Overclocked ICS kernel that plays nice with touch wiz - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

I asked before and people pointed me to gingerbread kernel that made the phone get stuck in boot loop so if you can please point me in the direction of a ICS touch wiz kernel that can be over clocked a link would be even better I running calculins ROM on 4.0.3 on epic 4g touch please thank you

Until the kernel source is released there won't be one available.

I use FC22 stock with tegrak. Works fine...The gpu boost overheats my phone on some games though.

[Q] Kernel solutions?

I'm currently running Aeroevan's CM 9.0.0-RC0-Inc2-KANG, that's packaged with kernel version [email protected] My question is, are there any kernels out that will be compatible with this ROM? I tried a couple of Evan's releases but they all bonked out on me, giving me a black (backlit) screen. I'd like more control with my kernel, governors and the like.

Oh, I didn't see the 9 lol. I just saw cm and assumed cm7. Yeah, there's no other ics kernels yet.

I have a feeling that we will see more options included for oc/uv in his next release. Kinda think the 1-1-12 rom was just for him to get a perfect base going, now that it's out of the way I'm optimistic that he will start doing his tweaks and bug fixes.
As for different kernel options, pretty sure their are none available, actually I think that the only one building kernels for Inc2 ICS besides the stock CM9 kernel is Aeroevan.
Okay so if I'm stuck on this kernel for a minute, what would the best governor to use? Currently on demand.

Since there's no smartassV2 and no undervolting I would say yeah, that's what I'm using and the battery life isn't bad. Can't wait till he adds smartass and uv though, I was getting almost 2 days off my battery on Protekks christmas beta with smartassV2 and uv -25 across the board.

im already liking the battery life on anthrax. strange thing tho, flashing it doesn't update my kernel info in the settings menu. it shows the last used kernel.

agreed. battery life on this kernel is noticeably better. I just read a post that the kernel is gone now due to some cease and desist letters from beats and qualcomm? crazy
Sent from my HTC EVO 4G using Tapatalk
Definitly Antrax, have used a few kernels. My phone acts the same as evo4gnoobs on those kernels.chopsuey kernel was just behind antrax though.
anthrax is the ****. best battery life I've seen on sense and with my beats headphones it sounds amazing. I used to think beats headphones were overrated cuz i didnt notice a difference when using them on my phone from skullcandys, now i hear it.

OVerclocked Kernel????

can someone point me to a kernel that i can safely overclock ?????? have el29 phone running ICS with touch wiz
Rogue Gunslinger 1.4.1 I'm using it now, OC'd at 1.5ghz, I had it at 1.6 but 1.5 with my setup actually gives me better performance
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium,
yep, that is the best kernel to OC..
I did it and it just sat in the splash screen and wouldn't boot??????? also why is the hitman kernel pulled???

"If you want a Rooted EL13/newer+CWM use the appropriate pre-rooted ODIN thread [EL13/EL26/EL29], then come back here and use Option C to install EL13/newer+CWM (NOTE: a GB kernel/zImage will NOT allow an ICS ROM to boot)"
Theres you answer about why it wont let you boot past the splash screen...

Imm using FC22. I had it up to about 1.5 before it started heating up.
Voltage control in Tegrak costs more digital moneys than I have. But the kernel seems pretty stable. No glitches so far.

New ROMS vs. Old ROMS

So who here has tried ALL the ICS...ALL the JB... stuck it out for a little bit or awhile...BUUUUTTT always come back to a stable SENSE or AOSP ROM?

I myself have tried them ALL but now running old school Synergy RC1 with the myn warm skin...love it!

I've been back on GB for about a month now, myself.
I just don't see a fully functional ICS or JB ROM ever happening for the Evo, and thank HTC for not releasing source code for their kernels anymore....

+1. I've tried ICS and JB, and I always end up back on a GB ROM. In my case it's Deck's Reloaded ver 44.

[Q] JB Kernel / ROM that doesn't cripple 4g speeds?

So I've been looking unsuccessfully for a JB Rom that doesn't bork my 4g speeds. On stock kernels I get 8-9 mbs down consistently, then flashing to CM10, PA, CNA, etc I'll get 600kpbs down consistently on 4g. I can then flash right back and get 8-9mbs down consistently, so it isn't a service issue.
I really am not a fan of the stock TW rom, and really like the customization that some of these awesome ROMs offer, but at the same time I don't want to be stuck on essentially 3g speeds when I paid for 4. Does anyone know of a good JB rom or kernel that keeps the 4g speed of stock? TIA
Edit to add: Or is there something else going on that's causing 4g speeds to suck? I'm under the impression that it's something with a custom kernel. On stock kernel I get high speed, and also if I flash AGAT's stock repack I get high speeds as well, but I've yet to find another kernel that keeps those speeds. Thanks.
From what I have read, until we get a stock JB kernal for our phone, we are going to have some issues, and 4g is probably one of them. Just be thankful you have 4g, a lot of us dont
Oh don't get me wrong I am thankful, just ignorant as to why a kernel would do that and if there was a fix
Sent from my Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch using Tapatalk 2
Can't we just flash one of AGAT's ics kernels to fix the issue

This pretty much hit it.
The JB Kernel for the E4GT has just barely been released and our developers are still working on getting the kinks out. They've done a phenomenal job so far, I might add. One thing you can try is looking for a ROM / Kernel / Modem combination that will most appease your desire for 4G speeds. I have personally had a lot of success with Paranoid Androids ROM and stock kernel running FI25 (Modem).
When it really comes down to it, we just all have to be patient and thankful for our devs!
Good luck
