Is there any way to sync gmail contacts with S8600 as it used to be in S8500?
You may use exchangesync with your gmail account and just enable contact
Does it do two way sync?

The Desire is my first Android phone, and never used google sync to synchronize the contacts. I have 2 questiones,
1. Is the google cantacts format as same as the outlook contacts?
2. If I sync the phone contacts with outlook then sync with google's, will generate the dual same contacts in the phone?

I ended up exporting my contacts from exchange as a .csv file then importing into my Gmail contacts so I could use the Hullomail voicemail app effectively.

I have been searching an answer for this but haven´t found anything. I would like to sync my Contacts, Calendar and Tasks betwen my phone, google account and exchange server.
For example, if i add a contact or event to my phone´s calendar/contacts i would like it to automaticly sync to my exchange server account and also my google account.
Is it possible ? If yes, how ?
I have both accounts on my phone but when i create an event i have to choose were to sync.
Also i would like that the contacts and events i currently have on my phone were synced to exchange.

I do not have Outlook on my pc,
is it possible to sync contacts with gmail without outlook, if not is there a relatively inexpensive method of purchasing Outlook ?

If you have a Gmail account and Android, you do not need Outlook at all.
Outlook can only sync with Gmail with Google Calendarsync AFAIK.
On your phone in Accounts and Synchronization, Add your gmail account and choose the items to sync.
- contacts
- gmail
- picasa
- calendar
What are you currently using on your pc as a contact manager application?
Backup your contacts to your SD card and then restore them but select your Gmail account to add them too. It will then sync the contacts to Gmail
Use MyPhoneExplorer which is free.

I do not have a contacts manager.
I have exported to SD card, deleted and copied back as google contacts,
it now appears to be a gmail upgrade problem as the phone error message

i wanted to know if when i sync my google account to joi market place, if i also have to put my active exchange sync to my gmail account also. ive had it like this on my HOX since i got it but now i noticed that in contacts under edit options, contacts appear to have the same info for exchange and sync. so i checked and saw exchange syncs mail contacts calendar tasks, as does google sync.
so i was wondering if i could just disable exchange and stay with a google sync and have other accounts like hotmail linked to hotmail account and ignore active sync

How to use contacts from Outlook account? I want to change my main account from gmail to outlook but I cannot found this option. Is there anyone that could explain it please on dumbie mode (my level of IT knowledge). Thanks a lot in advance.
Afaik you can only sync mail from outlook, in gmail... Didn't try with outlook app, maybe you can sync with that...
Note that actually we cannot create new hotmail accounts. Istead of that we create outlook accounts.
