Xperia S apk's ? - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

What Xperia S apps work on stock Rom ?
And where can I get them ?
Ideally lookin for phone APk and messaging APk
Sent from my LT18i using xda premium

The first .rar file contains all the necessary .apk files for the phone.apk and the second is the messaging apk. Both files worked perfectly for me. I hope everything works fine. Make sure you keep backup of the previously working .apks before overwriting any of them.
I hope it helped.

You could try picking the apk from this modded rom by hand http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1565990, for me almost everything works: TV launcher, conversation, home, mms, widgets, music app, etc.

Can be closed got the apks I needed
Thanks

So that is the Xperia S ROM for Arc thread. I wanted to try that since its a fact Gingerbread works better on Arc than ICS. And there is no latest official Gingerbread than the one that is launched with Xperia S.

The s rom in arc thread is very good

[App] Music App Android 4.0 Icecreamsandwitch

There ladys and gents:
First ICS App on Galaxy s. You can find apk and screenshots
Youre late, this app had been leaked a week or two ago. Thanks for sharing anyway.

sorry for off topic...
is there any chance that will be ice cream sandwich for galaxy S?
Is this a /system/app application?
Is it simply installable or do I need to copy it to /system/app?
Hi,
thanks for dl, but i can't download it. Every time i try it it says my Device is not supported.
It's nice, but not controllable on the loockscreen.
Simply install it via ADB. Worked fine for me.
Actually it is controllable via Lockscreen if you are running CM7
I'm using cyanogen 7, it works for me too, and can control from the lockscreen.

[Q] Stock ICS Email app on GS-II

I would LOVE to be able to install the stock ICS email app on my GSII running ICS. I've used it on my Motorola Xoom, which runs essentially unaltered ICS. Is there any way to do this that does NOT require rooting and/or removing the Samsung app? I've already had one bad experience going down that road, unfortunately :-(
Thanks in advance, and apologies if this is a repeat.
this will help just a little...
i used an apk from either an amaze rom or one of the cm9 roms from sgs2 tmo.
cant remember,but one did work.
i do have an apk of the stock aosp mms that works (thinking i pulled it off the same rom it is dark themed).
if you find it let me know.
the one that worked installs without pushing into sys/apps,or overwriting tw stock email.
side note...
apollo player works (very cool)
desk clock works
video editor
torch
gallery 2
all work on unrooted.

Cool - I'll check it out! What tool can I use to separate APKs from ROMs?
root explorer.just extract all,go to extracted

Looks like Root Explorer works when you've flashed your phone, which is what I'd like to avoid - is there a tool that lets you browse/extract the ROM on your desktop?
you can extract it without root.here ill post the apks i pulled.give me little while.

Xperia Play app no games

When i slide my phone, the Xperia Play app opens automatically but it doesn't show some of the games i have on my phone. I installed the Xperia Play app manually because i am running NXT Lite ROM and it deleted most of the stuff such as pre installed games.

Well I'm on NXT lite and installed xperia play from the market and it works fine for me so why are you so patronising towards OP?
All my optimised games show up fine so not sure if it's Rom related I'm afraid

You can always try this. So if your game it's not Xperia PLAY optimized, you can always optimize it yourself.

[Q] R800 ROM with no phone functionality

I have my old R800x that I would like to flash a rom to with no phone function, only wifi and bluetooth. I have tried repeatedly to delete item from the system/apps folder but I am obviously not doing something right as the phone will bootloop or have tons of FCs.
Does anyone know of a ROM I can use that does not have any of these functions but retains the Sony Framework for Xperia PLAY launcher, touchapds etc? O know there are at least one ROM with no phone function but its based off of CM, which is not what I am looking for.
Or if no ROM exists can someoen tell me what files to delete so that I wont get FCs and have a working ROM with no phone fucntion but bluetooth and wifi. Thank you

I completely forgot about that one. The only issue I can see off hand is that there wont be a homescreen on the CDMA PLAY if I flash it. Ill give this a whirl. Then if need be ill follow the above steps. Thank you.

You can use xdarkmarios patch to get it to show the Homescreen after flashing the Rom. It works I've tested it on mine

Dowbloading now. Will test on my ion running 6.1.E.3.7 firmware.
Edit:
Downloaded. Weatherwidget says it doesn't fit on screen( even though there is enough space on homescreen), same for picture widget. Walkman, album, movies seem ok. When adding widgets i get a few force closes.
