Can please someone find me a Kernel for my GT-B5510 device??
I accidently instaled a kernel for a similar device and of course the result was a disaster.
I already tried to install a new firmware from sammobile with odin but it failled.
Any suggestions??

Good sir I will explain my noobness that bricked my phone...well when I got the phone and after being amazed by Android OS and the device itself I decided to dig deep and know more but almost every path led me to GT-S5360 related topics.
and being impatient i found this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1534510 and I thought both devices where very similar so I went ahead and installed a Kernel from that thread...When it rebooted it was a soft Brick.
I can get to recovery mod and CWM mode and download(odin mode) and I guess if I could Find a Kernel(stock or custom ) being able to flash it my phone would be revived.
Sorry for the long post, and thanks for the attention.
see my update
thank you maroc

Upon reading the " service manual of galaxy y " there was written and it is something about its camera capacity. It says that camera is " up to 8megapixel "
I mean, maybe the camera hardware of our device is upgradeable as we can read on the first post that the board supports 8megapixel.
I will try to post any proof with this. I just read it from the service manual.

Hello everyone I rooted my phone but I also want to OC it but I must be sure it will not brick my phone etc...
The link I found is this: freshnewsarea.com/tricks/overclock-samsung-galaxy-y-to-900-mhz/
Is this safe to do and is it compatible with 2.3.6 Gingerbread ?
Thanks In advance (sorry for the stupid questions but I don't want to brick my phone as my Dad would be very mad at me)

thanks for replying but I see that custom kernel is still in beta stage so it can be buggy isn't it ?
Yes it can be. But there are a lot of users out there with the kernel. Just follow the instructions and flash it using one of the many methods. You can only OC it to 900 MHz though. 1 Gz is too buggy.

Hello I would like to tell you there is a nexus 7 system dump available. Maybe this is needed to port JB to our devices.
NOTE THIS IS NOT FOR FLASHING!! THIS IS NOT CONFIGURED FOR THE ONE X! SO DON'T BE DOUCHE!

Good luck! (Devs)

Please do not open more and more Threads!
We have a SDK Port Thread that should be enough until we get the Sources!

correct me if im wrong but the nexus 7 base is a much better base than the SDK mainly because it runs off the same Tegra 3 chip as our OneX so the majority of the libs/modules will be ready for straight use on our device

I've pushed code changes to github so you can build without patching stuff:
https://github.com/ali1234/android_device_samsung_aries-common
https://github.com/ali1234/android_hardware_samsung
https://github.com/ali1234/android_kernel_samsung_aries
Simple instructions for building+installing are here:

Thanks to +Ricardo Salveti for lots of help getting this working. It took me about 12 hours from start to finish (not including repo sync time). I have never used CyanogenMod or built an Android ROM before, so I think this is pretty good, and it says a lot about what can be done when using Android effectively like a HAL - without having to actually know or care anything about Android.
The porting process was really simple once I understood what I was doing. The phablet system is a cut-down Android with Dalvik etc removed, and the hardware adaptations we are bringing over from CyanogenMod try to build Dalvik runtime applications. This stuff has to be stripped out from the HW adaptations. That's really all I had to do to get this working, and if you look at my repos above you'll see that all I did was comment out lines in Makefiles which try to build this type of stuff. There were a couple of other trivial changes needed too. All in all only about 20 lines changed.

As far as i know, ubunto ports currently use a pre-alpha version for developers, i read that camera works, gsm (not 3g/4g/cdma), touchscreen, speaker (not headphone..), most apps do not work as well.. i would suggest to wait a bit for this to get out of alpha to some more user friendly version.

At the outset, I'm sorry for the poor translator google .
Is it possible to update the drivers Mali-400 Ace 2?. From what I know Ace 2 has driver version r3p1-04rel0, while newer drivers appeared r4p0-00rel0 from last year. I know that the custom ROM for Xperia P or U, been updated drivers Mali-400 is why Ace 2 would not have the newer, since it is virtually the same smartphones?

Try it and report ...
Btw i saw in one SGS+ thread that taking the drivers from another samsung phone which has same GPU but newer driver ( bcz the phone itself is newer than sgs+) and replacing that file which is the driver , it gives +300 points in antutu , so in 3D test from 30fps to 50fps....
If the thing that you are trying to do , results succesfully , we will be able to play RR3 or sth.
OC, possibility of changing the drivers to newer ones. Its going better and better, our Ace is getting second childhood

I agree, it`d be nice if sb here try it (sb who know how to do it ofc.)
