Best rom and kernel combo - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

I have took the time to test every good rom and kernel. I thought I would share that slickmod rom with bullet kernel works the best and fastest, it got a 7500 overall benchmark score.

What you meant to say was that this kernel and rom combo worked best for you. All phonse are different. They respond to difference voltage settings inm different ways due to variations between CPU tolerance. Also battery life will differ from one user to the next due to individual usage habits.
3...2...1...

As with this thread, the completely subjective nature of the question means that there is no 'best' ROM or kernel or combination of the two and such debates inevitably end up descending into arguments... thread closed.

Whats The Best Kernel For T-Mobile S3

hello ive been trying out all the kernels for the T-Mobile S3. I have a Samsung Galaxy Note and the new kernel for that just came out and I am getting better scores on the Note then i am on the S3 but I thought the S3 i ssuppose to have a better faster CPU then the note. Im getting about 6500 on the S3 using AnTuTu Benchmark . The Note is giving me about 7500 . So Im just wondering what Kernel will be the best as of right now for the S3. The S3 is fast no matter what score it gives me but im disabled and cant move around too much and get boared so i just tweek on all my Android toys and I wont lie I have a iPad 3 too to kill time. Thanks in advance to who ever points me in the right direction. Thanks again. :cyclops:

I tried versions 8 and 9, and both break support for my 64gb sd card. It tries to mount and then says Safe to remove immediately. Restoring to stock fixes it.

I would definitely try Trinity 45b. Using Quadrant standard, I'm getting better scores at the same cpu frequency as stock kernel. The wifi signal and connections has been immensely improved. Night and day improvement. Wifi calling works, solid now. Effin sweet. I would definitely give this one a shot. I'm really trying to find some fault with it but it's getting hard.

Witch is the best ROM is not allowed. All devs work hard on their ROMs as well as do it for free. So don't ask witch is the best. Be more spesific. Like better baterie life or gamming or things like that...

I don't think there is a "best rom"... Everyone has their own personal preferences.
Currently I am running wicked v5y and it's awesome.

These threads usually don't last long but.....
I really like task and ktoonsez aokp rom. It has great battery, wicked performance and both developers are top notch and really know their stuff.
With that said... There are so many amazing developers on this site its not even funny. I have had a new favorite developer for each device I've owned. What makes it real difficult is when two devs I like have the same device and I can't pick which I like better lol.

Battery life and not having to wait for freakn Sprint/Samsung for the OTA's of JB (4.1.2/4.2). I think the phone performs awesome enough. Just my battery is always slackin.... plus I want even more customization as well for the maximum Android experience.

This is why these threads get locked. "Best" is very subjective and will vary from user to user. Both dwitherell and ptmr3 put out amazing work and different experiences.
Jedi has some kind of freaky speed tweaks and is by far the fastest ROM I ever ran. Tweaked is almost on AOKP level of customization that you'll never find again in TW. Then both devs are so helpful and nice. There's also other great options from droid premium and the my ROM series and probably a couple more I'm forgetting.
I see you found Tweaked and are happy, but in the future the best approach is to make a backup and flash away. Then you can find what's best for you and your usage.

Ya I didn't even think you were disrespecting developers. My point was just that there is no answer to your question because what's best to me isn't best to someone else.
Although these threads have a tendency to have people start bashing other ROMs in thier response. Probably won't happen here though because Tweaked and Jedi are both so awesome that there really isn't anything to bash.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda app-developers app
I never run twiz roms. I refuse to I love aosp. But... I decided to give a twiz rom a chance. I installed tweaked rom 2 days ago and im amazed. First time I dont want to just go back to aosp. I might be in for the long run. I also tried jedi x which was also good I just think the customization is a bit easier and more to my liking in organization. Like kintwofan said. There is no answer to this question since the answers are based on opinions. All these devs work extremely hard and make amazing roms for our community. But everyone is entitled to there own opinion and that doesnt mean to bash the roms you dislike. Just compliment the ones you do
