Hi.
I would like to try the tablet UI on my nexus, what's the best way and most stable way of doing this please?

If you're at after home screen with tablet UI, try Apex launcher. Hope that helps

How do I get a tablet UI out of that but? Does it change it like changing the density does?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Try this: http://rootzwiki.com/topic/21353-mod-tablet-mode/
OK well I'm using the tablet UI for few day now and love it. But can't download half my stuff from the market, anyone know how I can get it? I did download a apk from internet and it worked so its just the market that won't let me.

I just use 160DPI, so most things that work on a tablet work (as 160 is standard DPI for tablets). I also found a phone.apk that works with 160DPI, I cannot find the thread anymore, but its out there (not in xda as i remember).

My problem is that the apps I download and use when its a standard android phone, I cannot download at all when its transformed into a tablet which I was hoping there was away around.

Try the market.apk shown here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1543892
I personally prefer this method, DPI set to 192 as well as the modded Nova Launcher, but thats just me.

That would be because you put your DPI to 192 to transform it into tablet..android market doesn't like 192 DPI.put it down to 160 and use a phone.apk that works with 160. Look at the instructions you followed to get tablet UI you HAD to have put DPI to 192.
Awesome working now, thanks. Now I can play reckless racing 2.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR KEYBOARD:
Because there are 2 different keyboards.. there are conflicting dictionaries and consequently the auto correct is ruined sorry if people dont like this i will remove it but to me its cool to have 2 keyboards to choose from
1. Go to Settings
2. Go to Language and Input
3. Go to Default and select the first android keyboard for standard look with green keys or select the second one for the glowing keyboard
4. Once that is done go to the settings in spelling correction located right above this... go into the settings and select the second android correction
5. This eliminates all of your words from being seen as mispelled by the conflicting dictionaries... it will show you which words are mispelled but will not auto correct them for you...
Have fun all screen shots are forthcoming

Maybe you have messed with your dpi. Set it back to standard, and you should be able to download it.

if im not mistaken most of the widgets from touchwiz require the dual modified framework-res.apks from touch wiz roms, Thus far no one has ported touchwiz to the gnex due to the proietary nature of touchwiz. So it is probably unlikely such a widget will become available for some time, some one correct me if im wrong.
you may want to look into widgets on the play store maybe youll find something to suit your needs there.
- cheers

Theoretically if you can just push the apk to system/app and it just works you should be able to just download a touchwiz rom and extract the apk from there I personally have no interest in touchwiz applications I went nexus to get away from it
I off course mean to grab a touchwiz rom from the s3 or note sections
- cheers

Honestly, I invested way too much time into customizing PA 2.54 (the last 4.1 Rom by PA) just how I want it and I haven't found a reason to change it. I just don't have the time anymore unfortunately to keep up with all the amazing and rapid development that xda chefs keep putting out
I did really miss photosphere though so I just wanted that.

Yeah it's not just the paprefs, it's everything else too. Just don't have the time to experiment too much anymore sadly. I'm happy with it till the new Nexus comes along
Nothin wrong with 4.2.1 IMO. I've actually thought about goin back because with it my Gnex got about twice the battery life than I'm getting with 4.2.2. I've tried almost every Rom and kernel too. Used to get about 7hrs screen time with my 3800mAh, now I get about 4 ever since 4.2.2. But I do like alot of the improvements tho so idk...Jus my opinion.
