You should read the OP of CM9 thread.
It was clearly mentioned that Camera and youtube and video playback are not working...
No body can help you but be patient in future we might have all those working....
though not sure..

Wait for CM9
i think we wont get official update but i hope a dev port on our wfs
I hope that we'll have ICS with Sense 4.0 when the developers can try it
Sense 4.0 ?
AFAIK, 3.5 is the latest one.
Yes but with Android 4.0 (ICS) HTC phones will get Sense 4.0
alquez said:
The ICS can be compiled for armv5 processors and somehow boot on Wildfire S (pure theory, but I'm 60-70% positive it should work). But without working hardware drivers you can forget about hardware acceleration, various devices (camera, probably wifi bt radio)
In short - we need to wait for CM team to make ics compatible with other msm7227 devices

Ice Cream Sandwich
ICS Soon.
For official CM9 it will take a long time to come because CM7 has to come first and first of all the official update of 2.3.6 (not yet available in all countries.
By the way, Wildfire S is a arm6.5 device so CM9 will sure come out.

eeerr, we've already got a CM9. It's unofficial yes, but it's fully working for daily use. Only bugs are I think Panoramic mode on Camera, and FM Radio.

hi all
I bought this phone today.
I am searching cm7 for this phone
is there any version of cm7 for this phone?
sorry for bad english
First of all I think this is in the wrong section. Second, the phone was released with Ice Cream Sandwich so there are no Gingerbread roms as far as I know. However if you want Cyanogen you can always get CM9 (Ice Cream Sandwich) or CM10 (Jelly Bean).

No... no soft keys. Its a waste of time. Its out dated and not for this phone. Either flash cyanogenmod 9 or 10.

CM is on Android 4.1.x
Sony's official Firmware is still on ICS (4.0.x). Here's the problem:
You need proper camera drivers to get the 1080p. Sony is not providing them for jellybean right now. We'll have to wait till sony releases Jellybean for the XS, then port that camera driver to CM-Based Roms.
The drivers now used are just compatibiliy drivers
So: either you wait for JellyBean or you need to install a stock based rom (SSpeed for example). No Project Butter though

Hello,
since there is a leaked JB for SXS:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2154723
is there any way to extract the necessary files for camera work in other custom 4.1.2 roms?
ehhhm...
well, yeah. basically. try asking fxp 'bout that. im no dev, but afaik are drivers kernel related. they need to modify the kernel for that. it's not as easy as taking those files and pasting them somewhere else.
but i think that most of them are trying to get the gsm to work. maybe after that..
I do not feel such a lack of 1080p format. I miss most the 16:9 photo format, that's for sure.

Won't Jellybean ROM would be too much for specs of One V? I am just fed up with this phone being so slow and almost instantly starts lagging after a month's use. I need something lighter which will make sure this phone will run without noticeable lag.

Ok. Thanks mate. Sorry I am new to rooting and flashing ROM. When I try to search link for steps to install CM9 on HTC One V, I find too many results and can't decide which one is stable with minimum bugs. If you can PM me any link which I can follow to accomplish this, it would be great.
i still recommend CM10(jelly bean)
but still, heres the CM9 link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1757323

Exactly what I was looking for! Thanks! I will try this tonight and please bear with me if I have more questions.
Hey everyone, so I've had my Xperia Arc for nearly 2 years and it's the same android (2.3.4). It's recently started to lag like crazy and freeze a lot so I've been thinking about upgrading to a better rom. I've used the eroot method with one click to root it.I've got superuser access.
Will I able be able to upgrade straight to Xperia Ultimate HD?
I've been reading tutorials and youtubing for hours but it's still going over my head. Any simple written instructions or answers would help.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.

I've been reading the threads for a few hours now and honestly I'm getting really dizzy just reading and re-reading through it all lol. If you could just answer one or 2 questions it would be helpful.
If I were to install a rom would I need to flash a kernel? As I have already rooted my phone can I just use flashtool to flash lupus kernel?

Yes, kernel is a must. Without the kernel, your phone won't run properly.
As for the Lupus kernel, it is a custom kernel and so should be flashed via fastboot, if you have unlocked your bootloader beforehand.

Not all kernels need unlocked bootloader. You can still flash stock kernels via flashtool with locked bootloader. Only custom kernels like CM kernels need unlocked bootloader to flash.

No, since official update to ICS will cause you to lose root. You need to root again after updating.

Thank you for answering my questions, I really appreciate it. Just a final one, if I get cold feet about installing a custom rom is the offical ice cream sandwich decent enough or better than 2.3.4 ginger?
I just really want a better walkman/music player than the standard one.

Walkman was never officially included in 2011 Xperia devices. But I see more devs making ports for ICS. As for GB and ICS, they both have advantages and disadvantages. GB favors performance but lacks many features. ICS has more features but lags more than GB.

I see, thanks for that. My phone has recently started lag quite badly but that may be because i have 2500 songs on my sd card. Use it as a music player as much as a phone, which is a shame then that the music player (including apps on the market) are pretty crap.
