Having used my one x for a couple of days the battery life hasn't been brilliant although to be fair I can't put this excellent phone down. Then yesterday I went to settings, development settings and turned the back ground processes to maximum of 4 processes running in the back ground at once which improved the battery life really well, the only problem is it reverts back to normal the following day. Is there any way of keeping the settings picked?
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
Just realised changing the running processes in the development section only reverts back to normal when the phone reboots, so just need to remember to change them on reboot.

if you have root supercharger does the same mission, except you can control it as you want and make it stick
Today will be my first true test at work. Off the charger at 4:00am. Let's see how this bad boy handles my day.....

I had just under 19hrs off charger and was at 16% with 1.5 hours talk, 2 hours Google Music, 45 mins GPS, 250 text, 50 emails and heavy G+ usage. Not bad for an unrooted and stock powerhouse.
I just ordered my One X now, how long should I charge it when I get it first?
My battery stats on day 4. Starting to feel like it should get me through a day and better then my old faithful desire.

Little by little its starting to get much better with a full days use. I noticed improvements each day, has anyone else? each day it seems to be much better.
Ok, long day for me. Unplugged at 4:00am. 17 hours unplugged and I'm at 30%.
Impressive. But I used my phone only 65% as much for phone calls as normal.
Voice calls 40%
Screen 36%
Cell standby 7%
Idle 6%
Mail 4%
OS 3%
WIFI 2%
System 2%
Overall, not bad. I'm pretty happy. I certainly can't complain. I'm pushing 3 email accounts too.

I just did 16 minutes of web browsing over 3G/HSPA. After that the battery was down to 90%. Of course it may not really have been at a 100% (although it said that) when I unplugged it but still.....2.5 hours of browsing is not a lot ;-)
But it does go VERY easy on the battery with push mail....much unlike the SGS2 I have!
network and browser draining is major flaw in our current .26
we are in need of THE ONE update...
Been using HOX for 8 days now. I have to say battery gets better everyday.
I'm a heavy user I get 7 hours with my inspire 4g, does any one of you had the desire his or inspire 4g before the one x? How does it compare, I'm traumatized, with 3 hours of screentime my inspire 4g dies
If I get 3/3.5/4 hours of screentime and 12 hours of total use with the one x I'll be pleased

Okay so I presume all of you one X power users have noticed a the horrible battery performance. I only got my one x yesterday and I'm already frustrated with the fact that i yet again have to carry my charger around with me. Is there a fix? I have root and custom recovery. So if there is a fix for this please someone let me know.m
Since I flashed the Revolution HD I got excellent battery performance. Without doing too much stuff (just calling and texting), battery remains > 50% at the end of the day. I would really recommend that rom.
I've just flashed it, going to see how it goes. But I would've expected HTC to bang a beast of a battery for the beast of a processor and massive screen its gotta run. Oh well, still early days, hopefully we'll see massive software improvements.

Not really, no. Personally I did not unlock device, neither root it, neither installed any fix. And I must say that I'm more happy with battery life than I was with my previous phone SGS2. More then 16 hours here with 4 accounts synchronization on, 3g/wifi on, and sometimes gps + music on (for Endomondo). I'm really happy with my One X.
ARHD Rom, auto-brightness, plain wallpaper, no haptic feedback, no roaming, managing syncing, and a few other tweaks will leave this devices battery life as one of the best.

I try to use as much as I can the first few days, and time it so that you have about 10-30% charge left when you reach home from work/school and then I let it charge overnight.
I know quite a lot of time was spent idle, but 60% after 7 and a half hours isn't too bad http://twitter.com/Dev_Meltus/status/194082996767309825/photo/1/large

Have been seriously contemplating getting the One X.
My first choice had been the Galaxy S3..... but the One X seems the better choice.... I have had the iPhone 4 for almost 2 years, so now it's almost upgrade time If the Galaxy S3 had no physical home button I would be taking it.
Had been worried about the battery life of the one x but after reading these and a few others it seems worth it and it's available in black (dark grey but darker than S3 metallic blue)
I Just hope I don't have issues with app incompatibility for the apps I use on iPhone.
With normal usgae, I've got more than 10 hours after one charge. Not so happy with it but it's good enough for me.

have you got yourself the One X? if so, how is it compared with your previous phone?
i also want to swap my iphone 4 with One X and looking for different experiences especially with the battery life
I've turned everything off and left my phone on idle, my battery issue has persisted for over 6 months now (I bought it in Singapore on release day). With screen on min brightness, static wallpaper, most apps off, my battery drains fully within 6 hours. If I actually do anything with it like make phonecalls, it drains in hours. The battery phone is constantly hot, when on charge It's almost too hot to hold. If while on charge (AC) I use it to make a call, it complains that it's not receiving enough power. Should I look to get a replacement from HTC? I'm still using stock rom so it should be covered under warranty?
Sounds like the htc amaze battery overheat..
Also get gsam battery app.. it will tell you what apps are using what % of battery.
I also use advanced task manager from play store.. it proved to me how much gmaps Facebook and other bloat was ALWAYS RUNNING!.. I got root and froze it all with big improvements
Some of us who htc amaze w no warranty bought a new battery and that fixed it
e-Sex.. All of the carpral none of the tunnel

Aside from your time travel/exaggeration, I suggest better battery stats, finding out what is causing wake lock, and killing.it.
Your phone is fine, but you have some crapware on it.
I know there are loads of threads about the HTC ONE X battery but I really could not find a proper answer to my question so im starting a new thread. So I have had my 1X since last thursday, just over a week now and the battery life has been utterly horrible. But the worst thing is that the battery life is getting drastically shorter and shorter every day. Now its unbearable I cant even use the phone. I wonder if it might be because I did not do any 'first time battery charge'?. I just booted the phone instantly instead because honestly I did not know that you had to charge the battery before booting the phone the first time. The first time I started the phone it had just over 40% of battery and I used it until the phone shut off and charged it 100% after that while it was updating to the newest software. Is this perhaps the reason why the battery life is so god damn horrible and even worse than other 1X's?. When I charge the phone 100% it drains 1% of battery or more every minute now just when browsing the menu or the web or just doing nothing but putting the screen on. The screen brightness setting is on automatic and I have tried all kinds of battery savers and now im using juice defender ultimate still the battery life is horrible. I kill and close apps all the time and have nothing running in the background when not using it and I always turn off wifi when not using and I turn off auto sync and all the other battery eating tasks and stuff. Still I cant use the phone. When its 100% charged at about 8:00 in the morning the battery is done for at around 10:30 with moderate use. I cant get more than about 3 hours of on screen time before the battery is finished so basically what should I do? Is this normal?

And if you'd have read the other threads that you said don't apply to you you'd realize that because your phone is still new battery life will improve with more charging cycles. If you expect more than 3 hours on the low-end or five on the absolute high-end of screen on time the One X isn't for you. Because of the non-replaceable battery (which shouldn't be a surprise) a lot of us have auxiliary battery chargers for getting through the day when the phone can't be topped up on AC power. Speaking for myself, the design of the phone is what attracted me to it and the non-replaceable battery is a trade-off I accepted. That might not be a trade-off everyone’s willing to accept and the One X isn't going to win any battery life awards.
Autobrightness seemed to cause my battery to drain. Turned it off and its much better (or seems that way for now)

Charging your battery when you first get it does absolutely nothing. Wiping battery stats and callibrating also do absolutely nothing.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
Upload few screens of your battery usage so we can see what is causing such drain. I can tell you already now the screen is the main battery drain. A phone can barely survive 4 hours of heavy usage, especially not on automatic brightness.

Yeah ill do that, how do I take a screen shot? Powerbutton + homebutton thing doesn't seem to work for me :S. Today for example iv'e charged the phone 3 times and after the 2nd charge I used to phone for 5 hours and 25m until only a few % of the battery was left. I had juice defender ultimate up and running most of the time and screen time was at around a bit over 2 and a half hours. All I did was some web browsing and mostly menu browsing and setting browsing on the phone and some xda developer browsing with the app. No gaming whatsoever. Really horrible battery... such a pity considering how much I love the phone otherwise. Its no problem when im at home connecting it to the computer with the usb cable all the time but when im actually using the phone outdoors its frustrating as sh*t.
It doesn't really matter what you are doing, you will only get around three hours of screen on time.

Sounds like a lemon, have it replaced asap. HOX is the only android device I had that gets me through the day w/o charging doing basic stuffs (data always on etc) like what normal people do. I've had sleepless nights last month because my 2-week old GN got pick pocketed battery life for GN in my case was horrible (5 hours).
how do you know if your battery is defective? i'm getting around the same battery life myself :/
This is why unreplaceble batteries suck. I wish I'd bought the s3 instead still though I love the HOX only if the battery was a bit better ffs. Im getting a little bit better battery today but with loads of tweaks, still some 'untweaked' hoxes get better battery lives, still though it seems like there are loads of one x's that have the same issue as I do. Does this mean all one x are different or what?

Hi,i see the topic of the battery stats, but this is a little different:how much is your average battery life?I don't want to know what's that consume a lot of battery. what that is real important is the daily use.
For this I made this poll
I hope that this will be usefull for all
I can miss a night's charge and still have some juice left, with an average of around 1-1,5 hours of screen on time
I'm quite happy with mine to be honest, contrary to people having problems I haven't had one. Battery is currently running at about 4 and a half hours. I do have a lot of the bloat ware turned off though, and I don't mind minimum or auto brightness. But I do spam the browsers and plume and tasking widgets though. I prolly get around 24 hours of battery too. Have gone longer but average around 15 hours before I stick the charger in. Still have around 30 battery when I do though as I very rarely get down to 20%.
Sorry for the ramble, but I really am quite happy with me little phone

@Op, what do you mean with battery live?
How much it will last in years or about the duration in hours?
I think I get great battery life with my HOX (latest firmware). I'm usually at 40% around 17hrs or so regular use. Heavy use I get about 9hrs. I also have an HTC Inspire and that thing died way faster.

Normal days without gaming gets me 17+ hrs
Even streaming all day via data connection gets me more than 8 hours.

Normal usage, few calls, bit of browsing, bit of gameplay etc should get you through your working day quite easily.

Dude, I totally see this happening on mine... I had mine since launch the N7100 version. Today I was just monitoring the battery, taken 2 calls and one of them was a voip. No data, all wifi but my battery draining stats are very similar to yours...
Started to get paranoid...
Current stats at 2h 53 on battery 93% screen on 25% 27m55s
Yeah the battery is awesome! I'm shocked every time I look in the corner and the battery always seems to be a solid block of green!
I've had the Gnex, One X, LG 4X HD and S3 and the battery on this is probably twice as good as the best of them which was the S3
