Need help with Bluetooth - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I would be very grateful for a little help
Have looked everywhere but cannot find the answer
R800i
Stock .62 firmware
Doomkernel v11
-36 baseband
My bluetooth headset MW600 has stopped working with my phone.
I installed ICS and it worked fine pairing and funtioning immediately, but on the .62 firmware nothing. I am sure it is a software problem, but not sure what has caused it as it used to work fine. Unfortunately I am in the habit of tinkering with my phone on a daily basis and somewhere along the line the BT has stopped working the way that it should. Please help out a cantankerous old man

Have you tried re-pairing your device? Does it work with anything else?

Bluetooth problem - need help

Bluetooth problem - need help
Here is my situation. I have a EVO 4G Rooted with rooted 3.29.651.5.
My phone's bluetooth paired perfectly with my car for several months.
Then I installed Vlingo and my bluetooth stopped working with my car. I uninstalled Vlingo and the bluetooth worked only sporadically. Since then I have tried almost everything I can and have searched for weeks to get this to work.
I have tried:
* complete wipe and reinstall of ota rooted rom
* reinstalled Vlingo tested, then unistalled again
* deleted and then restored backups of BrcmBlueToothServices 1.0 and Bluetooth Share 2.2
* deleted BrcmBlueToothServices 1.0 and Bluetooth Share 2.2 then flashed rooted ota rom to get clean copies back again (I hope)
* Unpaired my Evo from my car then paired them again.
* Upgraded to rooted 3.30.651.2n.
* Flashed a new King's Kernel #11 (2.6.32.24-king-hav-OcUv)
I know it is not my car as my wife as the same phone I have. I rooted it and except for the recent kernel change on my phone the only real difference is that I never put Vlingo on her phone. I can pair her phone perfectly with my car and it works great just like mine did before Vlingo.
I'm not an expert, my learning curve was huge to get to root and I have done a lot of reading to try to figure this out.
ANY help would be appreciated! I need my phone to work with my car as I'm on the phone a lot.
The kernels will break bluetooth on the CM builds.
The CM framework has been redone and there are few compatable kernels. Yes kings kernel will work, but not everything. Currently, there is no custom kernel (beside the stock CM kernel in each build) that will work and keep bluetooth working on CM roms

Thanks You very much for your response. Since my technical level is a little limited let me see if I understand. You are saying that my rooted stock ROM is a Cyanogen Mod Build. That ROMS made using this with stock kernels should work with Bluetooth, but if you use a custom kernel there could be a problem.
If this a correct understanding, the only problem is that I was using the stock kernel that came with the ROM and it was working fine for weeks. Then I installed Vlingo and the problem arose. I then unistalled Vlingo and the problem still persisted. Days later I then switched kernels in an attempt to fix the problem. I have the same problem regardless of which kernel I use.
Do you have a suggestion for a solution? Again, thank you.

i have the same problem did everything mentioned above, rooted my wife evo and mine my Bluetooth doesn't work on mine hers does, maybe the devs could make a backup flashable zip for Bluetooth and htc syn that would be great
Using rooted file manager, I can get to the bluetooth.apk and BrcmBluetoothServices.apk files. When I click on either one of them I get a message that asks:
"Replace Application
This is a system application. Do you still want to replace it?
All previous user data will be saved."
Question, If I say "OK" what does it replace with? Maybe replacing these two files will change things for me so I can get my BLuetooth function back again.
Any comments?
Nothing I have done has gotten my bluetooth function back again. I'm desperate. Anyone have any ideas. What is frustrating is that my wife's Evo will work just fine in my car, but mine has not ever since I tried Vlingo.
There must be a way to reinstall bluetooth without having to do a factory reset and start all over again. (And I'm not sure that would do it anyway.)
Anyone with suggestions?
Update: I just flashed the updated stock ROM (New_RUU_Supersonic_3.30.651.3_Deodexed_signed - http://www.4shared.com/file/yLaxLUnJ...RUU_Super.html) from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=836728.
"So Far - So Good" as my bluetooth suddenly worked again. I have flashed the previous stock 3.30.651.2 ROM and nothing changed. This also comes with a updates stock kernel. So who knows, may be this update fixed the problem. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
BTW, I forgot to wipe anything when I did this update. All good so far.
Later: It works better but not consistent. I still have problems where after a phone call I have to turn the bluetooth off, then on again to make or receive additional phone calls.
I think i fixed my bluetooth !!!!!!
I THINK I FIXED IT !!!!!!
Wow after over 2 months of searching, learning, and trying everything I could think of (other than unrooting and going stock) I stumbled upon what seems to be a solution.
Here is what I did:
Using ASTRO file manager I opened up the "system" folder then opened the "app" folder. From there I scrolled down to the "BrcmBluetoothServices" file and long clicked it until the "File Options" appeared. Then I selected "Edit" and on the next pop-up I selected "Delete". (I was desperate and was going to delete it and reinstall from scratch).
When I selected Delete, a confirmation box appeared that said something that caught my eye like, "Are you sure you want to delete the update as this will return the file to stock?" (or something like that). WOW, when I heard delete the update I figured that Vlingo may have updated this file causing the problems. So I said yes. The update was deleted.
The BrcmBluetoothServices file remained but evidently it reverted to its original stock format. I noticed that my Evo no longer showed a pairing with my car. So I went to my car and deleted that pairing as well and then re-paired my car and phone.
Success! I have been using it for a day and so far so good. My Evo instantly connects with my car when I turn the car on, and I can make and receive phone calls normally. It has only been one day, but it looks good so far!!!
This did fix the problem. Working now for 2 weeks.

NFC problem

I Have Sony Xperia s , rooted , unlocked boot loader , running stock based ROM , NFC works great with NFC tags , but when i want to share a photo with any NFC device , they will say NFC service forced closed , and it doesn't work , how to repair it
I think my problem is serious. When I got the phone 2 months ago, I've flashed .45 stock FW and everything worked fine. Last week I needed to use the NFC but it wouldn't turn. For a second the box is ticked and then goes back off. Now, I've tried SEUS, nothing. Flashed with Fashtool same .45, still nothing. Could this be a hardware problem?

The latest fw is .55 not .45. I think that's the problem.

I know .55 is the latest, but when I flashed .45, everything worked fine. Why doesn't work now?
.55 was dedicated to NFC corrections, especially introduced paying via NFC (that's what one of polish operator said introducing .55). However if you hadn't opened your phone (I mean you didn't try to get battery) you shouldn't damage it..
Tap Tap Tapatalk - Sony Xperia S
The thing is I did get the battery out. The OS got jammed and I had to remove it. Still, I have replaced the NFC specific file in the system folder. What else to do?

[Q] Bluetooth wont stay on - cycles on/off

As title states, my bluetooth wont stay on. It just cycles through on then soon as its on it immediately turns off.
I am running NXT LE currently lupus v8. It did this on Doomkernel too.
Any ideas how to fix? I have flashed back to an older nandroid and it worked for about 25 minutes then did it again.
Thoughts? Thank you in advance.
I forgot to add, I have also wiped cache and dalvik cache. Doubt it would do any good. I even cleared data on Bluetooth share. Same thing.

Anyone, have any ideas? I am at a loss why this is happening.
Strange problem. Did you try using a ROM version other than Ginger Bread? You should try either the ICS or Jelly Bean Rom to see if the problem still occurs.
It may be a driver issue...although flashing other GB ROMs should have removed the issue if it was software related :\.
Just to be sure you'd need to try either ICS or JB because those ROMs should contain newly optimized drivers and libraries for the wireless chip.
If the problem still occurs then...it'd mostly likely be a hardware issue. In which case you could try removing all the Bluetooth drivers to shut it down.
I have tried several roms. All work fine. Is it possible someone can tell me which files are for the Bluetooth, ie drivers/modules etc
I know there is the Bluetooth.apk. but I am sure there is more to it then just that file.

Okay, so I have tried three different ROMs. Bluetooth works in all. Even reflashing NXT LE it works. So somehow somewhere my my bluetooth drivers or controlling files have been damaged. Would anyone happen to know what files control the bluetooth (not bluetooth.apk but like actual libs files etc.) and be willing to copy and make them as a zip and send a download link here or to PM me?
I really do not want to have to start from scratch on my ROM.... even with Titanium Backup it will take me all morning. And I am hoping that just repalcing all the files with good ones will fix the issue.
Thank you in advance.

[Q] GPS Not working

Hi All,
i sometimes use a GPS tracking app for when im out on my bike to track miles and stuff, last week for some reason it didnt work, then when i tried to use navigation a message across the bottom said something like SEARCHING FOR GPS and never changes or locks onto my position.
i havent changed anything that i can remember only installed new apps,
my phone is rooted and ive tried several new roms but none of them solve the GPS problem i have, ive read up and tried several solutions using apps to reset GPS and a patch that changed the GPS.conf file but to no avail.
could it have anything to do with an outdated radio ?? the details of my phone are
Rom SVHD1.61
Android 4.0.4
Sense 4.1
Baseband 12.56.60.25U_26.10.04.03_M
i know the radio version is the last part of the baseband and there is a newer one listed in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=877295
the nearest to mine is dated 23rd June 2011 but the listed one has no letter U in the middle.
could someone please advise which radio will be safe to use as i dont want to brick my handset, and can i flash it using CWM as a zip like i do the roms or do i have to do it another way
thanks in advance

since posrting, ive tried several things to fix this, still with no success,
ive tried several different roms including a stock rom but none woked.
ive update the radio to a newer one and still nothing
i removed the flash cover ad tested with multimeter and it seems to be ok,
i attached a piece of wire to the contacts on the phone and managed to get GPS fix on 2 satelites so bought a new cover but no fix,
as mentioned above i soldered another piece of wire inside underneath the flash cover to the contacts but now i dont get any GPS, with the cover on or off, guess its broken.
can the GPS board be tested in anyway or replaced, ive searched google but cant seem to find anything so im guessing its part of the main board
im in the UK if anyone knows that i could get it fixed.
cheers

Bluetooth pairing issue

Hi all. I have trouble with BT pairing. I had to pair every bluetooth device again after reboot. Its weird, I dont know how it happened. Has anyone same issue? Iam on last stock with butterfly (I also tried other kernels).
Edit: It was very annoying. I had to install LOS and everythings working. Weird...
...gif
had the same and also other few issues with bluetooth and wifi. Went down to Oreo using the tutorial from this board. Now everything works as it should.
I do not know if customs Pie roms have it fixed, I just downgraded to stock Oreo as this is most stable and problems-free thing for this device.
