[Q] Charging time.. - HTC One X

So since this phone has the same battery type as iPhone (Li-Po).. How is the charging time?
My Sensation takes long time to charge but the iPhone is quite fast on charging.
So how is it?

HTC one x time for full battery charge

Hi
Please post the time it takes for you to charge the phone from 0 to 100 when it is not being used and is on standby also the mention the update you have
my phone takes 2 hours with 1.28 update
That is a good time. With my New one i need also 2h. With the old one x i needed more than 6h

3h
The first charge was about 6h!! (Wallcharger , not USB)
I don't know how it is now. I plug the phone to the wallcharger in the evening and unplug it at the next morning

That's what I do as well but I don't think its the best way to charge the phone as sometimes I wake up in the middle if the night and the phone is close to exploding from the heat it generates while charging.
But as how fast it charges, I think around 2 hours for me too. USB takes a little longer, I'd say about 5-6 hours.

Your phone is overheating from charging? Something wrong. Mines very cool, basically like its turned off or idle.
Takes a while to charge fully though

2hr 50mins from 'completely dead' (phone turned off and remained off till charged )
V.1.29
I think that's pretty darn good!

Yeah, my phone is not warm either when plugged to the wall

Actually i think it's ok if it gets a bit warm when charging BUT it should cool all the way down when getting to fully charged.
I always plug mine in overnight... I wish I could specify a slow charge to prolong battery life. No idea how long it takes to charge.

There's no need for it. The charger stops at 100% and goes into battery mode until 95%, then starts charging again. It never approaches overcharging at any point. This is also why sometimes when you unplug your phone, it drops a few percent almost immediately, cos 100% battery was already achieved some time ago, and has been on battery the last few %
Mine takes more than 4hours .

I think you are right. It does happen to me sometimes when the battery is showing 100% and once unplugged and used for a few minutes it drops pretty quickly.

hehe i know i orginally said that i was getting 2 hours(this was the first charge cycle of the phone )
but now it takes me 3 hours for a full charge this is after the 1.28 update
going to add here, go to settings and power and check the status if it says (charging - USB) then it will charge slow for me it's 20% an hour from a USB. I also have a charger cable (has plugs for iStuff, micro USB/ mini USB and that tiny one for Nokia) and when that it plugged in it says (charging - AC) and its a lot faster.
2.5-3 hours max
charger = 5v 1a
2.5 hours here
Thanks for the thread. It also takes mine just under 3 hours from completely dead and I was thinking that was on the long side. (My Atrix 4G used to take 2 hours.)
HTC One X/AT&T
Charge time from 5% is about 3h
Hello,
i own an htc one x and the charge time are usually around 3-4.5 hours. now granted many say their average charge time for this phone is about the same. but what bugs me is that i charge my phone with a 5v+/- 1 amp charger in a 110v 50hz socket.
i have an app that measures battery usage, charge times and the amount of mAh being used or stored @ a given time interval. now when i charge the phone through the 110v socket i get 386 mAh the max from the socket. where as at my school we use 220v sockets (i have both connectors for my phone) and i get easily 895 mAh reducing charge time to just over 2 hours. so my question is.
the specification on both chargers is:
+/- 5v 1amp
so even if there is a difference in sockets both still list 1amp. so why do i only get under 400(386)mAh at home and just under 900(895)mAh at school?
btw. noob. if im in the wrong section plz redirect me. only board that looks close to what i need

[Q] Charge Time

New to smexyphones... I've been charging from 1% to 100%... it seems it only takes 2 hours~ to charge full for this big battery oO. This sound about norm? Using wall charger. How does yours compare?
The phone lasted around 19 hours before reaching 1% from 100%, this with quite a bit of active use!
It's the new quick charge tech by qualcomm, the G2 was the same way. Super ridiculous fast charging.

[Q] M8+Nexus 7 charger ??

Hey guys,
I was wondering if anyone tried this on the M8.
I used a nexus 7 charger for the M8, I didn't check if the charge time was faster because I plug it before I sleep but the weird thing is that the
battery life is somehow significantly better and lasts longer.
On my old ONE X, if I used the nexus charger, it would charge the battery faster but it will also drain quickly. I read also that using a tablet
charge (2A) will damage a phone battery on the long run.
I dont know if this has to do with the snapdragon 801 or the quick charge technology? or am I just imagining
what are your thoughts?

Funny you mention this. Wether or not its relevant (Not trying to debate the fact), I like to "condition" my phone batteries when I first get them, full discharge - recharge while turned off for first 3-4 charges or so. But I did in fact use my Google Nexus 7 charger to do so, and on the 4th charge I got 6 days 8 hours before charging on light usage. Minimum 1 hour talk time per day via 2 30+ min calls, and 20+ texts a day. (Light facebook / game usage for the sake of seeing how long it will last) Not sure if it has anything to do with the way I charged, or the charger, but I'm pretty happy with it. Just on reg power saver, as you can see the Sprint version did not have Extreme power saver update yet.

WOW, 6 DAYS now thats great!!!
I think it because of the nexus 7 charger
Ok, some facts:
Qualcomm quick charge 2 will allow very quick charging (around 1 hour), but there are no chargers yet.
Conditioning your battery hasn't been required since we moved to Lithium ion, 15 years ago.
Using a charger capable of delivering more current won't make the battery draw more current, in fact, with HTC, it might draw less (the device checks the data pins are shorted to detect a mains charger). Thusly, it won't affect the longevity of your battery.
Using the nexus charger is highly unlikely to have increased the charge in your battery, or reduced the power consumption of your device. If it lasted longer, you used it less.

Charging the OP3

What is the optimal way to charge the OP3 in order to preserve the battery lifetime? I don't care about charging speed, I just want the battery to last long with minimal degradation. Is dash charging bad for the lifetime of the battery? Or would I be better off charging the OP3 slowly with a traditional charger? Right now I have this charger
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00SZHOI8U/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
You should be using the OnePlus charger and cable which came with the phone. For optimal battery life, don't let the phone discharge below 10% and charge it till around 90%.
Dash Charging should be comparable with QuickCharge 3.0 which helps preserve battery life. So I reckon the official charger is your best bet.
Charging a battery with high intensity is bad for a battery life, dash charging/VOOC or quickcharge (any version) will be bad for battery in the long run.
But you'll only see a difference in 3 or 4 years and I don't think you'll use your phone more than 3 years. And even if you want to keep it more than 3 years, even if you don't use the phone, age will act on the battery. Even if you charge it slowly or quickly, there won't be a big difference in 2 years. Just be aware that USB-C cable have an active component in the cable head and a cheap USB-C cable can dammage your device.
If you still want to charge OP3 in good way, you have to plug it on a computer so it will charge at 5V 0.5A. It's very slow but it should charge your phone overnight and during the day, charge it while you have any occasion. 10 charge from 70% to 80% have less impact on the battery than 1 full charge from 0% to 100%.
Don't run it flat, keep it above 20-30% and don't fully charge it.
Don't leave it on charge overnight.
I run mine from about 30% to 90% maybe a little over as a 90% charge is what it takes to reset the days battery stats, screen on time etc.

fast charging

Fast charge doesn't seem to be working for me.
I'm coming from a Moto X style with rapid charge and it took about an hour to charge if that but Jesus this phone is slow to charge up.
I've even turned the fast charge on and off and I get about 10mins difference, is there something wrong or is Samsung's fast charge just rubbish?
