I have the phone since tuesday but there is a yellow spot on the edge of the screen, lots of force closes, sense reloading all the time and some more issues. My friend, also with a one x, has no issues and decent battery life while mine kinda sucks with under 2 hour screen on use.
I know this is partly due to software but my girlfriend had nothing but trouble with her SGS2 while mine worked flawlessly, both the same rooted roms and I tried everything to fix hers.
I'm affraid my One X could be such a 'bad' device as well so what do you say, try to get a different brand new one or wait for software updates?
BT
wait
wait for update.Onex Is the worlds fastest mobile phone .also it has super camera .small problems will be fix within few months .
enjoy your htc onex
I still want the one X just not this one since it has problems.
I think software updates will solve most of the issues which are common whenever a phone that is so popular hits the market. people test them frantically

got it yesterday and there are a couple of issues like the battery drain and the slow rendering on browser but i'm sure this is going to get the sort of support the htc desire did, early days yet peeps
I have faith in it, I love it already.
I had the HTC desire the last 2 years since it came out, and this has better battery life than the desire ever did out the box.
I think we should get good suport this year from HTC with some updates, or plenty of custom roms

too true, think htc have got something in the pipeline already for some of the bugs in the first post
I feel the same its such a beautiful phone..
I was a bit concerned after reading all the bugs etc but believe the OTA update will fix many of those..
Testing the English repack of the Chinese OTA at the moment... so will see how that goes ^_^
I have faith, too... Gonna get it next week. But I think that we should write more letters to HTC and report them all bugs and problems. In my opinion, it is the only way to get them fixed. So hurry up and go to htc.com and write them a letter or a bad review.

Dear All,
I played with the HOX a couple days ago at work as my colleague just purchased one earlier this week. The screen is great and held in hand experience is really good. The phone definitely doesn't feel this big. There are bugs that will be ironed out in the next few months. I'm waiting till May to see if HTC will update the firmware. The waiting is hard but I still have my stable Desire to keep me company.
Does this phone have bugs? Mine runs like a dream, Coming from LG optimus 2x this phone us a work of art, 1billion times better than the optimus 2x, would never buy another lg, as much as I'd hate to say it is rather have an iphone than another lg
100% faith in HTC

just use chrome FFS
the battery issue is a lot better with 1.28 OTA (which most people haven't got yet) or just root and go one of the popular custom ROMs with this fix already applied
This is truly the best device out at the moment.
It is was better than my Samsung Galaxy SG2 and I really loved that device.
Previously I had HTC HD2, which was a great device.
HTC is always excellent for the most part.
Any issue will be addressed in a very short while, believe me, this is the best forum for help and fixes.
As it is still very new, be patient, it will all have within the next few months. Or earlier !
I am running stock ROM and I am super happy with the speed and performance.
Regarding battery usage etc.... it takes a while to tweek it with one's own battery management. ie Use low screen brightness setting, not auto. Don't have everything on auto sync......choosing syncing every 3hrs, 6hrs or 12hrs, 24hrs, unless super important. Keep those wakelocks to a minimum operation. If you don't need an application that is constantly running, change the settings. These are all common sense things to do, but some people forget or don't realise they can change them.
But, rooting is where it is often the best solution, as other kernels will be developed which will always give one the best performance due to customisation of the kernel etc..
But if one is on a stock ROM, like me, battery maintenance is the way to go.
Heya guys,
I've got the ever present upgrade itch that everyone here must know about......
I'm really looking into a good phone camera that has decent battery life as well since I can't always bring me DSLR with me around all the time.
How development and everything for the One X? Battery life? I'm looking specifically at the international version.
Thanks
Development is great. Some solid roms for this device within the first month. Can't imagine what it will be like in half a year or when there's an s-off exploit found. Obviously the phone has some great attraction for some of the features it carries and the design.
On ARHD rom right now I get about 18-22 hours of battery life moderate usage, light usage a couple of days, and heavy usage about 10 hours. I'm very satisfied with this phone. Some other people can drop there comments and let you know; also, there's an official reviews thread you should probably check out.

whats the screen time like when you use it heavily (as according to above 10hrs phone on but how long for screen?)
hmmm
any major bugs? I'd like to try sense out as the only HTC phone that I've used was my mum's Desire Z that I automatically flashed CM7 on back when she had it.
I've "heard" that there are some screen flickering issues and launcher reloading.....
any comments would be greatly appreciated
I've had my One X for 1.5 weeks now and zero problems whatsoever I get about 12-13hrs from the battery with 3-4h screentime

Here's some info on battery life. It's better than the GN. But the GN has the option of extended and replacable batteries which the One X doesn't.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25725630&postcount=25
As for the camera, I don't think it's finished yet. There's been discussion about noise and compression. Some of the pics I've taken in iffy light haven't been that great. The h/w's there I think the s/w needs some tweaking. If you could live with the camera on the GN the One X will be a step up.

Watch reviews and videos about the s3 vs One x phones..then make your decision. I would say One X. Good phone solid great specs and if you are a gamer you will be happy with the Tegra 3 chip...Battery life is solid so far no complaints. Development i am sure it will pick up...So its down to you my friend

I'm definitely let down by the S3....its seems so similar in many ways to the GNexus that I wouldn't consider it as an "upgrade". I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to people without smartphones though.
the HTCOX screams of something desirable to me.......still hesitant though right now
keep those comments flowing in please

The 10 hours probably around 5-6 hours of continuous screen display running videos, games, and other tasks. No sense issues at all except for it uses a lot more battery than pure ics. The screen flickering is unconfirmed as to what is the underlying issue (software or hardware) related. HTC is looking into the screen flickering right now, and launcher reloading I've never had.
I'd say wait 1 month.
QC issues iron over time. S-OFF is not ready as yet. The lack of such 'freedom' will be shocking to a GN user.
Custom ROMs for this device are excellent both in quality and quantity. This is a very popular handset, thus community support is very high.
Battery life is really good. Depending on screen usage you can get 1.5 days usage easy. Heavy usage will obviously reduce that by a lot.

OK so I have a galaxy nexus and got it on launch back in november. I picked up a one x because I really liked the look of it, but so far I can't decide which phone to keep.
The One X is great because it’s lovely to hold, has a fantastic screen and a very decent camera. But the software lets it down – and that’s not some lazy complaint. I’ve owned the phone for two weeks. Whilst Sense 4.0 is a big improvement over previous versions, I still struggle to find any part of it where it’s better than stock ICS, except perhaps the lockscreen which allows multiple targets. But that functionality is common in custom ICS ROMs anyway.
Stock ICS is, I feel, about as good as Android could be at the moment. This makes having to put up with the unnecessary ‘embellishments’ and changes on the One X is frustrating. HTC’s launcher is also considerably laggier than the stock Android 4.0 launcher, and whilst installing Nova launcher helps, I’m not sure why HTC felt the need to use their own anyway.
I must say I totally agree with The Verge’s conclusion on the One X – with stock ICS, it could be the best Android phone ever. Until then… Im just not sure which phone to keep!

I'm in the same position, I'm really not sure which one to keep either - I suspect I will still be saying the same in two months time though!
HTC should have gone out on a limb and developed a dual boot - let the users decide whether they want to run sense or stock.

Yeah I've had the phone nearly a month and still can't decide! Argh
Someone's developing a CM9 port over at Modaco and it's getting close to finished (just a few bugs left to squash). So if it's good enough, I might just install it and sell the Nexus.

any other comments? battery, camera, screen etc? usability?
I've only used an older version for a few minutes, but on the surface everything works fine. It's mostly just odd bugs they're sorting out now. I'd link the thread, but things are a bit iffy between XDA and the developer at Modaco.
Either way, back on my GNex now and it feels like an old friend. Love this phone.
Hi Folks. My first post on here but have been messing with Android since G1 and was with my trusted Galaxy Nexus until last week I bought the HTC One X.
I must admit that S-On is a pain and i have found it more difficult to flash ROMS to the device after Unlocking Boot-loader on HTCDEV and rooting the Device.
Does any one know of any way to remove S-Off at the minute or is this unlikely in the next couple of weeks?
I tried a few ROMS including CM9 and Paranoid Android without success but have to applaud the Slim ICS Rom for the pure delight in ease of Install and it runs beautifully as it did on my Galaxy Nexus. Is there something about Slim ICS that makes it more simply to port to than others on the market at the minute or is it just my device.
BTW I ensure I went down the Fastboot avenue with Cache and Dalvik clearing etc to try and prevent a Boot-loop scenario but only ICS worked for me.
Anyone out there wishing to try a fast light and very simple ROM to port to then I highly recommend this avenue to explore. :victory:
no, sorry there is no way to s-off a htc one x tegra 3 version.
Did you flash the boot.IMG of each ROM and then erase cache in fastboot? Might be the reason.for other roms not booting.

ICSlim was actually ported by the actual developer of ICslim
Hey, since you came from the Gnex can you please tell me if the battery life is actually better or worse than your previous phone? I am using Gnexus right now but I want to buy a new phone and can't really decide between SGS3 and HOX. Although HOX is a clear winner here I am very concerned about the battery life since it is one of the most important things when it comes to phones for me. Thanks for your reply.

Thanks. Well 3-5 hours of screen on time is definitely an improvement for me,since my current Nexus can barely stand 1,5 hours of browsing. I just got an oportunity to buy a grey one although I wanted the white one. Hope that I won't be disapointed in the terms of looks.

This handset is way better for heavy use than my G nex was and I find it to be of a much higher quality than the Samsung unit. I found that after a fast boot cache clear then the One X runs other roms without issue. Currently trying out Cyanogen Mod 9 and it too runs smoothly on this handset. Must say that this is probably the best handset I have enjoyed since the Nexus One and I recommend t to all of you considering a move in handset.

Hello to all HTC One X user!
I have recently got myself a HOX as well, and this is my first android phone coming from Iphone and WM.
I am currently searching through the forum for a stable Sense-less ROM. I notice a couple which are pretty close to perfect, but as I need this phone for my daily task, I want to have a ROM with minimum critical issue.
i have come accross Paranoid Android ICS RC3 and CyanogenMod 9 - Endeavor Unleashed | 021 | R2, which seems to be pretty close to what I need.
May i please ask if any of you are currently running a sense-less rom which does not have any critical issue?
If you guys are interested, here is a little bit of background on why I am in persuit of a senseless ROM.
When I first got the HOX, i notice the push email did not work well. I rely on push email alot, and coming from an iphone, emails get pushed to my iphone within seconds of receiving consisntantly without fail.
However on the HOX it comes it randomly. The time it takes the email to get pushed to my HOX ranges from 5seconds to 1hour++. This is rather unacceptable.
I am not sure if anyone here has the same issue, but after hours of research, and also flashing to other reknown custom roms like Revolution (which is fantastic BTW), the issue still persist.
I believe that this could be due to the Sense framework that is causing this issue ( I might be wrong). But I am keen on trying anything because at the moment my HOX is lying at home as I cant leave my iphone before this is fixed.
I have to say, this phone is amazing. I actually sold my brand new Galaxy S3 for this because the S3 screen (doesnt matter how amazing they say it is) its crap. The colour seems odd on the S3 which is likely because of the Amoled + pentile function.
Hope i can find a solution here.
Thanks!
Hey Guys
Just a quick one , a while back I tested a G3 for about a day ( Contract Phone) and had horrific UI Lag and App Lag on the simplest of things (coming from a HTC One M7) and performed the usual of ART, try to debloat, Transistions to 0.5 etc but that lag was still present and ruined the experience of the phone which I returned a few days later as that level of lag was experience breaking.
I have an opportunity to Upgrade as I never did and want to know if 5 Months on has the UI Lag/Redraws been resolved at all with Updates it has received in the meantime as it was an awesome phone apart from those Issues.

Yes, lag is a lot solved. Even after update, it happen some but tot that usually.
Lag is completely fixed at Lollypop version, but this one use little more battery.
When i got my phone, it took entire night to finish all updates, but after that, phone was completely different. You should update.
