My mate walked in to the store thursday afternoon and walked out with one. I spoke to their retention team who stated they had no idea when in April it would be released for them. Hence me going over to Orange. I couldn't wait a single second longer than I had to.
Unfortunately the registration is for UK T-Mobile......

I thought this might be a good time to start a thread for the Aussies to discuss the UMTS 850MHz version HTC Desire being launched by Telstra on the 27th of April. I know there has been discussion on Whirlpool but it's mostly about people grey importing the 900MHz version.
I've moved from the imate JasJam to the HTC Touch Diamond to a Nokia E51... and now it looks like the HTC Desire. There was no way I was going to get sucked into Apple's iSpin.

Can you let me know if the Hardware has any branding on it? I'm assuming that the SW is branded regardless. I want to pick one up to use in the US on ATT 850 mhz.

Does anyone know if Telstra would ship this to the US? Also, can someone confirm 850 band on their version of the Desire for use with 3G? Their website does not have detailed specifications.
the telstra desire is definitely on the 850 band for 3G, it's telstra's wiz bang technology.
as for telstra sending you a mobile overseas, i'd be pretty surprised if they would, i guess you can always ring up and find out yourself.

pretty sure they did for the HD2.
They will and I have seen posts elsewhere. It will cost full price plus unlocking fees of upto $150. So around $900 seems abit high to me.

Have seen no indications so far that it's available anywhere (other than from importers like Expansys, etc.) either on pre-order or off the shelf. If VzW (or their resellers) have a surprise rollout planned for today or Monday, it's been the best-kept secret in the past 25 years.

Off contract --> still SIM locked. Are Nokia phones pretty easy to get unlocked? That's a great benefit of HTC -- very unlockable.

Yes... many unlock companies out there. Unlocked my Lumia 710 with no issue. However, point taken... it may be a couple weeks before unlocking is possble and at a reasonable price. I paid $7 to unlock the Lumia 710 but yet a Samsung C414 clamshell phone cost $30 to unlock. Go figure.. the cheaper phone was way more expensive to unlock.
I would still like a Nokia Lumia 900 in Cyan whether it be an AT&T phone or Rogers. Looks like the Cyan is only in the USA.
It sucks that I cant preorder the phone because I want no commitment. What difference does it make

I had not seen the multiple shades of blue until yesterday, when they showed in the new set of pics on the Nokia site. I agree, I'd like to see the offering in person. I heard that some stores have both on demo, but most only black.

The only logical answer would be they let you upgrade early. Four months after I got my Samsung Focus on the original launch day 11/8/10 I was offered early upgrade to iPhone. I would think that they will let you upgrade early for their flagship device.
Also, I read some where else, (Can't find atm) that an At$t rep told someone there would be early upgrades for the Nokia Lumia 900.

I was checking att.com last night after midnight and noticed the "maintenance" message and assumed they were adding the content to handle pre-orders. But its still not available on the site yet. Might have to drop in on my local store and see whats up. That will also give me another opportunity to see the sales reps Lumia 900 ;-)
yeah.. I think I'll have to swing by ATT again this morning and drop a pre-order down on this thing.. Cyan lumia 900, here I come.

Where did you order it from? Depends on the seller,but I think most of them are made in China It has been released in Russia. Usually re sellers are working with many distributors which dictates the origin of your phone.

Negri is a pretty decent phone dealer, I better not get just the Z haha I`d be pissed cause I wouldnt get 3G on AT&T with just the Z. So W`ell see I should have it Friday. They havent even shipped it yet and wont til Monday
