In my opinion the best ICS rom for me is the UnOfficial ICS Test Release Xperia Play 4.0.4. Note* If your going to install any ICS custom rom your bootloader has to be unlocked.
Unofficial ics 4.0.4 by mark is the best. Big thank to mark

Paranoid Android. Mark's ICS is 2laggy.

thanks for the reply folks.. i'm always looking forward for markpython's work.. i think there's a big possiblity that the unofficial ics by mark will the official for xplay bcoz he's working with the sony devs.
Thats cool but since Gameloft, EA and others said that there wont be official update, it will be useless.

But I cant wait for the update 3 from mark

Nope. That's the only one. And it's a WIP. A little buggy as of now, but should be ironed out. But thanks to CM/FXP, at least we have JB for our phones.

Not exactly. You get more internal memory with the Arc S firmware.
Hi, I'm currently using Lg g2x as my daily phone and I'm thinking of changing my phone to xperia ion or htc one s.
My g2x lacks driver support and it is near impossible for me to get an ICS/JB update...
I skimmed through threads and it seems like Wind mobile's Xperia Ion can't get custom roms?
can somebody confirm that for me please? thank you
and how are the support from sony and developers for this phone?
thank you
Odp: How's the support?
If you want custom roms you should buy Xperia S. There is a lot of roms and mods for this great phone.

Xperia S is a good phone (performance) but just read around this phone's section for some bricking incidents. It has been happening without any particular cause to many users. Some manage to recover after looong time (maybe even a week) and some unfortunate guys like me are stuck with a dead brick. Sony claims that I had a hard brick (needs motherboard replacement) but I had done nothing except wiping data in CWM. I don't think that you should buy this phone at all. Just go for any other phone.
Well if you plan to buy Xperia ion,buy either LT28i or LT28h that have bootloader unlock allowed : Yes
And then install your fav custom Rom and kernel

Yeah, I've already seen that 2 years ago.
Currently there are only CM10 based ROMs for Xperia Arc S if you're looking for one. I suggest you check the development section and flash a ROM you like rather than ask here as everyone will give different answers and confuse you even more.

Good news
Back in June, we reported of a new Sony Xperia S (LT26i) firmware update that was rumoured to arrive in early July. Well obviously that did not come to pass, but apparently a new update is still on the agenda for Xperia S/SL owners. Sony pretty much confirmed as much on the official support forums, saying that it will have build version number 6.2.B.1.XX. There’s no ETA for the update, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled.

Sure they will...most of Xperia S users only think that Sony will only fix the problems in their phone (Xperia S) only because they (Sony) did reply and respond inside SXS forum...talk about typical Xperia S user that think of their own importance and forget about the others (Xperia SL,Acro S and ion)...
Sorry if my message is kind of a little rage message...I'm quite mad because some SXS user only think about only their phone's problem will be fixed

We'll see
This update will well be the last update we are gonna be receiving.. Since Qualcomm have stopped work for S3 chipset devices.. We won't be getting official 4.2.2.. Same case like HTC One S.. Sad that Qualcomm too rejecting the good handsets.. Damn these companies..!!!!

You have to think about something. If Xperia S won't get updated, what are the chances to update Acro S, sl or ion? Zero.

Thanks for understanding.
And yes, this is keeping me away from flashing PROPER Custom ROMs, which means that some people (incl. me) will have to stick to 4.1.2 forever...
Envoyé depuis mon ONDA MID en utilisant Tapatalk 4 Beta
I actually prefer 4.1 ROMs on xs coz they're much more stable compared to 4.2. I have had battery issues with 4.2 ROMs on xs. Hope Sony release a faster, more stable and more efficient 4.1 rather than 4.2. Lets not forget xs runs on over 2 year old cpu.
[OT]My Wildfire S runs with CM10.1 nearly better than with Stock 2.3.5. But let's not forget it has a CPU that was already 2-3 years old when it was released (ARMv6 generation). [/OT]
Just saying...

But bro, if they give an update to 4.2.2, custom roms will obviously come good.. Atleast if they release sources, that would help devs to build a stable one soon.. But they don't.. And obviously i would choose custom rom over stock anytime.. And what XSP ROM(ported HTC) are u talkin bout bro??
