ICS problem on One X - HTC One X

Hi All,
One X is my first machine running ICS 4.0, but when I install Apps I used before (in HD2), as there is no menu button, a 'menu bar' appear on the bottom of screen with 3 horizontal dots (see attachment for example), effectively reduce the height of screen for display (e.g. Dolphin HD, GO Launcher, etc)!
Is that we only can wait for developer to release App that is for ICS natively in order to eliminate this?
Thx!

Please if you would read a bit, you would have found it allready. It is probably not further than the second page.

'Back' behavior without the hardware key

Hello everyone,
I just bought my desire and the first "annoying" thing is that I can't go back without using the hardware button. It would be nice to go back using a gesture like a slide from left to right (similar to the home pages navigation).
Since the display is quite big, you need to do some 'trips' between the upper part of the display and the bottom where the button is located.
Is there any utility tool which can accomplish that?
I assume because it would be rather confusing. What happens in apps that use the swipe gesture? If "back" is hard coded into the swipe gesture for the entire OS then apps can't use it. In the photo gallery swipe is for moving from one photo to the next...but if I accidentally try to share a photo and want to get out of that dialogue then I don't want swipe to move to share the previous photo instead...I want it to get out altogether.
I agree..in some applications makes no sense. Anyway, I need to have at least a soft button to go back on the upper or bottom of the display. Another solution is to have the back behavior only on some portions the display.
There is another problem which bothers me . The fonts are not so smooth..it looks like no clear type is available. Every letter have some very small pink pixels on the left side.In fact this applies for every vertical line. Is this normal?
has anyone else this pink pixels?

That's a nice lock screen image.

Anybody notice that it's not quite as responsive as, say, TouchWiz?
Like there's a tiny delay when sliding screens..
How can I add an application into the home screen folder? I cannot seem to drag it directly into the folder.
Yeah I haven't really found a launcher that's as responsive as touchwiz... MAYBE launcher pro but I think touchwiz is the smoothest and most responsive. If only it had all those other features =\

Touch the app in the apps drawer, then drag it to the bottom of the page all the homes screens open, simply drop to required screen.
To change dock apps, touch and drag them off the dock drag new app on.
Apps in the dock, can have a second app added by long touching one and selecting change gesture, this enables your choice of app when you (not touch) slide your finger up the icon.

Open the apps drawer, touch the menu button, choose settings, choose scrolling orientation, choose horizontal loop..
Can Golauncher create shortcuts to specific Settings screens etc like LauncherPro+?

doesn't work. To clarify, the screen is already packed, with 16 folders. If I just drop the app onto the page, it says operation failed becoz the page is full. I need to drop the app into a specific folder but it doesn't allow me to.

That wouldnt work as that would only be for horizontal orientation, cylinder doesn't show when using vertical orientation

Move the folder to an empty screen, then drop the app where you want it and then put it into the folder you want. Yes?

Start home switcher, in the bottom left corner click 'clear default' it will take you to another screen, at the right hand side of the screen look for 'Clear defaults' click it.
Now when you press the home button you will get the choice, before selecting check the 'Set as default' box then select Go launcher EX.
Note; to return another launcher as default repeat above...
Enjoy

The Settings problem.

Dear friends,
for an unknown reason I cannot access my " Settings" whatever you call it from the below right hand corner of the screen as it used to be, it's no longer there. The only other option of getting the phone settings is from on top of the screen which I do not like. Thanks for your help.

In ICS Android no longer has the menu button. Instead, apps now use the action bar. Any overflow from said bar now displays as 3 dots, which include actions such as settings.
Apps that haven't been updated to the new API's will display the 3 dots next to the multi-task button.
However, some custom roms allow you to persistently add the menu button to the navigation bar.
So, the short answer to your question would be to flash a custom rom.
Better get used to hitting the 3 dots, as Google is intent on phasing out the menu button
If you install a custom rom you can add the menu as a soft key

Thanks but I have always had the Menu Bar since when I bought it and there is no software upgrade up till now.

[Q] vision ics rom. The ActionBar qs?

Why vision ics rom. The ActionBar menu option set to the value of the attribute android: showAsAction never when the menu is not hidden in the title of the right of the three small dots but when clicking the menu button to pop up from the bottom of the screen? Need to modify where to resume?Thank you. (English is poor, use google translation and understanding!)
How is this related to development?

I you have a modified version then maybe this is the right place... for questions go to Q/A or General/
Hi henjue , I support you !
I think this about getting the 3 dots menu button on the screen but without activating the soft buttons navigation bar on the bottom. I know it's possible because I saw it in the Optimus 2X ICS rom. Probably just a setting that needs to be changed.
FYI, this 3 dot menu button is disabled by default on phones that have a hardware menu button (like ours)
