[Q] How do I access recovery on DooMLorD's Kernel?

Hi guys, I have recently returned to stock on my R800i (unbranded, UK version, unlocked bootloader) from CM 7.2 due to the gamepad issues. I have installed the latest firmware 4.0.2.A.0.62 which I flashed using the latest FlashTool. I have installed DooMLorD's latest V8 1.6ghz OC kernel however I am unable to access CWM now to put the WiFi fix on... any one got any idea? I have tried rebooting the phone and mashing both the V+ and V- keys but no dice
u should read the thread it does say. but press back when the blue led turns on or keep mashing it

as in when you go into fastboot mode? If you read my post you will see I have already tried pressing the volume keys during boot many times but no luck.
EDIT: pressing back during boot was the key, thank you, sorry I didn't spot this in the thread.

[Q] Froze "Touchwiz" in Titanium by accident

And now my AT&T S3 won't fully boot up. I'm not familiar with this enough to know how to fix it.
It stays on this screen when I power up (see image). Please help!
Try booting to recovery and restoring a backup.

I hold Volume Up + Home + Power, but it goes into Odin mode. How exactly do I boot to recovery?
I think if you can get there then you can connect to odin and flash the stock rom and recovery. basically unroot. I am not sure so don't blame me if something goes wrong.

Volume down + power + home = odin mode (download mode)
Volume up + power + home = recovery
But Odin is all you need to flash a new stock rooted ROM.
If you have any nandroids, then you need to get into recovery to restore it there.
Or you can use command line to restore it but that is complicated and I'm not sure of the steps.
I flashed the ROM from Odin mode but it did not fix it. The same issue persisted.

Thanks for the clarification!
I'll try a wipe and restore now.

Thanks alot for the help, guys!

Nandroid that thing once you get it back to where you like it so you can do it in 5 minutes instead of all night next time.

[Q] HELP - Stuck in Boot, unable to Flash back

First, I'll admit I made a mistake. I installed the wrong version of Gapps when I install CM10 and therefore the phone wouldn't boot to setup. However, when I attempted to get back to stock to recover, the phone now gets stuck at the 4th boot screen with the pulsating Samsung. I can only get to Download mode, but I can't seem to get back to CWM Recovery. I have tried reflashing CWM Recovery with Odin, but I still can't get anywhere but to Download mode.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you are stuck and can't get into recovery than you'll have to Odin back to stock there are stickies in these forums on how to do that.
If you can get into recovery and you are just not using the right button combo (vol up + power + home button) than flashing the proper gapps and wiping cache and davlik should fix the issue.

I have attempted to flash back to stock, and Odin reports that it was successful, but it still returns to the same point in the boot sequence and hangs.
When I use Power + Home + Volume Up, I get to the precursor screen for the Download Mode, not CWM Recovery Mode.
Any suggestions as to another way to force my way into recovery mode? I assumed that would be my way out, but I can't seem to get there.

Hold Volume up&home +power until the phone vibrates, then let go of just the power button (continue holding vol up&home).
Once you're in recovery you can flash a different rom, restore a backup, etc.

Make sure your battery is charged to at least 70%. Once done try entering recovery again by holding down vol up + power + home key at the same time until you see the blue text on the upper left hand corner and then let go. If this doesn't work you should be able to enter download mode with vol down + power + home key. If so I'd recommend flashing back to complete stock using ODIN on your pc and start from scratch.

I think people make it more complicated than it needs to be. Press the power button. When the phone vibrates, release it. Hold home+vol up until you see the recovery booting blue text, then release those.
Holding the power button puts the phone in a boot loop. Something I used to do on occasion until I learned it in fact didn't need to be held at all.
you can do this too...wipe data and factory...sometimes happening when i flasshing via odin

Gapps grab what pertain to the rom you are trying (4.2.2 rom --> 4.2.2 gapps)

you must install rom and gapps for your android version without reboots.

So you can't boot into the OS at all anymore? Cause if you can at least get into the OS you can use adb to terminate the the crashed app if it still rooted. And are you certain you can no longer get to recovery? I've already made the mistake of not having the volume up button fully depressed.

Thank you for your reply.
After flashing stock firmware I lost root.
I can log into android OS, But because of the annoying popular I have no chance to change nothing.
As for adb you mentioned , it is something I need to learn. From the little I know, It won't help me without root.
Thank you very much.
Boaz
Have you tried chainfire's auto root?

I manged somehow to install stock firmware again.
Root: CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505
CWM: i9505-cwm-recovery-6.0.3.2(0611): http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2034220&d=1370946022
But again I can only boot from my OS (e.g. Quick Reboot), but not by Volume UP.
This is big problem for if, because after each mistake in try to update ROM (I'm trying to update to 4.4.2 CM 11), in order wipe I need to re-install the stock firmware.
Thx
Boaz
Thx it works

It's actually never been home and volume up for the s4. I too was fooled by this. I guess since the s3 behaved this way someone tried it on the s4 and it worked... but I never ever needed home button pressed to boot to recovery with volume up glad everything is sorted out for ya!
