Anyone else noticed that the widgetsoid lock-screen operation has stopped working?
It worked when I was using Android 4.0.2, and stopped working when I uploaded and installed 4.0.4 OTA.
The widgetsoid lock screen widget button used to lock the screen saving the need to press the physical power button.
But now the widgetsoid lock screen widget button momentarily blanks the screen, and then wakes the screen back up, at the unlock screen.
I tried reinstalling widgetsoid, but it did not fix it. Anyone know how to fix this?

4.0.4 made a change to that API and it hasn't been relayed to the dev community. They haven't found a way to fix it yet.

Thanks for the info. I almost made a thread about it after flashing b31 of AOKP. Didn't find this through search at first...
haha so it's the ICS version.. I thought the room is bad and because of that it's not working.. good to know that this is a ICS version issue and not a specific room issue.
Thank You!
i almost changed ROM becuse that

I almost freaked out for having to press the physical lock button so many times.
It's a bug introduced with Android 4.0.4 .
Maybe you are interested in checking out my app:

I use a little workaround for this.
Widgetsoid screen lock is fixed, and now locks the Gnex running stock jellybean.
My power button should last longer now.

Unless you root it and flash a ROM that's not Sense-based, no, you can't. You know what else is annoying? People hitting the home button for no discernible reason when they're already on the middle home screen.

Finding a few bugs in the verizon version, I'm guessing the GMS version should be seeing the same issues.
I've replaced ICS Home Screen with ADW, now the 3 little dots menu shows up on the lock screen and I can click it and exit the lock screen without sliding to unlock. Also I can pull down the notification menu while locked and using ADW. (feature not an issue)
I'm guessing its a bug when the home screen doesn't support 4.0?
Also, if I leave the camera running and hit power to shut off the phones screen I have a 1 in 20 shot of locking up the camera app and making the camera in accessible without a reboot.
Anyone else have some good ICS issues?
One of your bugs is a documented ICS feature:
notifications available on lockscreen.
the 3 dots on lockscreen is an ADW issue.
notification pull-down on lockscreen is a stock ICS feature.

I never noticed using the ICS home screen. Thank you for the clarification!

Yes/No.. Though the issue is related to ADW, I believe its more an issue of non-4.0 home screen running and ICS allowing that to bleed through the lock screen. On the plus side, if you use PIN or some other secured method, hitting the dots doesn't close the lock screen. Still a bug in my opinion that it bleeds through.

That's my point. If ADW was properly setup for 4.0 then the menu soft button wouldn't be there on the lockscreen.
After installing Kit Kat, when pressing the home button while on the home screen if not on the default home screen it no longer goes to the default home screen. It just doesn't do anything. Does this happen to anyone else?

Where did you download your copy?
I got mine from the mega mirror, I'm wondering if that could be the issue as no one else seems to be reporting experiencing the same issue as us
Same on my device, but it is no problem for me actually. I have downloaded mine from the Google Drive mirror

I downloaded from mega earlier today. I installed Kitkat and am having the same Issue with the home button. I have to use the little home icon to get to the default home screen. I did a full wipe before installing with Odin. If some people are not having this issue, I wonder what's causing it for the rest of us. Otherwise, I'm liking it.

I have the home button issue too, but the little home softkey works fine....I just have to remember it's there.
It's a TouchWiz issue BTW. I'm using nova launcher and there is no issue with the home button at all. Works just as expected.
Same issue here. Mine was from the Google drive mirror. Not too troublesome for me though. I'll be refreshing when a north American version pops up anyway.

Ah, that's cool. I've just been using TouchWiz since I did all my playing around with it yesterday, and haven't actually used Nova yet (which is my go-to launcher on everything). I'm trying to be good and check out the Samsung stuff for a change. The little home soft-key doesn't really bother me though....it's not like I have to reach much farther. LOL

Hi there,
I'm using a Lock Screen app for ages now.
it's an app that turns off the screen without having to press the physical power button.
This one, for example: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=wq.lockscreen
The issue started since installing the lock screen app and now I can't unlock the phone using my finger print, but only using the pattern. I tried several apps now and none of them worked for me. Only when I uninstall the app the finger print function works flawlessly..
Does anyone here came across this king of issue and found a solution ?
Thanks, guys !

There is a setting for "Smart lock and Nexus imprint" Says Experimental. Works every time for me.
It's a mm issue, not your hardware or software.
The confirmed workaround is use root and nova prime gesture to lock ie double tap/swipe down or up etc. Nova launcher prime is on a sale now too, double goodness

I'm using Nova for along time now, i know there's an option to add a gesture in order to lock the screen, but it doesn't work like any other app i've tried. I don't have root yet on my device, but Nova hasn't asked me for root either.

I'm not sure how it works without root. Give it a try though. It works the same as other lock apps except you're using nova gestures in the home screen.
That's the problem here, all other lock apps can't make it work.
Iv'e tried with Nova now, same issue :\

Any app that offers a real screen off without lock function (which wouldn't interfere with Imprint) needs root to do so.
Nearly all of the apps that provide a screen off function without root use the same API method which by design or oversight on the part of Google overrides both Nexus Imprint unlocking and Smart Lock settings on 5.x devices.
There is a Google Issue tracker thread here - star if this design decision/oversight irritates you - https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=191955
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.iglint.android.screenlockpro has a working method but it is really just smoke and mirrors, not a true screen off action.
All it does is temporarily reduce the screen timeout to a minimum value (10 seconds) and sets a black screen overlay until the screen has naturally turned off. It works fine unless you invoke the shortcut and decide within 10 seconds that actually you wanted your screen on.
Nova can't do it with it's standard method either.

If you already use an automation app like Tasker or MacroDroid along with Secure Settings (I prefer MacroDroid) it's pretty easy to emulate the https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.iglint.android.screenlockpro workaround and add some extra functionality to cancel the delayed real screen off if you decide you want to interact with the device in the few seconds after activating
Basically the steps are:
Use Secure Settings to set screen timeout to 1 millisecond (this actually results in a 7 second screen time out)
Set brightness to minimum
Set a 100% screen dim
Set Immersive Mode (MacroDroid doesn't support this natively dunno about Tasker - but there are apps that support this via intent so doable).
Reverse the above when the Screen off system broadcast is received and on whatever trigger event you like - I've got a proximity sensor wave to wake set up anyway via MacroDroid so just use that.
As you know, mi5s has the "Lock" quick toggle. I am trying to find it in the Gestures>Activity>Settings in Nova Launcher but with no results, can someone help me out? Cheers
Gestures > home button > lock screen. Hope it helps, it works for me
Of course you have to use home button then, but it's even better when you get used to it...

Yeah, I have it set up like that since day one, but I wonder if it's conflicting with MIUI like with LG software where you couldn't unlock with your fingerprint if you used this method. Xiaomi seems to work fine, but I'm still paranoid and would like to use the official lock task.
I am paranoid too... Never noticed a problem ?
