One X fits in the HD2 pouch but like 10% of it remains outside, i need to hunt a slim pouch for the One X
There's a gap on both the left and right sides of the display on my unit. The gap on the left is a fraction wider, and both sides have started to collect dust despite the fact that I've been using the official case since day one. It's mostly a non-issue for me, but there's this one stubborn particle that won't budge no matter what I try. It just sits there like a thorn in the side.. of my device.

I think there are two issues here. One is the normal gap between the side lining and the glass but the glass makes contact with the lining all the way around. BUt others have shown a real gap between the screen and lining that you can see the screens light through and dust can directly enter the screen area. The first is normal, and the second is not!
Someone posted pictures of the screen gap around the top of their phone and compared to mine there is definitely a big difference so I think OP made a valid post and isn't being "picky". My phone has a nice even fit all the way round whereas this other phone looked like the screen was kind of lifting away from the case. Mine also lets no light leak through whatsoever.

I bought white one and noticed 2 defects. 1st near power button there is a slight gap on one side.
2nd gap between screen and body at the top can see led light through gap.
Annoying I didn't have these problems with the black version. Aaarghh.
You can't imagine IPhone screwing up this badly and all hell would break lose if they did.
Having said that I wouldnt swap my one x with any other mobile. Someone offered to swap their IPhone 4s 64gb for my one, nah.

Hi everyone
Just interested in finding out what case everyone is using or going to purchase.
I originally got the HTC HC 701 white flip but it gets dirty so quick so I am using the original pouch by HTC which I hate because I always feel nervous when taking my phone out or when anyone says " let me have a go on your phone" my heart starts racing. So I decided to order Noreve case in Ocean Blue but they take a month to deliver (What a joke) so I have ordered the Covert branded PU croc flip style case.

i bought the Melkco TPU black matte for 15 on ebay. i don't know how i like it yet, but it's probably good.
Im using the cheapo one that was recommended on here from eBay and hate it. But there is so little else available that it will have to do for now.
I'm using this one from Amazon, and love it:

To be REALLY correct: The camera lens is behind the glass.
That glass though is only recessed about a mil under the ring.
So better to have it protected by a few more mils of rubber then to accidentally get a scratch that will become the focal feature of all your future photos!

I had one of them, it offers great protection back & front, but it didn't fit properly around the micro usb socket, due to excess plastic. No biggie, especially for the price
Now ordered a Rock TPU case and Shocksock neoprene pouch.
Yeah it is so annoying when a phone is realised you have to wait at least 2months before you can hold of a decent case that you are happy with.
But saying that with my DHD I got as soon as it came out the Piel Frama case was available straight away.

I have this and the official HTC One X Slip Pouch...
Initially I only had the pouch but found the phone a little slippery at times and droppped it in the office.
I bought a black TPU case off eBay before the release of the phone. It fits very well and adds only a little bulk to the phone. I prefer without a case but for safety sake I'm using it. For £3 or so its a great deal and was delivered quickly in the UK. Don't see the point in spending silly money when this is is as good as any I've tried previously for other phones.

Check Martin Fields screen protector. It has a small circular protector specifically for the glass that houses the camera. It is not cheap ranging at around 20-26 dollars but at least you dont have to fidget around coming up with a circular protector for the camera.
Try eBay, I think they sell them there...

Anyone else find that the grey HOX plastic shell suffers from wear? The grey coating on the rear has turned slightly shiny in places, suggesting to me that some of the matte surface has worn away in my trouser pocket. Also a few micro scratches on the gorilla glass! I'm not particularly phased by it, though it does seem rather soon for it to display signs of use! Still waiting for my Casemate Tough to arrive!
At least we don't have the shiny scratch-lusting build quality of the Samsung Galaxy S series

when i got my HOX i got a pouch with it and a screen protector was the first thing to on it, i've just brought this http://goo.gl/rgAO5 for £1.25 it's real nice my friend got on for his HOX thats what made my buy it lol
I've got a black HOX the only thing "shiny" on the back is the grease marks from the bacon sandwich i had this morning #yummy.
I put mine in a leather pouch when in not using it. I bought a screen protector but am not putting it on yet until some of the screen flickering issues on grey colors get solved. Though my flickering actually seems to have solved itself drastically and I only have a hint of what it once was at max brightness only now.

Perhaps it's just me then! It has to be said though, that the back of the grey HOX certainly marks/scuffs easier than the White handset and is also a sucker for showing finger prints!
I have the Grey one, all I'm saying is I completely disagree with everything said here.
I had the White one and every mark or scuff showed up on it, if you had dirty fingers then it was a right sucker for fingerprints. This Grey one is the complete opposite, besides I completely disagree with it being Grey, it's more Browny...

It's a really hard colour to describe because calling it Brown is pretty stupid of me, but with it being Matte Grey its almost not Grey? It's Dark...
I'd argue with your statement there. It's certainly robust in the respect that if you dropped it, its bouncy and prevents damage and reduces the chances if the screen smashing. Maybe due to the Matte & the texture its durability (for choice of better word) isn't as good as HTC make out.

I'm not here to say who is right and wrong, just to tell that I've send back my One X to HTC for one to one exchange due to flickering issue and from the job sheet stated the color was actually Brown.
I wish if there was some kind of polish that would restore the coating of the back and remove the shiny marks
perfect thing to remove shiny marks, a piece of sandpaper/emery paper, not recommended though on an expensive bit of kit like the one x.
honestly.....the only shiny parts would be oil from fingertips. I just rub it off and it looks new
And the phone is grey........the circle ring thing around the camera is brown

The polycarbonate (plastic) is shiny. The matte coating is applied. So you can't remove the "shiny," it's the matte coating having been removed that created it.
Well I guess it's just what happens to everything after a while. Used phones will end up looking used eventually!

Not sure if you noticed but the phone has a plastic shell and plastic is an insulator, not a conductor. When the phone feels warm on the outside, I can assure you, it is much warmer on the inside.

My aluminum bumper came in today... was shipped out on the 4th, and arrived on the 10th(wasn't expecting it to come till next week)
Thoughts:
If you like aluminum bumpers, then definitely get this. The quality is very good. There were a couple things I was worried about in regards to the bumper:
GOOD:
1. Since the phone is encased, I was worried that the fit may not be right. Either too snug or too loose. Phone fit's just right!
2. being a metal bumper I was worried about the type of lining the case would have. I own an iphone 4s as well and have metal bumpers for them, so lining is important. The lining on this is felt so it does not scratch the phone at all!
3. being a bumper, it will add a little bit of depth to your one x, not by a lot though, very minimal.
4. the buttons are very responsive and don't seem out of place. you have access to all your ports.
BAD:
1. if your looking for a bumper that will protect the camera, DO NOT get this bumper, the camera lens sticks out(see pic)
2. if you have headphones that are larger than regular size ("L" shaped) they will not work
3. definitely definitely DEFINITELY need to have a screen protector. I know it's gorilla glass, but when you slide the top portion of the bumper IT MAY scratch the screen. Also if your going to put this in your pocket, over time the bare metal may scratch the beautiful screen.
That's it, if you love aluminum bumpers, then you will like it....

Seriously, you would confess that if you sent it back!?? It's not like you've broken the terms and conditions such as when you flash the ROM.
It's a bumper, not a case so it won't stop the air circulating around the phone to cool it, and in contrast will act a bit like a radiator, conducting the heat away from the device onto a bigger surface area and increasing the cooling capability.
I like the idea, but the small added protection offered by a bumper compared to the loss of slick, thin, svelty feel phone without a thick bumper is not worth it for me.
Good find from digimaz though... "ALUMINIUM Metal Bumper Case for HTC One X" couldn't be more like it says on the tin!

I want this case, too bad it has a loose fit, I might settle if they come out with more colors

What do you mean by loose? Does it come off easily like the Incipio Frequency (personally I don't find that a problem) but if it falls off than yeah that's too loose!

Would u mind posting a picture of how the htc one looks with the case on? If u still have it

I bought 2 of this ref for my girlfiriend and i, and the fit is perfect for both or us. No loose point. But i can confirm one thing despite of the minimalist design this protection is incredible. My deary let her One fall 2 times, once inside house, once in the street very badly...after removing this Belkin protection to check the phone, not a single mark on it. I even used the belkin screen protect which is really easy to apply, no air bubbles, and really protective. Best ever used.

Would u mind posting any pics? I'm really interested in how it looks on the phone

Well I went out and got one at target but quickly returned it, it was a tight fight like the phone is secure but the sides, top and bottom stick out so it makes the phone look roundish, basically made my htc look look like a galaxy s4 lol, the top and bottom stick out too much to where u can see a gap between the lip and phone, it was a bummer because if it was a perfect fit the case is extremely nice looking on the silver one and probably the nicest tpu case I've come across, I hope there is a revision of this

that's a shame
running out of options... looking for a less bulky case than the uag yet still protective. i've pretty much given up my hopes of sgp making a neo hybrid case for us HTC One owners.. not feeling any love from them lol
hopefully someone will step up and create a quality fake neo hybrid for the HTC One or something :fingers-crossed:

I feel u, the only case I use is my uag because I feel like I'm settling with other cases, diztronic would have been the perfect one but the camera cutout is a joke to me it looks like an eye

It's an amazing design just try it on before u buy, to see if the fit bothers u or not

I know I'm resurrecting an older thread, but I just wanted to chime in with my experience. I bought one of these cases on eBay, and I agree that the fit on the top and bottom leaves something to be desired. Other than that, I really like the case, so I got out my heat gun (not just a hairdryer), and heated up the top and bottom until they were warm enough to push in and reshape a little bit. That made the case fit a lot better. Be careful if any of you decide to do this, though. The grey part can melt if you get it hot enough.

Exact same problem with my Belkin Grip Sheer Matte case.

i think that this cover could be very nice ! but i should go for a 3mm because i think its the same for protection but the weight its better !
The case does add quite a bit of bulk to the phone. It makes it a lot wider than it needs to be, and there's sort of a sharp seam around the edge near the top. I stopped by a T-Mobile store today and picked up a Speck Candyshell Grip case for less than $20. It fits amazingly well, and really makes the fit of the Belkin look terrible, even after I got it to fit better with a heat gun.
So I have found an interesting Ice dot view clone on aliexpress, with both advantages to be much cheaper and to have a protection for the lower part of the 10.
Though it's important for me to see if I can take out the 10 easily from it or not as I stick my 10 on a sticky pad in the car
Also do you think the touch using the cover lid closed will be as good as the original?

Just received my clone today. It's great. See-through back and sits flush when case flipped but the front (not sure if same material as original) which is rubber is a dust magnet. Overall great case. Also it's secure. I shook it multiple times and it never fell out. And only $8 for for the one I found.

What do you mean by dust magnet?
Is it easy to take out the phone from the cover?
Is it heavy?

1. The front flap gets dust on it a lot.
2. Quite easy to take out of case
3.Not heavy at all.

It would be nice to put some photos :fingers-crossed:
So the dust is ''glued'' due to the tpu greasy texture right?
where you bought it?

I wonder which color is better, grey or black, I would take the black one but I am afraid it won't be transparent enough to see the screen?

I have the grey one. It's not as transparent as the official case (I have both).
Be prepared to reorder replacements... The Ali express cases suffer from the same problems that the M9 Dot View Ice case had, with the hinge tearing.

So it's not durable, though I don't fold out the case 360 if this is the reason why it's tearing up?
I had an m9 clone dot view and never had this kind of problem, but it was hard plastic, this 10 ice view clone looks like soft TPU at the back and all around

The only soft TPU parts are the grey coloured parts. The clear back is made from a hard PC material.
Not sure if the tearing will be any less by not opening the flap 360 degrees, but you may be correct. Mines too far gone to test this for you.

I just received mine today, too. Grey front/hinge/sides and clear back. So far it is far superior to the quality of the HTC One M9 Dot View case I bought (lol this one even came in an m9 dot box with an htc 10 sticker). I haven't noticed the front slip/smack any in my pocket (I saw that someone else mentioned the HTC 'official' ice view case does this). The only thing that I haven't had a chance to mess with is customizing what the Ice View screen does...if that is even possible, I haven't looked into it.
All in all, if you have $8 and don't mind waiting 10-14 days, then I'd strongly suggest picking one up.

So it looks like the grey one is the best choice then, the magnet thingy doesn't look like it will scratch the screen?

The magnet thing has not even left a 'wear' ring or any other indication that it is might blemish the screen. I had it in a tight pants pocket and even gave it to my daughter (aged 6) to test. The only thing that I have really not like about it is that I will have to reevaluate my security settings. Primarily what OK Google is capable of without fingerprint or other unlock.
It *does* seem to slip, ever so slightly, in the PC clear back, but it is not enough that it would cause the phone to fall out or take more damage if it is dropped.

Is the transparency difference enough to not want the knockoff? I mean I believe I have the black knockoff and it's not bad in that regard.
Is it true the touch response on the clones is somehow not as responsive as it should be?
Anyway there is a new model in town, dunno if these ones are better with the new ''beige'' and 'the very light grey colors: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Top-..._8&btsid=381788ef-4746-4ef6-a67c-12d2d64fa07f
The clear back case is a huge plus. But trust me the front is much worse than the htc original one in every aspect: worse touch responsiveness, higher friction(the original have glossy feel), worse display clearity.
But for such a low price I guess you couldn't ask for too much.
