I just installed the sony ICS beta rom on my way to getting KA12's ICS rom on but now I cant get into fastboot mode to keep going.
I want to know if I'm doing it right or not.
I've tried holding search and powering on, holding back and powering on, holding search and plugging it in, and holding back and plugging it in. It just boots normally.
What am I doing wrong?
-----------------------
Nevermind. For some reason after I tried it 5 more times it finally worked while pressing search.
You can always use ADB, just tap in the command adb reboot bootloader.

Hello,
I just unlocked my bootloader and installed the new ARHD, not the EB-2, the 9.4.2. After the installtion i let the phone boot up and I installed some apps. After that I decided to install a mode called : "[MODE][AROMA] Beats Mode - Enhanced Beats sound V7 [9/9/12]".
I went through the aroma installer and my phone rebooted, but this time I only see the "HTC quietly brilliant"-screen and then get a black screen. But I can see that the display is on power and not off.
I cant accsess recovery by pressing the power button and volume down. The phone only boots up and get to the black screen.
Please guys help me
Hi friend, I had the same problem. I was told to hold the power button until the screen went dark black? I know sounds crazy but only sure way of device being completely off. Next whilst holding power hold volume down. Then let go of power. When the menu comes up select fastboot. Connect via USB and issue the clear cache command. Cant remember what it was exactly.... "fastboot clean cache" maybe. Then restart. All should be well. Check google for the command.

Thanks, now everything is okay. I'm reinstalling the whole rom, hopefully it will work
So i have a HTC desire, i have codefire X rom flashed on it and yesterday, it was low on battery and the phone died. so i charged it a little and then tried to turn it on and it does turn on except it is stuck on the boot screen so the codefire x screen is there and it has been doing it for while now. so i have taken the battery out and restarted it after putting it back in to no avail. same thing happens. and the thing is i cant reach recovery or boot loaded since my volume buttons do not work anymore. what can i do ?

You need to install the Android SDK. This will install a program called "adb".
Plugin the phone to your computer, then turn it on and from the command prompt issue the following command: "adb reboot recovery".
However, I don't know how you may navigate the menu in recovery since your volume buttons don't work. Did you try to press them with something pointed like a pen or a needle?
You can flash 4ext touch recovery so for navigation of menus will not require voice buttons

If you have not modified anything from the phone and u just updated from Sony then call Sony, it is under warranty and any issue with the Phone they will fix it or give you a new one.

Need some help please !
First of all I'm stuck in bootloop with my nexus 7 2013 (not unlocked). So I pluged my N7 in my computer (windows 7) to flash the Rom. I also have a problem with the driver when I connect my N7 to the computer and I get the message (MTP device failed ). So I've tried to install manually new drivers from Google but it says that my drivers are up to date ??? Now It seems that it's impossible to flash my N7 if my computer doesn't recognize my device.
What is the best thing to do now
thanks in advance

Well, it looks like you have a couple of things going on. I can't remember how I got windoze to recognize the n7, but it had something to do with deleting the driver then plugging the n7 back in and letting it install the driver again. I remember I had to play around with the thing for a little while. Trying to update the driver wouldn't work for me either. As, far as the bootloop, you could try this one click tool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2381582 Finally, you could try wugfresh's toolkit if you want to take the lazy route. It actually works pretty well. It might even help with that driver issue. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2389107 you don't use it to install a rom, but you do need to install a custom recovery and the toolkit could help with things like that. I personally use the toolkit to return a tablet or phone back to factory condition, lock the bootloader, etc...
You could also try to do a factory reset from the stock recovery. That fixed a boot loop for me after unlocking my bootloader.
Problem solved
I finally contacted Google Canada Monday morning and spoke with with a tech. Wow...very impressed by the service and my problems are now solved. First we went to Recovery mode ( Power and volume down) in that mode you then press again power and volume up and release at the same time. Then, from that menu you can now swipe all data and it solves the Bootloop problem. Finally I reinstalled all my app and back to normal. I pluged my N7 to my computer and now no more driver problem....
Thanks

That's what I was referring to in my post, sorry for not giving a more detailed explanation.
Glad to hear you that you had a good experience with Google support and that you solved your problem. :good:
Thanks for giving feedback and have lots of fun with your N7!
Hello!
I'm stuck in a loop boot too. I flashed without wiping... I try to boot in recovery mode but it's impossible. The combination vol up, down and power doesn't work. It tries to boot as usual so starts in a loop again.

Let me get this straight....are you trying to hold volume up & down at the same time? If so, you cannot please both volumes at the same time. Also, to boot into the bootloader (same as fastboot, not recovery) is power + volume down. The easiest way to do this is to hold volume down, then press and hold the power button. If the tab was on, and the screen goes black, let go of the power button, but keep holding the volume down button. It should boot into the bootloader soon enough.
1. Push volume up and power button for 5 seconds then release the power button.
2. Do a complete wipe of the system and reinstall the system.zip again and reboot.
If it doesnt load the recovery do this.:
1. Hold volume down and power button for 5 sec. Release the power button and volume once you enter the download screen.
2. Use odin in your Pc to install the rom you want or stock rom.
(3. If you installed stock rom go back to the steps I wrote at the top and flash a new rom)
Remember that you need to be rooted.
OK so I was trying with the wrong combination.
With both vol up/down + power worked.
I restored and it's up and running again.
Thanks!

Hello everyone! So I've had my phone (HTC One M8) rooted and custom recovery and rom installed for a little while now. The latest rom I've installed was Android Revolution HD 22.1. I also have twrp 2.8.1.0 installed. The other day my phone got wet and started to constantly reboot itself, wouldn't shut off and stay off, would never actually start. I put it in a cup of rice for 2 days, then proceeded to plug it in to charge it. Once charged enough I tried to turn it on. It only made it the HTC One logo screen and would vibrate every 10 seconds or so. I tried rebooting several times and no matter what I did with different button combinations I could not get it to load into bootloader. Eventually with restarting different ways and "mechanically stressing" the phone (short temper lol) I managed to get it to loading into the rom itself. From there I opened hasoons all in one toolkit to reboot directly into recovery and recovered to the stock rom. So the phone will now reboot with no problem into this rom. I haven't tried reflashing the ARHD 22.1 rom again because im afraid it'll break again. However, while in the stock rom everything work fines except for the volume up button which does nothing, except for while the screen is off, if I turn my phone to landscape the camera app will open without me even pressing the volume up button. If I reboot into bootloader via the quickboot app or hasoons toolkit, my volume down button with make the cursor go up, the volume up button does nothing, and the power button does nothing. The only thing I can do in bootloader is to hold power+volume up to get the phone to reboot. I also cannot get bootloader to load by holding volume down+power. So, After all that explaining, my main question would be, do you think that the buttons are shorting in a weird way because of water damage, or do you think my software got corrupted because of all the rebooting it did? Any help is appreciated, thanks!
-Tim
(PS: I posted this in XDA assist originally but figured it would be better being posted here.)
UPDATE: my power button will now lock my phone but not unlock it.
