Got my shine new One X today and the one thing that annoys the crap outta me is the stupid menu bar for all the apps.
Such a waste of useful space. Is there any solution in sight or expected?

This is annoying. I've had my one x for a week and all the apps I still use still have this button with no update from the devs. Do you guys think devs will update their apps to get rid of this on the one x? It takes away too much screen.
I'm a bit annoyed as well, devellopers need to update their apps to have the button on top, this takes a long time before all apps are updated, leave a comment in the Google Play store with all apps you use and hopefully they will update!

good idea
Also, a lot of apps don't even need the menu button at all.
+1
including xda app as well

I'm running firmware 1.19, and I have the option to hide the menu bar. I wonder if its a feature that HTC will re-enable.

Where do you find that option?
a long press multi task button = menu type of ordeal would be awesome!
But i bet that is custom rom territory, don't see HTC being so intuitive

I have a arrow down, on my menu bar and it hides it and to bring it back up all I have to do is long press the multitask button.

So, I'm not sure if this was a feature they had and then removed from later firmware. If so I hope they bring the feature back, before I get the notice for firmware 1.28
I noticed in the setup menu that there is a gesture submenu to activate it. What kind of gesture is it possible to do? How to anable the voice control such as call ... Write ...

Sweeeeeeeet, thanks for this info. Any other hidden gems?
Thanks, guess we should sticky this thread cos I for the life of me cannot find any documentation on the gesture or voice control features of the HOX

Has anyone else spotted graphical glitches in the address bar when pages are loading. The letters disappear and are replaced with a garbled mixture of green and black pixels at the left of the screen.
Difficult to capture unfortunately

My device does similar but with a few white pixels and is on anything that is using the GPU, so basically everything lol. Might be your phone as I haven't found anyone with my issue

Yeah I've had this on the stock browser, the words go all distorted for a few seconds. I guess its a bug within the internet app as its only happened on the browser for me.

happens for me too, its not a severe issue but ya its bugging..don't expect this from such a costly device. Took it to service center but that never happened there..

As long as its not just me, I feel a bit more comfortable. Doesn't bother me I would just be worried that it is indicative of an underlying graphics problem

I get the exact same thing...more of a visual nuisance than anything else really...I don't let that bother me as much as the fact that WiFi at home stops working randomly with full bars and connection status showing as Good...

Happened to me a couple of times. Only happens with stock browser. I use chrome so not a big issue.
indeed, why not try a different browser like Dolphin HD or Chrome? Dolphin has some serious speed improvements in its current beta, and thus soon in its official update. Video comparison: http://lifehacker.com/5919626/dolphin-browser-gets-even-faster-is-still-the-best-browser-on-android
Anyone noticed or is it just me?
If you use two finger scroll in contacts list, the direction is opposite to that of one finger scroll.
Is there a way to change this??? How stupid is that???
ARHD 7.1 stock kernel
Why's it stupid? It works perfectly fine being that way as 2 fingers is skipping letter by letter. Feels more natural to be the direction your 2 fingers are travelling for something like that as opposed to scrolling..
Disable the three finger gesture.

At first I thought it was rather counter intuitive too but then I realised it is comparable to dragging down the scrollbar on a PC

Working as intended, there is no way to change that in stock, and not a way that i know in custom.
For me it is ok. Counter intuitive would be the opposite.
It's not that it scrolls the other way, it's that different areas of the screen represent different letters with A near the top and Z at the bottom.
When you place two fingers on the screen it jumps to the letter that corresponds to where you placed them. So press in the middle and it will jump to M, two thirds down will get you S etc
Two finger scrolling on my HOX just skips contacts alphabetically e.g. if Im at the top of the list and I scroll with two fingers, the contacts list will jump to all the names starting with 'B' and then to contacts starting with 'C' etc.
ok so my wifes HOX got a push software update and now this icon is in the top right corner of the notifications bar near the battery signal and all that and i cannot figure out what it is. i have been through the list of apps (all catagories) and cannot find any app that has an icon remotely similar.
can anyone assist me please?

A word of advice just in case you are gonna flash any of the roms or follow any of the guides on here, Don't
head over to the at&t one x forums as everything in this section is for the international tegra 3 one x and will cause you problems if you use it :fingers-crossed:
