Well if you can work some magic and make better improvements to the battery life and performance than the OTA's, then by all means do us all a favour and buy the phone

No, it's not that bad at all, but I wouldn't complain about even better performance and battery life!

Ha true! But how the overall performance?
It's smooth, but not as smooth as some ROMs I was running on my sensation. There's also a bit of lag/choppyness with certain things, like if you wake the phone and flick through the screens with various widgets and live wallpaper.
Overall I'm impressed, worth the upgrade and it will only get better.

It's a great device, battery life is good in my opinion and it runs very smoothly. Only lag and problems I experience are software issues, which should be fixed soon.
I'd say : buy it if you want a device now, if you still have time you better just wait a month to see what Samsung Galaxy SIII provides and make an informed decision then.

Hi all,
I have been using a HTC Desire Z. I was wondering if it is a worthy upgrade to the One X? My main dislikes are the non removable battery and no micro SD card. Is there other features would convince me to get this device?

Its a good phone for Entertainment, Gaming, Socialising, Busines & Everything that wherever U go u wont feel like ( O i'm missing this feature or.... hmmm).

It looks good and feels good in the had but im afraid it breaks easily+if it wasnt for our devs this phone would lag like as if it was htc inspire. Is just annoying ow htc doesnt care at all and the funny thing is the way how they address the issues, instead of admitting their fault and trying to fix things they act like as if they are a alreadg highly established brand that is a leading supplier in the industry and no matter what they do still customers will buy their phone but truth is that customers might buy their phone once but when they see they got screwed because their quad core phone performs like a normal phone and pieces start to fall slowly then they go to samsung which btw is way much more dev friendly

Define "special" in the context of a phone. It has the best screen out there, the CPU for which all the best games are optimized, the best UI OEMs ever made, build quality is superb, battery lasts for 5 hours when watching movies... I guess you thought it will also do your laundry and now you are disappointed of it not being that "special".
To OP: I came from Desire HD which was referred as the "big brother" of the Z. I am really happy with my purchase. Though having ICS with sense 4 on the DHD, the difference in the screen and the overall experience is amazing. That's all I can tell you.

In 1 word: ABSOLUTELY
In more words: Your issues with non removable battery and no micro SD card are irrelevant, cuase it has excellent battery (will get even better with SW updates) & 32 GB onboard + 25GB Dropbox + SKYDRIVE + GoogleDrive. And the phone has some CLASS. Definitely UPGRADE.
Well thing is 3G in Australia isn't very good and I do believe that storage will be in the cloud in the future. I personally have stopped using the Sense UI since its so bloated.

Easy peasy. You unlock it via HTCDev. But just for the Tegra model. The US version from AT&T is a world of hurt.

Today I learned the true powers of the Android OS. It's So advanced. I left the 4S for this phone and I never been more happy.
I'm using the Asia One X in the usa on AT&T. The hardware on this phone is amazing. I'm so happy I made the switch.
When I first used it I noticed that the data was a tad bit slow. So I decided to to some research (Google and i go waaay back lol) and i found it could be do to APN settings. But the access point names where good. For all americans using this phone you gotta go online and change your data from Data for iPhone to data for smartphone. you can also call them. I did this now data just as fast as it was on my 4S and I'm getting more signal bars now. went from 3 to full.( if this helped you hit my thanks button) I'm trying to learn everything I can about android everything. any tips on what I can do or who I can talk to would be great. Thanks to all.

Very nice screen, moderate battery life.
Tegra-optimised games are great, but many games aren't optimised - particularly Gameloft ones.
Super smooth stock web browser. Great HTC Sense interface.
Don't get a carrier branded (eg. Vodafone, Orange etc) phone if you're wanting to put custom roms on it at some point in the future.

I was really very tempted to get HOX when it got announced last year which I of course bought. Somehow I don't feel that about ONE. definitely tempted with One. Also signed up for the supposely $100 rebate from HTC. Who knows...I might buy the One to get the rebate and sell it hopefully at a higher price. :fingers-crossed:...unless I decide to keep it

Hello every one,
I bought a Htc One X couple of weeks ago. The phone didn't had any warranty with it. The problem started right from the beginning, i had a faulty device which had a WiFi signal issue. Later i found out that, the camera lens went kaput and i wasn't able to adjust my focus. Now, a mild l screen Flicker started when the phone is on full brightness. After all thesw issues i decided to sell off my one x at a lower price and move on to another device. Even within a couple of weeks i grew fond of this forum. And i am very sad to leave. But, i have to do what i have to do.
My request is, can you please suggest any phone with a good all round performance and good xda dev support and is in the same league as Htc one x?
Thank you so much guys.

Maybe you can specify a price range. Go and look the Nexus 4. If you like the screen - it's a good choice. And the price is tempting.

Seeing that you live in India, the nexus 4 is the best option among the three. You may even sell the one x at about 20000rs and have to pay only 5000 for the N4
Ps - I think phone comparison threads are not allowed on Xda.

I do consider it comparing between two phones but I assure you that n4 will get longer Dev support. Just take the example of the earlier nexus which still has a great Dev community.

My HOX is slowly getting more and more problems, and I too am thinking about switching to another phone. If you want dev support, the Nexus 4 probably has the best xda dev support of any phone ever, and you can expect it to last a looooong time. I'm currently looking at the Xperia ZR (which is available in India) it certainly won't get much for dev support but it looks like a really solid phone with great battery life (much better than N4 but with the same CPU/GPU combo) that's just my 2 cents though. Sony isn't great about updates but as long as they are better and more straightforward than HTC then I will be happy.
Oppo find 5 without a doubt. Maybe the price is a little higher but the screen is much better! And the design is beautiful something you can not say of the N4
