Video Review: SGP Neo Hybrid for Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hey guys,
Got my hands on the Neo Hybrid from SGP, this is a 2-piece hybrid style case that is unique from others as it features a plastic bumper instead of a shell. This allows for a much thinner overall form factor and different look. This is one sleek and stylish case! Although it doesn't provide much protection, it is a pleasure to use and surely to attract some looks! You can check it out completely in the video below;

Not the most protective but the only case that keeps the beautiful shape of the galaxy nexus. I would dare say it makes it look better. Don't know how they came up with it but its amazing. Someone noted that the silicone can sag after a bit but I don't think it will be as big of a problem with the design of it for this case. The rim will be snug... only chance of sagging could be the camera hole in the back.
My only regret after getting the matte silver is not also getting the black and reventon yellow as well!

It most definitely is! As I stated, it is aimed at quality and style over protection

Just went to the site and the only one I see is the Ultra Hybrid and an Ultra capsule. Wonder if they sold out or something. Anyone know the difference between the Neo and the Ultra Hybrid??

I just noticed that, weird. With regards to the Neo and Ultra Hybrids, the Neo Hybrid has a silicone inner layer and a polycarbonate bumper (comes in 2 pieces). Whereas the Ultra Hybrid has a TPU rim with a polycarbonate backing and is a 1 piece case.

Will everyone please take a second to rate your top 3 favorite cases for the s3 ? I am looking for a cool case that protects my phone...other than an otterbox ...too bulky..want something more feminine.

right now its a SGP curved crystal screen protector.. and a seidio active.. it really is a perfect combo..

Loving this case. Great grip, looks really nice on the white GS3 (not sure about the blue one) and it has a kickstand!

For heavy protection when in uniform, I use this:
Otterbox Commuter
Medium'ish protection
And for sexy thing when I don't want all the bulk...

I don't have a top 3 but i've owned the trident aegis and neo hybrid and sent them both back cos of problems with the buttons.
currently I have the seidio active with kickstand which is ok but I find it slippy in the hand. I also have a cheap tpu case which is pretty good but got the acase super legerra this morning which is superb. good grip, not much bulk, buttons work great and fits perfectly and only £10!

Samsung orginal is the best one

I use a Case Mate POP! For my Kickstand Case, a Spigen Modello for my thin case, and I just purchased 3 cheap duel layer mesh cases that I can change out the different color layers to mix things up. Hands down best case is the Acase.

Case and Screen Protector Suggestions

Hello all,
I've had my S3 for over a month now and have been using it bare since day 1. I just can't find a thin and good looking case anywhere. So I'm here to ask you guys what cases are out there that you might suggest?
I'm looking for something, think/sleek, masculine colours , "lay on the table", under $25. Please no bulky cases like OtterBox or anything in that fashion. Those look nasty. LOL
Also looking for a good screen protector. I don't want to purchase the cheap ones at the mall for $1 a piece.

Get the SGP curved crystal if you want to cover the entire screen. I have it applied right now and I can't even tell it's there.

Get the SGP curved crystal like the above says along with the SGP Modello case in black or gray. You may still be able to find them on ebay. It is a very slim tpu case. Good luck!

Anyone know why they like to discontinue their products after a few months on the market? I love the look of the Neo Hybrid, but the only way I can get them now is on Craigslist or eBay.

Take a look at dba cases and their JustLikeGlass screen protector, both are very nice.

The OP said no bulky cases, the UAG isn't exactly slim. The DBA slimgrip is a good, really thin case, and the complete ultra is a really thin full coverage case.

I know you said no otterbox cases but the commuter might be good in your case with a screen protector.. I have the defender series it comes with one and the Grey and white case goes flush with my white s3

I'd suggest either the DBA Ultra or Incipio Faxion.

I have several cases and just received the Ringke Slim Lite case. It has to be the slimmest case in my collection but also the one offering the least protection. For $10 on Amazon you really can't go wrong with the case it feels really soft and I really like that my phone still keeps the skim profile it has.

Yup. I have it also. Only use it when relaxing browsing with the phone lol. Feels so good. The seidio surface has a similar coating, soft grip.

Ultra cases from DBA was the best solution for me because it's consisted of 2 parts so you can also mix the colors the way that suits you most.
I've been using the white TPU matched with a blue slate PC on a pebble blue S3.

Diztronic best TPU case for GS3?

I keep hearing about how nice the Diztronic cases are for the GS3. I watched a review online of the matte black one and it just looks like a normal thin TPU case. What is so nice about them? Just curious as I've already purchased a Speck Candyshell case.

There is nothing special about them other than it does what it was meant for very well. It fits the phone nicely and has a little nicer feel than the $3 ebay TPUs. Oh, btw, don't purchase the matte blue version and expect to be happy with it matching your pebble blue. The glossy sides are too purple looking. The matte back matches but not the sides and front. I would go with the black if I could do it over.

Thanks, I'll see how my Speck looks/feels and decide if I want to grab one of the Diztronic's as well since they are so cheap.

I have the zoogue and what i heard is they are pretty much same except the zoogue has covered buttons. I love mine so far.

I had the matte white one and while it felt good in my hands, the color turned to crap quickly...if you put it in your jeans pocket, it will turn blueish...then I got a zoogue case....I'm actually surprised at how well it feels and the construction of the case feels solid... best case I've used so far

I have the matte black version for the S3. hands down the best tpu case I've used. Matte finish is great, cutouts and fitment is flawless, edges are very solid and tight around phone. The most surprising part is the included dry install SP is the absolute best I've used on this phone.... All for $9.
I believe they live up to the hype.

Where did you buy it from? Amazon?

I have bought Diztronic, but I don't use it. It doesn't work with whole screen protector from Realook.
So I did not like it. Also my case had misaligned cutouts.

They have said that somehow you need to place fingernail to adjust case properly.
I like the texture, but don't use because of incompatibility with my SP.

What I don't like about Spigen and Ringke is that both does not completely cover the top and bottom of the phone.

Just received my Ringke Slim case. Thinnest case I have seen yet. I always bought Diztronic TPU cases in the past but want something that did not add any bulk and kept the look of the device but still offered some protection.
I took some pictures of the case next to my Nexus 4 Diztronic case. My phone is being delivered today so I will add some pics later with the phone it it. This case is thin! I will have to see what I think about it not covering the top and bottom but sonce the corners will be ptotected it should be just fine.

I got ringke too looks great long wait to uk though.

I just went ultra-cheap ass way with thin case.
QuickSand Matte Hard Skin Cover Case
Then again, last 5 of my phone cases have been "sand" cases, for better grip.

Are there any ultra-thin cases that protects the top and bottom (I mostly just want a all around color case instead of missing top and bottom)? I don't need drop protection but only a shell so as thin as possible would be awesome.

Got it along w/ 2 other Spigen cases and like this one the most, slimply because it allows me to plug in a headphone plug and the top and bottom does not have a lip that will trap pocket lint.
Only downside(s) is that it's smooth surface doesn't give you that confident feeling you would have like you would w/ the rubberized surface. It's a tight fit and I worry if I take it off and on that it could damage the volume and power button.
Anybody have an idea of one like this but is rubberized? I don't want anything with funky graphics or designs, just simple plain

I'm also looking for something with a rubberized texture. I got the Ringke Slim case and it has such a feathery smooth finish that I'm constantly worrying about the phone slipping out of my pocket. It's even difficult to get a decent grip if my hands are the least bit dry (which is all the time in the winter). I'd love to find a nice soft TPU case that is slim and slightly rubbery. The SGP Ultra Capsule on my old GS2 was perfect! Anything like that for the N5?

Do not buy the ringke slim case it damages the phone when you take the case off. Also it has sharp edges all over. I had to pull so hard that the back plate of the nexus 5 came off in the corner. Worthless case
