I dont know what it is, I have a task killer that kills running apps but it doesnt seem to work.
In 20 mins my battery drops 10% and i dont do much so i dont know what cases it.
Does anyone know a forum that I can get info from? OR any kernel that can help me with battery life?
If your going to be rude please dont comment because I WILL return the animosity!!! THANK YOU!
Task killers cause more problems then they solve, don't use them.

Well what can I use bc nothing seems to be working at this point.
What's your battery usage showing as the process that drains the most battery.
It's probably background sync from e-mail or IM clients.

Many are using the dopio kernel found in the dev section and setting the main to conservative, then creating one profile that sets the cpu at 245/245 when the screen is off. I have also seen/used a free app "juicedefender" that in theory looks helpful. Unfortunately, I suffer from obsessive ROM updating disorder and cant speak to how effective these methods are as my constant reflashing and rebooting destroy battery life.

Aha!
I suffer from the same problem!
I installed the app and im going to see if it helps.
Thanks!
Did you wipe battery stats and charge properly?
I use Advanced Task Killer Pro and have it kill apps on screen off.
Along with SetCPU to clock 245/245 on screen off.
A day, little use, I go down 8%. Regular use, about 20%.
My max is about 4 days. Using CM6 with dumfuq's 844 kernel.

What rom are using? My wifes phone is running cm6.0.0 and when I checked this morning was over 2 1/2 days uptime and 42% battery left.
Hey guys,
I'm currently running CM7RC0 on Savage CFS1.6 kernel. I've previously used stock kernel, the CM7 kernel, and CM6.1.0, 6.1.1, and 6.1.2. Throughout all of these, I've had serious battery charge issues. I've tried wiping battery stats (through AmonRA) while at 100% charge, then draining the battery entirely before fully recharging again, and that didn't really help. As of right now, I'm already down to 75% after a little over one hour off the charger.
According to Battery Monitor:
47% of this was "Cell Standby"
32% was "Phone Idle"
13% was "Display"
8% was WiFi
Does anybody have any advice? Would doing a full factory reset then reflashing CM and the kernel help at all? That's pretty much the only thing I can think of possible helping that I haven't tried.
Thanks in advance.
Anybody? Anybody?

Have you tried the app spare parts? Maybe there is something running in the background that is draining your battery. once you launch the app click on battery history and then you will have 2 dropdown options. click the bottom option and select total in all time and for the top option switch between all options and see if anything sticks out at you...meaning a process is taking up alot of usage. If you find one just click on it and it should tell you what the program or app is and you can just force close it depending on what it is. I hope this helps, if it did please hit the thank you button.
EDIT: Also just as a friendly word of advice, alot of people on here dont like when you "bump" your post to the top by reposting below it. I have gotten flamed a couple of times before I learned my lesson. The communitte here is great and someone will respond even if it takes a while.

facebook is top of the list under "partial wake usage," listing over an hour and a half (i've only had my phone in-hand for maybe half an hour since unplugging it three hours ago). did a force-close, i'll see if that helps. also turned off notifications since they don't really do much anyway.
also, i installed superpower and messed around with the settings in there (turned off 3g when the screen is off, cool it with the processor when screen's off, etc.) so hopefully that'll help too.
thanks for the help (and sorry for the bump, i was just getting a little frustrated- 50 thread views and 0 responses until you got here )
MikFroyo solved my problems. The other roms would not lsst more than 6 or 7 hours. I wonder if it has something to do with the hardware revision since others do not seem to be reporting the same issues.
Hi guys,
Anyone have an idea what would cause my battery stats to have very high "Android System" usage all of a sudden. No new apps installed.
Thanks
I'm seeing this get pretty high as well. Starting to wonder... TW really limits the information in the Battery Status dialog. Hopefully we'll get ROMs soon that have more detailed information like I had in MikG.

Please keep me posted if you find anything
System Panel works really well for me I found. Paid version is totally worth it, too.
Just another thought/question...
I am assuming since it is "Android System" causing such high usage ( I have 5% battery left and android system is 30%), that it cant be an app I installed causing the issue.
It has to be something that is either part of the stock ROM (I am stock, not rooted) or something core to the android operating system. PLease let me know if you agree with my logic that it cant be an installed app.
Just trying to find the root cause at this point or determine if I have to hard reset which I dont feel like doing.
Thanks again
The original SGS2 has an issue similar to this.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1290020
They discovered with it that the processor has to ramp back up to 800MHz to do its pre-deep sleep tasks, in addition to taking longer than normal to do those tasks. So with a phone that woke up often to sync, even limiting the processor to 200 MHz with the screen off, it still spends a considerable amount of time at 800 MHz. I don't think they have a fix, but you can work around by limiting the amount of syncing the phone does while sleeping.
Don't know if this is related, since TMO SGS2 doesn't use the Exynos.
Thanks for the reply. My problem is that the battery usage for android system used to be 5% or less and now out of the blue is 25-30%.
Did you change any sync settings? Setting up an email account or maybe a widget to sync could do it. The phone has to do a bunch of system related tasks when it wakes up and goes to sleep, and those fall under "Android OS", so even if it is waking up to sync for an app, the system still has to do stuff, and more than usual when coming out of sleep. Like the other thread said, the original SGSII does all these things at a far higher clock speed than it needs to, and takes longer than most phones do.
I myself don't have the phone yet, nor do I have an original SGS2, but you could look up much of the same information the gentleman who wrote up the OP in that thread I linked to see if the issue is related.
I was so annoyed with this issue that I decided to do a factory reset. I dont think it helped.
So far after being off the charger for 2 hours....I sent 5 texts, browsed web for about 5 minutes. I am down to 87%. Display time is 46%, used for 18 min and android system is 17% with stay awake time at 3 minutes, and there are other items taking up battery at 5% or less like cell standby, android os, market
Does this seem normal, I never rememver android system taking up over 5% even with little usage. I am actually pissed because I would have thought that a factory reset would have helped for sure.
BTW, I am only syncing one acct, Google
I've been watching with betterbatterystats for a couple days now. I've got Skype running in the background so I expect that to use some battery and cause some wake ups.
But it has turned out that location services and updates have been doing a lot more, as much as 7000 in one day. They show up as something related to Maps, but I think that it might be Latitude. So I have disabled that location tracking. We'll see if it helps, there isn't much more using my battery. It is just something keeping it from deep sleeping.
If this doesn't work I'll look at other location apps like weather and such. I already uninstalled Accuweather after reading about how they transfer your location tracking information over the Internet unencrypted!

Just use the stock App Manager in settings. And if battery is an issue, go to About Phone, then battery and you can see whats been using it. Hope this helped
i like ZDbox app.
don't use task manager they screw **** up more then they fix, suggestion,
Find the list of safe to remove apps and remove ones u don't need, apps lik keis, mms, gmail/email, etc are constantly running, remove and replace wirh 3rd party counterparts.
Use a rom with CIQ removed, use undervolting scripts helps with battery aswell.
I can't stress this enough, DONT USE TASK KILLERS unless u know what their actually designed for.
Think of it like a PC in this sense, if you use taskmanager and kill a load of programs, depending on what u kill, can have horrible side effects, in the sense of android, when an apps not closed properly, peices can still exist in the ram.
Those peices can have effects on that, and other programs on your phone.
Your best bet for clearing ram is a reboot.
Simple, as for seeing programs running, hold home and hit taskmanager (plz keep in mind the above)
Or simply go to SETTINGS>applications>memory use and click running tab on top right.
Hope this helps. Peace

Ye there's no way it should b doin that..
10pm to 5:30am my battery drops 7-10%
@OP
2 possible solutions:
1.) Above post gut it pretty good
2.) Kernels not allowing deep sleep mode, flash a new kernel
#2 seems more plausible at this point considering your OP in full.
If its abnormal battery drain screen off ur phones not enabling deep sleep.
At this point most apps are effectively "paused" or slowed down
Making the battery drain almost irrelevant, my battery dies about 1% hourly screen off
Thanks to this mode.
Apps like SetCPU etc. Can also cause this if configured incorrectly
If using a CPU. Control app, uninstall it, trust the phone enough to do
Its own thing.
I will never recommend taskmanagers or CPU utilitys, if I did, what's the point in kernel deving besides OC?

Scenario:
Yes, yes, I know. Battery life issues. This is a common problem, noticeably on the Samsung Galaxy S3. However, I've taken a look at MANY MANY threads concerning this common and irritating issue. I always ensure that my data is off, wifi is off, airplane mode is enabled, power saving mode is on, sync is off, brightness is at low, etc. I've even gone to the running services section and manually stopped unnecessary processes. However, my battery life is still terrible. I've tried different roms, different kernels, and eventually found myself back at the stock rom and kernel (best stability). I've debloated my device. I even downloaded a bunch of useless battery saving apps that don't do much apart from the obvious. Is there anything I can do? I will be putting up screenshots of my battery stats.
Usage;
I am a typical user when it comes to smartphones. I browse through xda forums, watch some youtube videos, browse the internet, play a few games, and soon enough the battery begins to plummet. I've noticed at times that the phone gets hot. I have a general knowledge of the things that drain my battery the most. After looking at the battery stats section that comes with phone, it says that Android system, media, and screen use the most battery. Whats the point of having a smartphone if you have to tweak almost everything just to allow your phone to last one day?
I am thinking that there are certain background processes that are dramatically draining my battery. I don't have many apps installed, because I am always flashing roms. I've wiped media storage data, by the way. Some apps that I have installed are the xda developers app, dolphin browser, rescan media root, root browser, rom manager, DS Battery Saver, and lux dash.
Extra: I've debloated (still some left over garbage stock apps leftover but not much, and does it actually help?), I've installed lux lite and lowered my brightness to the point where you can barely see the screen, and I've also downloaded rescan media root and disabled media scan (I heard it has some effect).
If you have any suggestions, please post them. Thanks for reading my thread.

TL;DR all the way since there is no numbers. We need numbers and better yet wakelocks. The info you state sounds like normal usage that should get about 2-3 hours screen on time, and 16 hours or so day usage. You say you turn off data, and wifi, and put on airplane mode, and stuff and yet you use the phone normally?? Either way give us screen on time and the main users, and the graph.
Furthermore, no need for duplicate threads....

I'm going to charge up to 100% and then when I get to about 50% battery life or so I will post screenshots. As I stated in my first post, I acknowledge that there are many battery problem threads out there, but people also say it can vary from phone to phone, and I will soon post screenshots so that somebody can at least tell me what is causing my battery drain, specifically and what I can do about it.
If anybody feels that this is a duplicated thread, please refer me some links or useful threads that I can look at.

Should I just leave it overnight and then post bbs log tomorrow?
Btw, should I install ktweaker so that I can set governor to conservative and also tweak some settings or should I leave it alone?
Also if you really want reliable results, either run the tests on the primary rom you will be using or run on stock rooted. Dont debloat because it can be very easy to remove something that could impact performance. You can do that after running your tests and gathering data. The further down you run your battery, the more reliable the data btw.
This hasn't been much of an issue since JB came out, but if the media scanner is using a large amount of power delete all your media content from both internal and external sd cards. Clear data on media storage (factory reset preferred) and run a day w/o the media on your device.
As stated above though, BBS screenshots are needed for further help.

No.
Charge it up before you go to sleep. Unplug the phone, turn off the display, and let it sit idle while you sleep for at least 4 hours. When you wake up, open BetterBatteryStats, and press the share button on the top right. Dump to txt file and post it here.
If you give BBS root access, and set it to show alarms (in the advanced settings), that can be helpful also. It's better if you can do this, actually. Then run your test.

I left it on overnight, battery only drained like 4% so I don't think its a problem when its in idle. As of now I am testing how long my battery will last with moderate usage. I'm hoping it will last at least 24h its been 10h and its at 79%. Its that good? I've mostly been listening to music, I haven't opened any apps. Only problem is whenever I am on xda or playing a game, the battery seems to drain like 1% every 5-10 min. Is this normal?

Have you seen this? http://www.jeffmixon.com/examining-build-prop-tweaks-for-android-ics-a-comprehensive-guide-part-1/
Most of the battery "tweaks" in use by custom ROMs are in there. And I was running stock deodexed before S3Rx and ultimately Dandroid. Battery is always good as long as I run LJC firmware.

Just took a quick look at it, looks pretty complicated for me. What exactly is the difference between deodexed and odexed anyways? I've heard of both of them but never really understood what they were. Which firmware do you run on currently?
For the firmware are you referring to the 4.1.1 JB firmware T999_UVDLJC?
